HTC One S offered with 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 processor in Taiwan and India

HTC One S offered with 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 processor in Taiwan and India

Posted on Jun 22, 2012 by MG1

The shortage of Snapdragon S4 processors is prompting HTC to use Qualcomm’s old-gen CPUs in some devices. The One S that is offered in India and Taiwan won’t come with the newest Qualcomm processor, but the old Snapdragon S3 clocked at 1.7GHz. Now we’re not sure how the two CPUs compare and I think there won’t be any visible differences as far as most users are concerned. Still, some others may appreciate the best Qualcomm CPU in their phone(s), especially when they have to pay a premium to get the One S.

HTC One S drops to $99 at Best Buy and $49 at T-Mobile

HTC One S drops to $99 at Best Buy and $49 at T-Mobile

Posted on Jun 15, 2012 by MG1

Two pretty sweet deals are taking place right now for the HTC One S Android handset. The device has dropped in price significantly at both Best Buy and T-Mobile, selling for $99.99 and $49.99 respectively with a two-year contract.
Note that the sale at T-Mobile will require you to pay $99.99 up front for the phone and then get your $50 back via mail-in rebate. If you’re like me and absolutely despise rebates, Best Buy is the better option. The sale price of the One S at T-Mobile is part of an even bigger Father’s Day sale going on in which many of the Android smartphones are discounted or made completely free as long as you glue yourself to the network for two years.

HTC One S deal: price down to $100 on Best Buy

HTC One S deal: price down to $100 on Best Buy

Posted on Jun 14, 2012 by MG1

T-Mobile’s HTC One S is one of the carrier’s best Android offers for the moment, and it’s likely to remain so for a couple of weeks until the Samsung Galaxy S III launches, but now there’s one more reason to buy the One S - it’s price dropped to $99.99 on a 2-year contract on Best Buy.
The One S deal is good for both new T-Mobile customers and for upgraders, and will run for a limited time.
There’s no catch if you don’t count the fact that you have to order online as most brick and morter Best Buy stores don’t have T-Mobile handsets for sale. Hit the source link below to get the One S for a good price while the deal lasts.

So, about that update for the HTC One S on T-Mobile that was supposed to start rolling out today, it’s delayed. Sorry.
Originally the update was schedule for May 31st through June 30th. The support documentation has just been updated and now reads June 4th though July 7th. While a reason for the delay has not been cited, it looks like HTC One S owners will have to wait until Monday to get their update.

HTC predicts 55 percent revenue jump, could hint at strong One sales

HTC predicts 55 percent revenue jump, could hint at strong One sales

Posted on Apr 24, 2012 by MG3

HTC's results for Q1 2012 were a long way short of spectacular, but they came too early to see any impact from sales of its latest wares -- particularly the flagship One X and the ambitious mid-range One S. According to Reuters, the Taiwanese manufacturer now predicts that its revenue will leap by 55 percent in Q2, compared to that bad last quarter. That kind of growth equates to around $3.56 billion, which isn't so impressive when you compare it to the same quarter last year, when turnover broke records and was around 20 percent higher, but it's still an encouraging sign that this company could reap what it sowed at MWC.

HTC One V coming to Canada on Bell, will reunite with One S

HTC One V coming to Canada on Bell, will reunite with One S

Posted on Apr 24, 2012 by MG3

Canadians looking to hunt down the smallest addition to HTC's One series are in luck. According to a MobileSyrup tipster, it'll arrive on Bell next week, in all its aluminum unibody glory. While the One X looks to be confined to Rogers in the Land of the Maple Leaf, both the One S and One V are going to be offered by Bell Mobility. The mole also hinted at pricing below CND $300, matching those entry-level credentials we've explored just recently. Not a fan of Bell? Don't get disheartened -- the Android 4.0 minnow will also make an appearance on Telus, so 'chin' up.

HTC One S to launch via T-Mobile on April 25th according to training slides

HTC One S to launch via T-Mobile on April 25th according to training slides

Posted on Apr 10, 2012 by MG1

Carriers just don't throw a device on the floor and say to the reps, "go sell it." There is training involved as the reps learn all they can about a specific device. Apparently, T-Mobile reps have just through a presentation on the HTC One S and leaked shots of some of the slides used in the training session show that the nation's third largest carrier will be launching the device on April 25th. This dovetails with earlier reports that the phone would be launching late this month.
