ASUS kicked off its Radeon HD 7800 series with two non-reference design implementations, DirectCu II TOP, at that. Both the ASUS Radeon HD 7870 and Radeon HD 7850 DirectCu II TOP use a 2-slot variant of ASUS’ coveted dual-fan cooler, and based on what appear to look like a non-reference design PCBs. The DirectCu II cooler consists of a combination of a heatsink and an aluminum fin array, to which heat is conveyed by copper heat-pipes that make direct contact with the GPU die. The cooler makes use of two large fans to ventilate the heatsink. As TOP models, the two should feature 5-10% factory OC, out of the box. There’s no word on the pricing.

Posted on Mar 06, 2012 by MG1

Speaking to Pocket-lint, Asus said they were waiting for circumstances to be right to launch a Windows Phone.
"We are very close with Microsoft. When we think it is the right time of course we will do it," Benson Lin, the global head of Asus’ handheld division said at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The company however remains focussed on Android handsets at present, but Lin was pretty familiar with Windows Phone.
"In my pocket, I always carry two competitor products. At the moment I have a HTC Titan and a Galaxy Nexus," he said.

Just looking over their current portfolio, there’s no arguing that Asus is carefully plotting its dominion in the Android space, and with many highly anticipated devices in the horizon, such as the multi-purpose Padfone, it’s abundantly evident that they’re building a solid army of Android devices to fight against the competition. However, we haven’t seen anything in regards to Windows Phone, well, except for a prototype unit that they concocted that ended up being only a preview handset to developers.
Interestingly enough, Asus’ global head of handheld divisions, Benson Lin, recently made it clear in an interview that they will go forward with a Windows Phone device of some sort when the ti...

The iPad 3 is going to double the resolution with its new Retina Display. The teaser is clearly about display resolution. The form factor of the box filled with balls resembles a tablet. Watch the Asus teaser video below. The battery is only a three-cell, 4,400mAh and the 2-megapixel webcam certainly isn't anything special, but they are at least encased in a magnesium-aluminum alloy body. A mi...
