As a video search aggregator, the app will find results for whatever you want to watch from a range of services and sources.

Samsung releases list of U.S. smartphones, tablets to get Android 4.0 ICS upgrades

Posted on Apr 24, 2012 by MG3

Samsung has posted a list of the smartphones and tablets available in the U.S. that it plans to upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at some point this year. Most of the phones on the list have already been promised upgrades to Android 4.0 by their carriers, but it never hurts to have further confirmation from the manufacturer. Still missing from the upgrade list? Any variant of the original Galaxy S, though, that's not entirely unexpected.

Verizon promise Windows Phone 8 handsets for the holiday season

Posted on Apr 24, 2012 by MG3

Verizon Wireless has not exactly been supportive of Windows Phone 7 so far. Now in a surprise announcement Verizon’s chief financial officer Fran Shammo has told Reuters said the company wants a third strong software competitor in the mobile market and were prepared to do what it takes to make Windows Phone that operating system.

Nokia Windows Phone 8 handsets showing up on T-Mobile, Verizon

Nokia Windows Phone 8 handsets showing up on T-Mobile, Verizon

Posted on Apr 23, 2012 by MG3

Moving away from the hubbub about Windows Phone 8 upgrades, we now also have increasing evidence of actual new Windows Phone 8 hardware being tested in the wild.
The latest is via DSLReport’s mobile speed test, which shows the user agent of two Windows Phone 8 handsets, one named Qualcomm Fluid and the other Nokia Fluid. Both of course have been spotted before, but now the full user agent confirms that these are Windows Phone 8 handsets running IE10.
The Verizon handset also seems pretty snappy, likely indicating LTE on board. The same can unfortunately not be said for the T-Mobile speed test.

Users should get a notification on their handsets when the update is ready to be downloaded and installed.

Mystery HTC Ice Cream Sandwich phone for Verizon surfaces

Mystery HTC Ice Cream Sandwich phone for Verizon surfaces

Posted on Feb 13, 2012 by MG1

Looky what we have here – a brand new HTC Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone! What's that model we're dealing with here? Well, you might be surprised, but we actually don't have a clue. We were recently approached by a tipster of ours who was generous enough to share these pics with us. Thanks to the photos, we can learn quite a bit about this mysterious handset, but unfortunately, we can't be sure how it's going to be called, or what carriers it may end up on. However, some of our observant readers have noted that the 4G LTE logo that's visible during the loading screen is the one that Verizon uses for its handsets, so that's a pretty good guess as to where the phone may end up.

Android 4.0.4 ROM leaks for Verizon's Galaxy Nexus

Android 4.0.4 ROM leaks for Verizon's Galaxy Nexus

Posted on Feb 08, 2012 by MG1

A little gem known as Android 4.0.4 wriggled its way onto the interweb last week, and while it was geared specifically for Sprint's Nexus S 4G, a similar version has just cropped up for the CDMA / LTE Galaxy Nexus from Verizon. While it's only available for tenacious users who've unlocked their bootloader, it seems that a host of improvements are on deck for the official release. First and foremost, the ROM is said to be noticeably faster, with the speed gains also extending to the web browser and the device's boot time. The release also packs a new radio file that (at least from user impressions) offers more seamless transitions between the CDMA and LTE networks. All in all, the rest of the...

Verizon's Galaxy Nexus updated to Android 4.1.0, finally ready to dance?

Verizon's Galaxy Nexus updated to Android 4.1.0, finally ready to dance?

Posted on Dec 05, 2011 by MG1

A lucky human known as "Bradgog" posted the above screenshot to a thread on My Droid World last night, ostensibly heralding the arrival of Android 4.1 on Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Nexus. As you can see in the image (purportedly taken on Verizon's 3G network), the firmware update appears to bring a new baseband radio to the handset, which, in turn, may explain the delay in bringing the device to Big Red's stable. It's hard to say for sure, though we should have a clearer idea any day now.

Verizon restarts HTC DROID Incredible Gingerbread deployment

Posted on Nov 15, 2011 by MG1

HTC and Verizon Wireless have apparently restarted the deployment of the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the original DROID Incredible. Initially released back in September, the companies pulled the update shortly after it went out for undisclosed reasons. Here we are over two months later and users are reporting left and right that the upgrade is once again available to them. Users should get a notification on their devices when the update is ready to be downloaded and installed, or they can manually check through the Settings app on the phone itself.

Gingerbread update for Verizon's LG Revolution is being pushed out as we speak

Gingerbread update for Verizon's LG Revolution is being pushed out as we speak

Posted on Nov 02, 2011 by MG1

Sure it might have been the least favorable of the initial three 4G LTE smartphone offerings from Verizon Wireless, but in any event, the LG Revolution is finally packing its Froyo bags and moving right up to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Naturally, the wait was a lengthy one for handset owners, but it’s nonetheless ever so sweet for them.
Bringing up its software version to VS910ZV7, the update brings forth the entire usual suspect of features commonly associated with the sweet tasting snack. Beyond that, it packs along a few things that enhance both the email and messaging experience. And of course, it’s packing some other enhancements and bug fixes to fine tune the overall experience for users...

Verizon Mango update also coming on the 27th September

Posted on Sep 26, 2011 by MG3

We believe AT&T will roll out the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update on the 27th, and now Verizon customer support appears to suggest the CDMA carrier will be launching the software update on the same day also.
Of course customer service reps are not always the most knowledgeable and accurate in the world, but the 27th seems as likely a day as any to bring all those HTC Trophies up to date.
