In speed tests conducted by PC Magazine, T-Mobile's HSPA+ 42Mbps 4G network beat Verizon's 4G LTE network in 11 cities. What does PC Magazine think about T-Mobile's HSPA+ service? "It’s really fast, covers a lot of the country and is inexpensive," says the publication. Taking it even further, PC Magazine says that with this type of speed available to its customers, the nation's fourth largest carrier doesn't really need an LTE network except to have the additional spectrum and for marketing purposes. Samsung Galaxy S III owners to get free Olympics livestream from Eurosport

New owners of the Olympic's official smartphone that missed out on Samsung's initial ticket giveaway still have a chance to catch plenty of the action live. Eurosport has announced that it'll be offering a free month of access to its streaming app for Galaxy S III owners -- as long as you're a resident in one of the participating European countries. (Hint: it's most of 'em, aside from Italy). Free access can be activated from July 14th and will last through August 12th. SoundCloud Coming to Expanded Tweets
Like UnlikeTwitter this week announced plans for "expanded tweets," allowing for richer content within its 140-character messages, and one of Twitter's music partners will be SoundCloud.
According to TechCrunch, SoundCloud integration will allow you to easily share your favorite sounds with all of your followers.
The HTML5 music player will be embedded inside the new expanded tweets, displaying a summary of SoundCloud music and providing easy playback for followers. Users will slowly gain access in the coming weeks.

ICANN Glitch Reveals Personal Details of gTLD Applicants
Like UnlikeThe Internet's governing body this week admitted that it inadvertently revealed the mailing addresses and contact details of those who applied for the new generic top-level domains (gTLDs).
Those details were viewable by anyone visiting the public section of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers' gTLD site. As a result, ICANN temporarily disabled that section of the website to remove identifying details. Access was restored last night.
"We apologize for this oversight," ICANN said in a statement. "The information in these fields was not intended for publication."

LulzSec Hacker Indicted in U.S. for Sony, X Factor Hacks
Like UnlikeU.K. resident and LulzSec member Ryan Cleary was indicted in Los Angeles federal court today for hacking the websites of Fox, PBS, and Sony, among others.
The 19-year-old is accused of orchestrating and conspiring with fellow hackers to intentionally cause damage without authorization to a computer, according to a copy of the indictment that was posted online by the LA Times.
The hacks in question took place about a year ago.
In April 2011, LulzSec hacked into the servers of Fox Entertainment Group and stole information about the TV show The X Factor.
In May 2011, the website for PBS NewsHour was defaced and hackers posted a fake news story that said slain rapper Tupac Shakur was still alive...

Google rules the UK search market

Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter maybe growing but UK consumers are still turning to Google when it comes to search and we're searching more and more.
According to the latest monthly figures from Experian Marketing Services, Google grew its share of the UK search market In May for the third consecutive month, and now nearly 91 out of every 100 searches in the UK use Google.
UK Internet users made 2.3 billion visits to search engines in May 2012, up by 82 million visits, representing a 3.7 percent monthly increase in search activity and a 3.6 percent year-on-year increase.

Apple vs. Motorola back in court as judge revives patent spat

The patent spat between Apple and Motorola Mobility is headed back to the US courthouse, with each company expected to fight its infringement corner on June 20. Justice Richard A. Posner confirmed the hearing date, despite earlier suggestions that the case would be dismissed altogether as neither Apple nor Motorola Mobility had sufficiently established a right to relief.

Dropbox To Ditch Public Sharing Folders For New Accounts

Apple: Most profitable company ever in 2012, analyst says

As Apple’s stock price continues its roller coaster ride after topping $600 earlier this year, one industry watcher believes the stock is currently in the bargain bin. Apple can already lay claim to the most profitable quarter in history among technology companies, and Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White on Monday wrote in a note to clients that Apple is currently on track to record the most profitable year ever among publicly traded companies.

Linus Torvalds: 'fuck you, Nvidia' for not supporting Linux

FBI ordered to copy over 150TB of Megaupload data in Dotcom case
Like UnlikeIn a ruling released yesterday, Justice Helen Winkelmann of the High Court of New Zealand has ordered the FBI to begin copying over 150TB of data from the computers seized from Kim Dotcom earlier this year as evidence for the DOJ's case against Megaupload. The ruling comes as a preemptive measure, allowing Dotcom's defense immediate access to the evidence in the event that he is extradited to the US, though whether or not the prosecution will be obligated to share details of the data has yet to be determined.

So says Samsung in a statement on its website, where it says the rumours is 'groundless'.
Likely keen to distance itself from the rumoured project's terrible codename 'Samsung Facebook', the statement points out that there's just no need for it.
