HTC One X suffering Wi-Fi connectivity issues

A design flaw is interfering with users' ability to connect the HTC One X with a Wi-Fi source. The One X seemingly has several Wi-Fi-related problems that either drain the battery rapidly or render it completely unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network. HTC is reportedly aware of the issue, and is asking for feedback to help the engineering team resolve the problem.
Users can test their devices by gently squeezing the back of the phone between the camera lens and voume buttons. If the Wi-Fi signal strength improves, only to drop when releasing the grip, then the the device is affected by the connectivity bug. The suggested primary fix is returning the phone to the supplier as a "dead on arrival"...

If you’ve been worried about not being able to get your hands on an AT&T HTC One X or an EVO 4G LTE, worry no more. HTC says that the customs ban has been lifted now that the affected handsets have been found to be free of patent infringement. The phones will now make their way past customs and into retail stores, and eventually into customer’s hands once stock levels normalize.

HTC One XL coming to Germany, drags LTE with it

In the US, Asia and Australia they've already had their fill of the HTC One XL. But, in Europe, they've had to make do with the lame ol' HSPA+ One X. That is, until now. German carrier Vodafone has announced that it'll be the first to bring the XL home, complete with triband LTE in tow. Just like the American "One X," the new Euro XL ditches the quad-core Tegra 3 for a 1.5GHz dual-core S4, primarily because the NVIDIA solution doesn't support LTE. Though, as an added bonus, we're sure it helps extend the life of that 1,800 mAh cell inside. Message notification bug found on HTC One X; HTC says software fix is coming

A small number of HTC One X units are suffering from a message notifications bug which forces the user to open up the messaging application in order to see if there are any new messages. The bug prevents the status bar from showing that a message has been received and also does not allow a badge to show up on the messaging icon on the home screen to alert the phone's user to a message.

AT&T's HTC One X gets rooted, catches up with the global gang

No sooner did the international variant of the One X reveal its source code, now the AT&T version has landed itself an unofficial root. Better still, the folks over at xda-developers have already squeezed the occasionally laborious process into a one-click install. For those not in the know, this doesn't mean an unlocked bootloader, which is still wrapped up in AT&T red tape. Root meddling types can hit up the source for the necessary files. Just, be careful -- that's some pricey polycarbonate and the Galaxy S III's still some weeks away.

Hackers rejoice … HTC has released the source code for the wildly popular One X. Yesterday, we wrote how MoDaCo noticed that the AT&T version of the HTC One X ships with a locked bootloader that isn’t unlocked by HTC’s bootloader unlock tool, a revelation that was later confirmed to The Verge by HTC. The Death Star strikes again!

The AT&T variant of the HTC One X is now available from the carrier at a price of $199.99 with a signed two-year pact. The model is not endowed with the quad-core Tegra 3 like the international version of the phone, due to compatibility issues with LTE. But based on benchmark readings, you won't notice any drop off in performance with the dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 under the hood. The Adreno 225 GPU takes care of the graphics side of things.

MasterCard is widening the universe of phones that officially support PayPass in a big way, with a new MasterCard PayPass Ready program certifying that devices with NFC will play nicely with its mobile payment system. A total of 17 phones are part of the first wave getting the official A-OK. Some of these are known quantities already using PayPass, like the LG Viper 4G LTE and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+, but others are new to the PayPass ways. Among the picks are the HTC One X, Intel's smartphone reference device and the Nokia Lumia 610 NFC. A raft of BlackBerrys and lower-end Samsung Galaxy phones are likewise in the fray. HTC touts the One X battery life

HTC outed a blog post in which it detailed the thousand of man hours that went into the battery life performance of its flagship HTC One X handset, partly to alleviate the concerns about it having a non-removable battery, we'd wager to guess.
They compared with last year's flagship HTC Sensation and the results are pretty astounding - 147% longer talk time, 103% more music playback, 39% more video playback, and 23% more web browsing time, all from a phone with a beautiful 4.7" HD screen.
Not bad, but HTC also has some independent reviewers' charts to back its claims up, like those from the Anandtech review below.

HTC predicts 55 percent revenue jump, could hint at strong One sales

HTC's results for Q1 2012 were a long way short of spectacular, but they came too early to see any impact from sales of its latest wares -- particularly the flagship One X and the ambitious mid-range One S. According to Reuters, the Taiwanese manufacturer now predicts that its revenue will leap by 55 percent in Q2, compared to that bad last quarter. That kind of growth equates to around $3.56 billion, which isn't so impressive when you compare it to the same quarter last year, when turnover broke records and was around 20 percent higher, but it's still an encouraging sign that this company could reap what it sowed at MWC.

If you were thinking about pre-ordering the AT&T variant of the HTC One X, you should know that according to a leaked internal memo Radio Shack plans on accepting pre-orders for the phone starting on Sunday, the sane date that AT&T will commence accepting pre-orders for the device. We have been informed by a trusted source that HTC’s One X, one of the best smartphones ever to come out of Taiwan, will be available on AT&T as early as this week. We have also been told that AT&T may announce availability details tomorrow, and that the handset’s release should follow within five to seven days of the carrier’s announcement. AT&T’s version of the HTC One X swaps out the quad-core Tegra 3 processor for a dual-core Snapdragon CPU in order to accommodate 4G LTE connectivity, but unlike the complete redesign we saw on Sprint’s EVO 4G LTE, the AT&T version should be nearly identical to the international model.

If you've already decided whether you're Team One X or Team One S, and live in the UK, then get ready to flex the plastic on Thursday. Both T-Mobile and Orange have announced that's the day you can pick one up in store and online (and even over the phone if that's how you roll.) Both networks are offering the One X for free if you don't mind paying £41 a month, or you can scoop up the One S for a slightly more reasonable £36 -- if you're okay with the smaller screen estate and number-of-core bragging rights.
