HTC One S for T-Mobile set to receive software update next Monday

Owners of the HTC One S for T-Mobile should be on the lookout for a software update soon, as the carrier says that an update will be available starting on June 4. The update addresses a number of software bugs on the phone, and improves stability in the camera app and with Wi-Fi calling. T-Mobile also says that a signal fluctuation bug has also been addressed. Users should begin to receive notifications for the update on their handsets starting on June 4, and T-Mobile plans to offer the update through July 7.

HTC Says Its Smartphones Have Cleared Customs

HTC today issued a brief statement announcing that its smartphones have cleared inspection with customer for compliance with an exclusion order and are being allowed into the country. "HTC devices have been released, as they are in compliance with the ITC's ruling," said HTC in a statement emailed to The Verge. The devices were stopped at the border May 15 and have been awaiting examination since then. Some EVO 4G LTE units cleared customs last week.

If you’ve been worried about not being able to get your hands on an AT&T HTC One X or an EVO 4G LTE, worry no more. HTC says that the customs ban has been lifted now that the affected handsets have been found to be free of patent infringement. The phones will now make their way past customs and into retail stores, and eventually into customer’s hands once stock levels normalize.

Users of the HTC Sensation XL, mostly in Europe and Asia, have received the Android 4.0 update over the air. To make sure you have received it, go to Settings > About phone > Software updates and hit that button. You will be downloading a 200MB package which means those with a strict data cap might want to wait for a Wi-Fi connection before installing it. The exact build that you will be updating to is Android 4.0.3 while HTC Sense remains at 3.6. This brings users some of the new ICS features like Face Unlock, the new app dock and the multi-tasking menu. What you won't be getting is the new UI found on devices carrying HTC Sense 4.0.

HTC is about to roll out its One XL handset to parts of Europe as it looks to cash in on the 4G market.
According to Vodafone Germany, the One XL will be available from early June, and KnowYourMobile reports that it should make it to the UK soon after.
TechRadar contacted HTC UK, who said "The HTC One XL is a 4G LTE device which we expect will roll out to markets where 4G is supported, but there is no word on it coming to the UK."

AT&T HTC One X bootloader unlocked via command line trickery

When HTC confirmed to us that it wouldn't be offering an official bootloader unlock solution for the AT&T version of the One X, we assumed that the Android hacking community would step in and find a solution. Twenty days later, that solution is here via a process detailed by grankin01 at xda-developers. True to its word, Sprint's begun to issue shipping notifications for pre-orders of its beleaguered flagship, the EVO 4G LTE. Word of the impending device arrivals continue to flood our inbox, lending credence to that ambiguous "on or around" May 24th arrival date, no doubt restoring the faith of wary subs. HTC One XL coming to Germany, drags LTE with it

In the US, Asia and Australia they've already had their fill of the HTC One XL. But, in Europe, they've had to make do with the lame ol' HSPA+ One X. That is, until now. German carrier Vodafone has announced that it'll be the first to bring the XL home, complete with triband LTE in tow. Just like the American "One X," the new Euro XL ditches the quad-core Tegra 3 for a 1.5GHz dual-core S4, primarily because the NVIDIA solution doesn't support LTE. HTC Publishes Blissfully Frustrating Android 4.0 Update List

Good news if you own an Amaze 4G smartphone from HTC. For those of you who do, HTC just released an update to Android 4.0, the latest and greatest open source mobile operating system from Google more deliciously known as Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). Owners of HTC's Thunderbolt and Desire HD smartphones aren't as lucky, having to wait perhaps until August, or longer, receive an ICS upgrade, according to HTC's newly published Android 4.0 roadmap.

HTC phones stopped at border are beginning to enter the States

HTC has sent out a release that while short on words, is long on possibilities. The Taiwan based manufacturer says that some of its handsets which were held up by U.S.Customs thanks to ITC intervention, have been released. Some of the devices are now in the hands of the end-user. Based on what the manufacturer has said, this is going to be a long drawn out process as each unit needs to be reviewed by Customs and will be released after this inspection. HTC couldn't say if the freed devices were the AT&T HTC One X, the HTC EVO 4G LTE headed for a launch via Sprint or a combination of both.

HTC Desire C puts Android 4.0 on a 320 x 480 display

HTC has unveiled the Desire C, an entry-level Android 4.0 smartphone set for a UK release early next month. Sitting just below the well-received One V in HTCs 2012 range, the Desire C features a 3.5-inch QVGA (that's 320 x 480 pixels) display, a 5-megapixel camera, and Beats Audio. There's no word on processor or storage yet, but there'll be 25GB of Dropbox usage included with the device. HTC says it'll come with Sense 4.0, but it's more likely to be the toned down version you'll find on the One V than that of the flagship One S and One X devices.
