DFT and Orange Team together create HTC HD2 ROM which can be updated normally by Microsoft
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsMicrosoftHTCHD2HD2 USWindows Phone 7
The Dark Forces Team and Orange Team have combined their forces and achieved the seemingly impossible – they have created a ROM for the HTC HD2 which can be updated normally like any other Windows Phone 7 handset over the Zune desktop client.
Beyond this the ROM also retains Root and ChevronWP7 status, meaning users are both free to edit the registry and side-load applications.
Lastly the ROM also allows custom packages to be side-loaded via Zune, making for the ultimate custom ROM machine.

HTC Omega renders show front-facing camera
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCRadar
The Windows Phone Mango-powered HTC Omega is expected to be part of the big announcement at the HTC event that will be taking place on September 1st across four European countries. But, we've gotten leaked render images of what the Omega is expected to look like a little ahead of time thanks to Pocketnow.
The HTC Omega, which may be called the HTC Radar upon launch, is expected to be packing a single-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon SoC, a 3.8" S-LCD screen, 512 MB RAM, an 8 MP rear-facing camera, and based on the renders, a front-facing camera as well. It was just leaked by Windows Phone NZ from the TechEd event in New Zealand that front-facing camera support would be part of Windows Phone Mango, ...

Check out a couple of these screenshots posted by the guys over at XDA China that show what could possibly be the finalized version of the HTC Sense 3.5 user interace for Android devices.
One of the screenshots shows the lock screen which looks to be the same as the one featured on HTC Sense 3.0. The home screens are where most of the changes are made. The icons, including the ones for the phone and for the menu have been revamped.

HTC Bliss gets its clearest photo session yet, shows off front-facing camera
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCBliss
The HTC Bliss is undoubtedly going through the typical pre-launch routine: it's passed through the ranks of the FCC, received its first Blurrycam session, and now we're finally seeing the upcoming device up close and personal. The folks at XDA China got their hands on one and took a few high-quality images for the world to see, which means we're probably not too far away from the phone's forthcoming release. They confirmed that the Bliss will in fact run on HTC Sense 3.5, feature a front-facing camera, and that it will come in a variety of colors. So, will we find this on display at next week's HTC meetup? Or maybe our team will get some hands-on time at IFA? And will this "female-oriented" ...

HTC EVO Design 4G leak confirms specs
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCEVO Design 4G
The HTC EVO Design 4G, formerly known has the HTC Kingdom, is a Sprint bound device that we have only known preliminary information until now thanks to a leaked photo and some confirmation on the smartphone’s specs.
For a while it was believed that the HTC Kingdom would be called the HTC Hero 4G. Instead, it was given the EVO moniker just as 2 smartphones (and 1 tablet) had before it. The specifications of the HTC EVO Design 4G are pretty much what they were first rumored to be.

White HTC EVO 3D gets exclusive RadioShack bow on September 9th
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCEVO 3D
If Wall-E's lady friend, Eve, and Spielberg's E.T. were to come together in engineering matrimony, we're pretty sure this white EVO 3D would be the resulting offspring. This "rare and beautiful" unicorn from HTC's beastly, dual-core Android herd hails from the Hesse-led network, and will be available as a RadioShack exclusive on September 9th. The electronics retailer dipped more than just its toes into our 21st century ways (or more likely hired a new intern), getting the message out via its Twitter account, and snapping an Instagram shot of the bleached handset. Pricing for the phone has yet to be announced, but we'd be surprised if this gets a premium over its $199 on-contract twin.

HTC Puccini in the wild, AT&T LTE support confirmed!
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsHTC
Have a gander. Take as long as you need. That, friends, is the AT&T-bound HTC Puccini, and it'll be the first tablet to hit Ma Bell with inbuilt LTE support. According to our sources, the Android-based slate is currently in testing, and should be hitting the markets in the not-too-distant future. 'Course, AT&T just started shipping its first two LTE devices, but having something other than a WWAN modem would certainly be appreciated. As for specs? We've confirmed that a 1.5GHz dual-core processor is onboard, alongside 1GB of RAM, Honeycomb, 16GB of storage and a 10.1-inch WXGA touchpanel.

Failbook Phone: AT&T Already Looking To Ditch The HTC Status, Says Source
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCStatus
Surprise! Even a clever little gimmick like a dedicated Facebook button can’t save a bad phone from an early demise.
After just 36 days on the shelves, a trusted source close to AT&T tells us the carrier is already prepping to ditch HTC’s so-called “Facebook Phone”, the Status. The reason? The thing just isn’t selling.
Since the initial tipster came forward, we’ve confirmed with multiple sources that sales of the Status are considerably lower than anyone expected. AT&T declined to comment.

New Windows Phone 7 handsets are possibly being unveiled at HTC's event as well?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsMicrosoftHTCWindows Phone 7Windows Phone 7.5
All eyes will surely be placed on HTC just one day before IFA is expected to commence over in Germany, and of course, the big name speculated to arrive at HTC’s various events being held on September 1st throughout Europe is none other than the HTC Puccini. However, we may very well see some new Windows Phone 7 handsets from them as well.
In fact, it’s becoming increasingly obvious since fall signals the release of Mango to the masses – and what better way to flaunt it with brand spanking new devices? Taking a peek over at the Windows Phone UK Facebook page, their post regarding the September 1st London event significantly indicates that Windows Phone 7’s presence will be there. As much as ...

HTC Evo 3D gets 6 Sept UK release date
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCEVO 3D GSM
The HTC Evo 3D is alive and kicking in the UK and coming to our shores in less than three weeks.
The Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy have announced pre-order is now online for the dimensionally-advanced handset and confirmed an HTC Evo 3D UK release date of 6 September.
However, it's not going to be cheap - the Evo 3D will set you back £36 per month on a (likely) two year deal - far more than the HTC Sensation, which comes in at £30 per calendar unit.

HTC Releases Evo 3D Bootloader Unlock Tool
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCEVO 3DEVO 3D GSM
It’s only been a few days since HTC got its bootloader unlock tool up and running, but unfortunately it was only made available to owners of the European/international version of the HTC Sensation. Obviously that didn’t do a lot to help our American hackers get what they want. But today, HTC threw some love our way making the bootloader unlock tool available to owners of the HTC Evo 3D, according to HTC’s Facebook page.
If you’re interested in a little Evo customization, head on over to HTC Dev for instructions. You’ll have to download the next update, which will come over the air. And just in case you’re a noob, it’s only fair that I warn you: unlocking the bootloader on your phone voids a...

HTC EVO 3D and Motorola PHOTON 4G $99 at Amazon with free activation until tomorrow
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCMotorolaEVO 3DPHOTON 4G
Two of the best Android handsets money can currently buy in the US - the HTC EVO 3D and the Motorola PHOTON 4G - got lowered to $99 on Amazon for new contracts.
What's more, until midnight today, your activation fee for Sprint is waived as well, which makes the deal $36 sweeter.
We can't argue with the phrase that good things come to those who wait, but in this case you might have to wait for the holiday season for these two handsets to become free on contract, so if you have been eying one of them, now might be the time to pull the trigger.

It looks like HTC may have some news in store for us on September 1st, when the company holds one of its public meetups in London. The folks over at Pocket-Lint noticed the event on HTC's Facebook page today, where the manufacturer posted an open invitation for the public to "come party" and "see what's next."

Apple, HTC might scale back phone orders due to economy
Like UnlikeFiled in: AppleHTC
Despite talk of Apple having aggressive iPhone production plans, it and others might be throttling back overall orders based on economic worries. Chipset producers in Taiwan rumored late Thursday that both Apple and HTC were paring back orders for the summer. Apple in particular was also supposedly reducing parts for iPhones in late summer, Digitimes added.
