Multiple Ice Cream Sandwich beta ROMs for the Galaxy S II have started to trickle out, according to YouMobile. Floodgates, however, are still not widely open, since the new ROM requires Samsung Kies software and can’t be installed over the air. What’s more, we’re not sure every Galaxy S II user can get its Android 4.0 fix — Kies software updates are known to target select markets so you may not see it just yet.

The Galaxy Nexus may be the only Samsung device that runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at this time, but a whole bunch of smartphones and tablets are going to join the party in the near future. That is what becomes certain after the company posted on its Facebook page a list of Galaxy devices that are definitely getting updated to Android's latest and greatest version.
The Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II will be the first to be treated to an update at some point during the first quarter of 2012. Update for Adobe Flash Player fixes issues on Samsung Galaxy S II and more

While Adobe isn't making any broad updates for the Flash Player after its update for Ice Cream Sandwich flavored devices, it did promise to support the application. Now available in the Android Market, Flash Player version 11.1.111.5 repairs video streaming problems found on the Samsung Galaxy S II. The update also adds support for 1080p video on devices powered by the quad-core Tegra 3 like the Asus Transformer Prime. Even if you don't have those devices, because of security enhancements installed on the update, Adobe recommends installing the update.

Few days ago one of our readers sent me a question, asking me which is the best device in T-Mobile’s portfolio. I immediately responded – Samsung Galaxy S II.
First of all, T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II is pretty much the fastest Galaxy S II out there. Sure there’s AT&T’s Skyrocket version that sings along LTE, but as you probably know – LTE signal isn’t available everywhere. What’s more, even if you get it and presuming you’re in the area where both AT&T’s LTE and T-Mobile’s HSPA+ signals are rock solid – you would hardly notice a difference. T-Mobile’s version of Sammy’s superphone supports download speeds of up to 42 Mbps!

Samsung Galaxy S II nearly explodes while in a man's pocket

A man by the name of Silly22 on the XDA Developers forum recently posted images of a badly damaged Samsung Galaxy S II along with a mildly terrifying story of why it looks the way it does. The story goes something like this: a friend of Silly22 had the smartphone pictured below in his pocket when all of a sudden he felt a burning sensation in his leg. When he pulled the device out of his pocket smoke started coming out. The victim (how often do we get to use that word?!) says that his device is barely 2 weeks old and that he wasn’t even using it that heavily.

AT&T Reveals First LTE Phones: HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket

Samsung has released a new firmware update for its Galaxy S II superphone. The new software makes your thin smartphone run Android 2.3.6, adding new features and fixing some of the known bugs. For instance, the software fixes lockscreen hang bug, introduces some changes on the Camera Interface, increases HSPA connectivity speed (more than 21Mbps?), while making the boot-up faster. Additionally, there are a number of security and performance improvements under the hood.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 will be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the company’s UK arm has confirmed this week via Twitter.
While it should come as no surprise – even six months on, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is still just about the most powerful phone on the market, and to ignore it would be a shock – it is reassuring to see Samsung publicly committing to it.
Ice Cream Sandwich, which launches on the Galaxy Nexus today, includes many new features, including face recognition unlock, improved voice commands and dictations, an overhauled UI and better multi-taking, with screenshots of each running app.

The crafty developers behind one of the most popular mods for Android, have brought ICS, but it's not exactly in its vanilla form. You'd still get MIUI's signature looks and customization and not the neon glow of Android 4.0, so while you lose the UI elements, the functionality is there.

Samsung Italy has apparently confirmed that the company’s high-end devices (i.e. those with a dual-core processor) will all get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. In other words, the list of products that will be blessed with the latest version of Android includes:
