LG Optimus 3D 2 images leak

Posted on Jan 24, 2012 by MG1

Images and specs of a new LG phone codenamed the “CX2″ were recently leaked. The phone is thought to possibly be the successor to the Optimus 3D and may be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona next month. Pocketnow, which leaked the image and specs, says the CX2 sports a dual-core Texas Instruments processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a NOVA display capable of displaying 3D content, a 5-megapixel camera capable of snapping 3D photos, 8GB of storage, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC and support for 21Mbps HSPA+ networks. The phone could launch as soon as this spring, but unfortunately the phone is said to run on Google’s older Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system rather than Ice ...

LG X3 to be a 4.7 inch monster phone with NVIDIA Tegra 3

LG X3 to be a 4.7 inch monster phone with NVIDIA Tegra 3

Posted on Jan 23, 2012 by MG1

While it’s hard to say that CES 2012 was a dud in the mobile space, we’re patiently awaiting to see what Mobile World Congress will be offering us next month. We’re pretty sure that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be announced already and it looks like LG is packing some heat with the upcoming X3. Yes, this is all rumor for the time being but the render above is enough to get our attention.
This beastly device is said to sport a quad-core processor, presumably NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 SoC. We won’t be terribly alarmed if we see a handful of devices shipping with quad-core processors but given that LG launched the Optimus 2X with the Tegra 2 before anyone else (and got into the Guinness Book of World R...

LG Spectrum now available on Verizon for $199

Posted on Jan 20, 2012 by MG1

The LG Spectrum is now available from Verizon Wireless for about $200 with a new two-year contract and the latest 4G LTE smartphone packs quite the punch with a beautiful HD screen.
The device isn’t dramatically different from the LG Nitro we saw earlier but the Spectrum is for Verizon Wireless and it will be a 4G LTE handset. We can also look forward to a 4.5 True HD IPS display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera on the rear, 1.3 megapixel camera and all the other connectivity goodies you’d expect from a smartphone like this.
While we’ve seen multiple phones with a 720p screen, the True HD IPS display is quite a sight to behold and I found LG’s HD screens to be some of the best...

LG Viper T565 surfaces: affordable feature phone reminds you of the past

LG Viper T565 surfaces: affordable feature phone reminds you of the past

Posted on Jan 18, 2012 by MG3

LG has just announced the LG T565, aka the LG Viper, but it won’t impress you with anything but its price tag - the Viper is a feature phone with a 2.8-inch display with QVGA resolution. The notable thing about the screen is that it supports multi-touch.
Designwise, the Viper doesn’t offer nothing groundbreaking, but is still rather compact and comes with a thin, 0.39-inch (9.8mm) body.

Posted on Jan 14, 2012 by MG1

Having raided the smartphone coffers of its parent just a few days ago, today Sprint subsidiary, Boost Mobile, is at it again. Setting you back $279, it'll be offered in Boost Mobile stores January 23rd, followed by everywhere else come February. PR on the 4-inch Gingerbread-totin' smartphone is after the break.

Sprint’s LTE network is only slated to go live in a handful of markets right now, but the country’s third largest wireless carrier is wasting no time in introducing some hew hardware to take advantage of the nascent network.
We were all thrown for a loop when a Sprint Galaxy Nexus popped up in an online ad recently, and the company has just recently confirmed that the handset is indeed the real deal

CyanogenMod 7 nightly builds come for AT&T's LG Thrill, the Sony Ericsson Xperia active and Xperia pro

CyanogenMod 7 nightly builds come for AT&T's LG Thrill, the Sony Ericsson Xperia active and Xperia pro

Posted on Jan 04, 2012 by MG1

CyanogenMod nightlies have appeared for AT&T's LG Thrill 4G, as well as the Sony Ericsson Xperia active and Xperia Pro handsets.
The mods, which are intended to test features and iron out bugs, are based on the current CM7 edition, not the Ice Cream Sandwich-laden CM9, which is still in the labs, but you'll still get the purified, functional CyanogenMod experience.
Since these nightlies are a necessary step on the way to stable releases, your LG Thrill 4G and the two Xperias should be in the list of supported devices soon, and hopefully you will see CyanogenMod 9 gracing the screen too afterwards, if you love playing around with your Android phone's capabilities. And what CyanogenMod user d...

In the second quarter we should expect to see updates for the LG Optimus LTE, Prada 3.0, Optimus 2X, Optimus Sol, myTouch Q and the Eclipse. Fast forwarding to the third quarter, the Optimus 3D, Optimus Black, Optim...

LG Spectrum (aka Verizon Revolution 2) shows itself in photos

LG Spectrum (aka Verizon Revolution 2) shows itself in photos

Posted on Dec 12, 2011 by MG1

The LG Spectrum, which is widely expected to be released as the Verizon Revolution 2, has made an appearance in pictures and there are some more specs rumored for the device, and it's all making the choice for Verizon customers much more difficult. As of last month, the Spectrum was still the name, but now it looks pretty official that this will be the Revolution 2.
The images look pretty solid. The device seems a bit slimmer than the original Revolution, which is no real surprise given the trend in handsets these days. Other than that, there isn't a lot to say from the images alone. However, the rumored specs for the device are also sounding pretty solid. The Revolution 2 is expected to be...

Posted on Dec 05, 2011 by MG1

LG Optimus Net, the entry-level Android smartphone which pretty much supersedes LG’s Optimus One, got its dual-SIM twin brother – P698. Announced in Russia, it’s pretty much the same device under the hood except that it sports two SIM card slots. Moreover, instead of the search key, it has a switch SIM key, allowing users to quickly change between two phone numbers (and two different networks).
Rest of the specs include a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera, 800MHz processor, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5mm headset jack, 512MB of RAM, and 150MB of internal memory that is further expandable with microSD cards.
