Apple is rumoured to be working on one. HTC and LG already have one. Yet it seems Samsung has no plans to follow suit by introducing 3D technology to its smartphone range.
Speculation had been rife that the new Samsung Galaxy S III might house some kind of 3D technology when it arrives later this year be it a display, camera or both.
In terms of a 3D display Samsung has vehemently denied working on one for the Galaxy S III or any other potential handset for that matter, which may put to bed any hope of a 3D camera too.

In exchange for $168, 544 in kickbacks, a 46-year-old former researcher at Samsung Mobile Display (SMD) has been arrested in Korea, and 11 other employees detained, for leaking Samsung's "small mask scanning" AMOLED display tech to the competition.
Everybody wants in on the AMOLED gravy train, and the researcher, who left for a rival company in November after being passed for promotion, reportedly also tried to shop the goods to Chinese display makers.
That might explain the sudden accomplishments of a few Chinese screen manufacturers we told yo about not long ago, resulting in not only ramped up AMOLED production, but reportedly also building factories for next-gen OLED technologies, which...

Rumor: Samsung to release 3 Windows Phones this year

Posted on Apr 09, 2012 by MG1

Nokia may be getting all the attention (of what little there is) in the Windows Phone world, but let’s not forget that there are other players with their neck in the game. Samsung, who we’ve traditionally recognized as the leading manufacturer of Android devices, has released a few Windows Phone devices that haven’t really taken off, but rumor has it that they’re going to take another stab at Microsoft’s mobile operating system this year with three new models. One of them, codenmaed Mandel, is said to run Windows Phone Tango and come with 4G LTE. Seeing as how we’re not big fans of Tango, let’s skip straight to the good stuff: Apollo. We don’t know anything about these other two smartphones ...

Posted on Apr 05, 2012 by MG1

Samsung on Tuesday confirmed that its 7-inch and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 2 tablets have been delayed and will now start shipping to the U.K at the end of the month, ComputerWorld reports. When the Android 4.0 slates were announced at this year’s Mobile World Congress, the company said both devices would arrive in U.K. stores in March ahead of a global rollout. According to a Samsung spokesman, complications with Ice Cream Sandwich caused the delay is due to Ice Cream Sandwich, which both Samsung and Google need more time to work on. This isn’t the first time Samsung has run into problems with Android 4.0. Last month the manufacturer delayed its original upgrade plan for the Galaxy Note from the...

Recruits to Samsung over the past year include several AMD titans from across the gamut, with chips for servers appearing to be the next aim of Samsung’s SoC business.

Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S III already being tested in Korea

Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S III already being tested in Korea

Posted on Apr 04, 2012 by MG3

There’s a lot of misinformation on the internet about the Samsung Galaxy S III and we’re just going to contribute to that mess today by linking to some more rumors. First rumor, from a Koren publication called DDaily, is that the Galaxy S III will have a 4.65 inch AMOLED display that pushes 1280 x 720 pixels and doesn’t use the PenTile subpixel configuration. What does that mean in layman’s terms? The Galaxy S III will have an ultra sharp display, text will be smooth as hell, and it’ll make you drool. Second rumor, from another Korean publication called AsiaE, is that local operators are already testing the Galaxy S III. Samsung is a bit worried though, since testing usually takes two months...

More recently, Sprint's variant of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was spotted coasting through the FCC, and now it's practically a lock to launch between three and six weeks from now. We've received word that Sprint has initiated employee training specifically for the Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0, which will enlighten staff on the benefits of the handset, ICS and Google Wallet. Those involved with the training have to wrap things up within the next fortnight, leading us to believe that it'll make its way into retail outlets in late April or early May. A functional Android Ice Cream Sandwich build for the one and only Samsung Galaxy Note has leaked on the Internets, and it even comes as a trendy one-click installer Odin file.
Don't expect the Premium Suite with this leak, just Android 4.0 covered in a layer of TouchWiz, but it should be good to play around with until the official thing hits this quarter. Your internal memory gets wiped during install, so make sure you move the stuff out temporarily while updating.
