Samsung has officially unveiled a second-generation 27-inch Series 9 monitor, with the S27A970 to be shown off at CES 2012 next week.
The stylish monitor is a flagship offering from Samsung taking on the mantle from the Samsung T27A950, and includes the company's proprietary Natural Colour Expert tech and boasts a resolution of 2560x1440.

The last time HP unveiled a monitor it was chasing gamers looking for a little 3D on a budget, but this time around, it's got business users on the brain. Specifically, the kind of workers who spend a lot of time away from the office, or perhaps share a workspace with others. That's the idea behind the 23-inch Compaq L2311c Notebook Docking Monitor, which connects to laptops via USB. That same cable will also transmit video, though even HP will admit you'll get far better results if you use USB 3.0 instead of 2.0. This display not only has 3D capabilities, but also full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and a 100000000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Acer has announced two new products that will launch today and can convert your 2D content to 3D for you to enjoy. The products are the HR274H 3D computer display and the new H9500BD projector. The new display has a cool Acer chip-based 3D conversion solution to turn 2D into 3D with no software required. The display also uses passive polarized glasses that are much cheaper than active 3D glasses.

HP unveiled their new 2311gt HD monitor today. The screen measures 23 inches and uses passive 3D technology. It has full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and a 5ms response time. The passive technology uses polarized lenses, which is similar to the 3D technology used in the theaters. HP has included a dual pair of 3D glasses as well. The connection panel includes RGB, DVI, and an HDMI port. This gives the monitor the ability to act like an HDTV, but with limitations. Other major features include a 250 cd/m2 brightness, 2D-to-3D conversion, and a TN LCD display panel. HP stated that the 2311gt will be available soon in the UK. However, the retail price was not announced.

Hot on the heels of BenQ's recent RTS gamers display launch, the Taiwanese firm has announced the addition of two new models to their range aimed at FPS gamers. The XL2420T and XL2420TX are both 24" 3D display models and support Nvidia's 3D Vision 2 technology.
They both feature LED-backlit TN panels with a native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, a 2ms GTG (gray to gray) response time, 120Hz refresh rate, a typical brightness of 350 cd/m2 and a contrast rate of 1,000:1. Wortmann added a new 21.5-inch monitor to its lineup, the Terra LED 2250W. As the name suggests, it is a LED-backlit LCD monitor. It provides full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution support, with a response time of 5 ms, dynamic contrast ratio of 15,000,000:1, and 250 cd/m² typical brightness. To maintain its slim design, this monitor draws power from an external power brick. Thanks to its LED illumination, it draws just 15W. Japanese display maker iiyama released a sleek new 23-inch monitor, the ProLite X2377HDS. It makes use of an LED-backlit IPS panel, that can provide high contrast ratios as well as good viewing angles, of 178°/178°. It features standard 1920 x 1080 resolution, with 5 ms response time, maximum brightness of 250 cd/m², 1000:1 static and 5000000:1 dynamic contrast ratios. Hanns-G released HK241DPB, its latest 23.6-inch monitor. The display continues to use CCFL illumination, but has a high DCR of 80,000:1. It features a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 300 cd/m² brightness, 5 ms response time, apart from the high DCR. Display connectivity includes D-Sub and DVI, there is no HDMI, but DVI is still an HDCP-capable connection. 1.5W stereo speakers wrap up things with this display, which is priced at US $179.99.

Today, AOC was proud to announce their latest HD Monitor, the i2353Fh. This screen measures only 23 inches, diagonally, and comes with the new IPS display panel. This panel is designed to provide better image quality and a quicker response time. The monitor is capable of displaying a 1000:1 contrast ratio and full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. The display also has a LED backlight system for a slim design and reduced energy consumption. AOC highlights that the LED screen measures only 9.6mm (0.4 inches) thick. The i2353Fh is not expected to release until the end of this month and it will be priced at 159 UK pounds ($245).
