HTC EVO 3D bootloader unlock tool now available from HTC
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCEVO 3D
It's been just a few short days since HTC made the bootloader unlock tool available for European versions of its Sensation smartphone, but now owners of the EVO 3D on Sprint can join the party as well. The unlocking tool for the EVO 3D has been made available on HTC's developer website. It requires that users download the latest over-the-air software update for their phones, and it will, of course, void any and all warranties. Cue the custom ROM explosion for the EVO 3D in 3..2..1..

HTC Puccini screens leak (again), to be known as Jetstream on AT&T?
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsHTC
HTC's Puccini tablet is shaping up to be the company's worst kept secret. This latest batch of leaked screen shots over on PocketNow show off the tab's skinned homescreen where a clearly visible AT&T widget indicates a missing SIM card, and the Settings menu which points us to the product's possible release name -- Jetstream. The 10-inch slate, said to pack a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera and Scribe functionality, appears to have a "true" 4G LTE AT&T destiny ahead of it, with a potential launch coming before the close of this year. Make sure to hit the source below for an additional look at this Android slate.

Gingerbread update for HTC DROID Incredible delayed
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsHTCGoogleDroid IncredibleAndroid 2.3
We recently reported that the HTC DROID Incredible might not be getting upgraded to Android 2.3. However, according to Android Central, Verizon was ready to send out the update yesterday to 10,000 DROID Incredible users, followed by 50,000 today and the remaining owners of the device on Friday. Unfortunately, it seems that Big Red has put the kibosh on a Gingerbread snack for the HTC DROID Incredible as it appears that the software needs more work.

The Black Screen of Death is afflicting some HTC EVO 3D users
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCEVO 3D GSM
While the XBox 360 has the "Red Ring of Death" that appears when a unit has bought the farm, it appears that some HTC EVO 3D units have the "Black Screen of Death" that shuts down the phone for good. All of the usual attempts of resuscitation fail as the battery pull, the wall toss and the extra decibel scream shock fail to revive the smartphone, which continues to show nothing more than a black screen after each attempt.

HTC Finally Offers Bootloader Unlock, U.S. Users Must Wait
Like UnlikeFiled in: HTC
HTC has spent the past few weeks hinting and teasing us with the availability of their bootloader unlock tool, but at long last the wait is over. If you own an international HTC Sensation, then congratulations: you’re free to mosey over to HTC Dev to get your fix.
Android developers and enthusiasts alike shouldn’t have much trouble, especially considering the excellent quality of HTC’s walkthrough, but a little extra caution couldn’t hurt. Newbies to the Android development scene, on the other hand, should really take things slowly: the process involves working with the Android SDK, which takes a little bit of getting used to for the uninitiated. Even though HTC does a fine job of walking yo...

HTC Bliss stops by the FCC dressed in Verizon red (update)
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCBliss
Looking for a little FCC Friday rapture? HTC's rumored "women only" smartphone, the Bliss, just passed through the Commission's gates for a bit of strut and tell. Sporting the model number PI46110, the handset seems destined for a Big Red debut with CDMA 850MHz / 1900MHz bands, WiFi and Bluetooth on-board. The carrier looks to be continuing its recent trend of global-capable phones, as the device also packs a GSM 900MHz radio. While we weren't able to dig out any concrete dimensions for the phone, we'd err on the side of a 4-inch or below display, considering VZW's past dalliances with gender-specific marketing -- no, we haven't forgotten those Pre Plus ads. If that leaked roadmap is any ind...

Does the HTC Ruby have a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon under its hood?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCAmaze 4G
We recently reported that the HTC Ruby was headed to T-Mobile, thanks to pictures that show the carrier's branding on the case of the handset. At the time, we had no idea if this was to be a budget priced phone for the kiddies, or a heavy duty, high-end device for power users. As it turns out, specs of the device obtained by TmoNews suggest that the HTC Ruby fits into the latter category.

Leak: HTC Mazaa: Looks like the HTC Trophy for Verizon, but with Mango
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCMazaa
Microsoft finished work on the next version of Windows Phone, dubbed Mango, a little over two weeks ago. Between now and the end of the end of this year you can expect to see a slew of smartphones running Mango hitting the market. We’ve seen one already, the Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T, but that’s not going to be available outside of Japan. So what can we (Europeans and Americans) look forward to come this holiday shopping season? Pictured above is the HTC Mazaa, which looks like the HTC Trophy that Verizon Wireless started selling less than three months ago, but it’s running Windows Phone Mango. According to the guy who supplied said photo, it feels “faster” than any other previous Windows Phone....
