Sprint Galaxy Nexus specs leak, no bump in processor speed

Posted on Apr 04, 2012 by MG3

Same is the case with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which Sprint is expected to release later this month: tipsters say that the carrier is already running training sessions with its personnel. And what a great opportunity for some insider intelligence to leak on the web, don't you think?

Australian court finds Google guilty of misleading consumers

Posted on Apr 04, 2012 by MG3

Filed in: Google

An Australian court on Tuesday ruled that Google engaged in “misleading and deceptive” advertising practices, Reuters reported. The court said that between March 2006 and July 2007, Google published search results for queries related to Honda Australia with paid advertisements for Honda competitor CarSales. The advertisements led users to believes that CarSales was linked to Honda Australia. The search giant argued that it was not responsible for misleading search results since it was merely a conduit for advertisers. The court disagreed, however, and ordered Google to set up a compliance program that will ensure paid advertisements will not mislead consumers. The Australian Competition and ...

Alleged Nokia poster template reveals Windows Phone 8 branding

Alleged Nokia poster template reveals Windows Phone 8 branding

Posted on Apr 04, 2012 by MG3

Make of that what you will, but a tipster just sent us a picture, which is claimed to be originating from the confines of Nokia, and allegedly is some sort of a non-final poster template.
Whether real or fake we'll let you decide, we don't know what the pro-printing jargon is for such a seemingly transparent plastic poster sheet, if that's it at all, but what we found most interesting in case this has some merits, is the Windows Phone 8 signage.

AmazonWireless.com, Amazon’s dedicated shopping site for cell phone and tablet buyers, is finally exiting beta today, following its launch in July of 2009. The change in status may mean nothing to regular mobile shoppers, who have long known of and used the service to compare devices, or who were attracted there when Amazon ran crazy sales – like when it listed all its Verizon phones for just a penny, for example. It has also be known to offer some impressive discounts on flagship phones, such as the $199 Galaxy Nexus and the $111.11 Droid RAZR.

Arizona legislature passes Internet censorship bill to make trolling illegal

Posted on Apr 04, 2012 by MG3

The advent of the World Wide Web has delivered instant knowledge to the masses. As the Internet grows, however, danger begins to lurk around every corner. The Arizona State Legislature on Monday passed an Internet censorship bill that extends telephone harassment laws to the Internet and other means of electronic communication. The legislation aims to put an end to cyberbullying and states that virtually anything said online that the state deems “offensive” can be a punishable offense. Law enforcement officials ...

Posted on Apr 04, 2012 by MG3

A functional Android Ice Cream Sandwich build for the one and only Samsung Galaxy Note has leaked on the Internets, and it even comes as a trendy one-click installer Odin file.
Don't expect the Premium Suite with this leak, just Android 4.0 covered in a layer of TouchWiz, but it should be good to play around with until the official thing hits this quarter. Your internal memory gets wiped during install, so make sure you move the stuff out temporarily while updating.

Bert Nordberg, who has been the CEO of Sony Ericsson (now Sony Mobile) since the summer of 2009, is going to lose his job on May 16th. His successor will be Kunimasa Suzuki (pictured above, left). According to BusinessWeek, Suzuki has been with Sony since 1984 and has spent the last decade of his career overseeing the company’s VIAO computer division. Other than that, we really don’t know anything about this dude. We will say this however, it’s telling that the head of Sony Mobile will now be a Japanese guy as opposed to a Swedish guy. This makes sense when you think about Sony’s new strategy. They want to make mobile a huge part of their business, rightfully so, and this move clearly demons...

ZTE is super bullish on its prospects in the smartphone market this year. According to DigiTimes‘ sources at the Taiwan-based makers of handset components, the Chinese company will ship between 35 and 40 million smartphones this year, which is a significant increase from 11 million units shipped last year. Judging by their extensive line-up unveiled during this year’s Mobile World Congress, we tend to think ZTE will manage to reach this goal and who knows, maybe even surpass its own estimates.
