LG LS970 superphone rumored: 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4, LTE, 13-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM

Posted on May 14, 2012 by MG1

BriefMobile has rumored a new LG device with a feature list that looks like a smartphone-lover's dream. The LG LS970, which the site is calling the "Eclipse 4G LTE," is said to be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor paired with an Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It also includes a 13-megapixel camera, 16GB of storage, and a separate radio capable of voice-over-LTE (VoLTE). The phone itself, unhelpfully pictured from the back, appears to be a proof-of-concept prototype rather than a production-ready device, with an exposed aerial port and unfinished branding.

LG announced “the world’s first quad core smartphone” at Mobile World Congress in February of this year. Dubbed the Optimus 4X HD, it still hasn’t hit the market, meanwhile the HTC One X has, and it has the same quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 inside. Anyway, just like the HTC One X has a dual core variant that relies on Qualcomm’s S4 Snapdragon, LG is said to have an Optimus 4X variant called the D1L that also uses the S4 Snapdragon. We don’t know when this mythical handset will hit the market, but according to the South Korean website DDaily, we know that it’s going to have at least one feature that makes it unique: wireless charging. Assuming the D1L can be recharged without having to fiddle wit...

Posted on Apr 23, 2012 by MG3

Sprint's first 4G LTE smartphones, the Google Galaxy Nexus and the LG Viper 4G LTE, will be available for purchase online and in stores today. Unfortunately, buyers won't be able to take advantage of the devices' 4G LTE capabilities until Sprint launches its own LTE network later this year.
The Galaxy Nexus offered by Sprint is the same model as offered by Verizon Wireless, and it features a 4.65-inch, 720p (720 x 1280 pixel) Super AMOLED display and 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It runs a stock version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and has a 5 megapixel camera with zero shutter lag.

LG Optimus 4X HD benchmarks impressive, on par with the HTC One X

LG Optimus 4X HD benchmarks impressive, on par with the HTC One X

Posted on Apr 11, 2012 by MG1

The LG Optimus 4X HD is no joke when it comes to specs - it’s the successor of the first dual-core phone ever, last year’s Optimus 2X, and it packs all four plus one cores of the latest Nvidia Tegra 3. And it’s got the benchmarks to prove it.
The 4X HD scored an impressive 4512 in Quadrant, and while that’s slightly short of the 4,909 scored by the HTC One X which also sports the Tegra 3 in its international version, the LG phone managed to beat the One X in AnTuTu. Below are the scores from both handsets in three different benchmarks. To put things in wider perspective, the HTC One S scored around 5,000 in Quadrant in our tests.

New photos of LG Miracle with Telus branding surface

Posted on Apr 04, 2012 by MG3

LG's rumored Miracle Windows Phone still hasn't been announced, but PocketNow has gotten new photos that appear to show a version headed for Canadian carrier Telus. The pictures include a Telus-branded home screen, the back of the square-cornered phone, and an information page that shows it running Windows Phone OS build 8107. That suggests that this might be a relatively recent photograph. The phone's name is given as the LG E740H, a variant of the E740 name that's been associated with the Miracle before.

Sprint restarts Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for LG Optimus S

Sprint restarts Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for LG Optimus S

Posted on Apr 03, 2012 by MG3

Way back in September of last year, Sprint released the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus S smartphone. Unfortunately, it was pulled shortly after launch because users were reporting a number of bugs with the update. This left Optimus S users confused and bewildered as to where their Android 2.3 Gingerbread update went. Well, here we are nearly seven months later, and Sprint says that it will relaunch the update starting on Wednesday of this week. In addition to the improvements that come with Android 2.3, Sprint says the update also includes fixes for device charging, an SD card unmounting error, the device not being recognized by Windows SP, Vista, or 7 operating systems, a...

LG Optimus S to resume Gingerbread update on April 4th

Posted on Apr 03, 2012 by MG3

Back last September, Sprint started rolling out the Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus S. But the update had to be halted when owners of the device started having some issues. Some owners were having problems recharging their phone or connecting to data. Other problems included the failure of predictive text to appear while typing on the virtual QWERTY, an incorrect message would appear stating that the microSD card is unmounted, and when connected to a PC, the device was unrecognized by Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7

New Images Of LG Windows Phone LS831 Emerges

Posted on Apr 03, 2012 by MG3

While we are still not sure about LG releasing another Windows Phone 7.5 device, there were numerous leaks on their devices/prototypes. This one is LS831 which we saw in last October when it passed the FCC. The device design looks outdated to me and it has a 5MP camera along with a front cam. Since it features a CDMA band, it should release only on Sprint in US if there is any possibility. Visit the source link for more images.

LG Lucid 4G specs leak

Posted on Mar 23, 2012 by MG1

Filed in: Cell PhonesLGLucid

The LG Lucid 4G, aka the LG Cayman, had been seen earlier this month in a rendering. We also were able to get a clue as to when to expect this mid-range device to be rolled out, which is March 29th. The LG Lucid 4G will be equipped with a 4 inch WVGA Nova IPS-LCD display with a brightness of 700 nit and a pixel density of 233 ppi. Driving the device is a dual-core 1.2GHz processor. No mention of RAM appears in the leak, but we would expect 1GB based on the other specs. 8GB of internal storage is on the device which can be increased to 40GB using a 32GB microSD card. A 1700mAh battery keeps the LG Lucid 4G running while the 5MP AF camera captures video at 1080p. For self portraits and video c...

LG Optimus Vu launches in Korea, gets priced

LG Optimus Vu launches in Korea, gets priced

Posted on Mar 08, 2012 by MG1

LG's 5-inch smartphone has finally arrived -- at least over in Korea. While 4:3 ratio display raised a few eyebrows during its debut at MWC, the IPS display, lightweight frame and stylus has us chasing after a review model to give it the full run-down. Anyone in LG's homeland can beat us to the punch -- it's now on sale priced just under the Galaxy Note, a device that's been around for a few months. Expect to pay 990,000 won ($890) for a carrier-free version, but importers should 'note' that they won't be able to take advantage of that built-in TV tuner. We're still sniffing out details on prices and launch dates for the US. Hopefully, the international model will arrive with a rubberdium st...
