Sony Launches New Interchangeable Lens Camcorder: NEX-VG20
Like UnlikeFiled in: CamcordersSonyHandycam NEX-VG20E
In addition to announcing two new NEX cameras—the NEX-7 and NEX-5N—Sony unveiled the NEX-VG20 camcorder, which is the successor to last year’s innovative NEX-VG10. Like the VG10, the VG20 blurs the line between camera and camcorder with its interchangeable lens system that allows it to work with any of Sony’s E-Mount lenses.

New Sony A77 pictures and specifications leaked
Like UnlikeFiled in: CamerasSonyAlpha SLT-A77V
Pictures of a new Sony Alpha camera boasting a three-way tilt screen have made an appearance on German website D-SLT.
The new cam features a movie mode, in-built mic (or at least a mic grille), GPS and what looks like a decent sized APS-C sensor. Rumoured specifications include things like a whopping 24.3-megapixel Exmor HD sensor, plenty for a camera of its size.
Also impressive is the cam's supposed ISO range which extends all the way up to 16000 thanks to what is said to be a newly developed Bionz processor. The new Bionz hardware also helps the camera shoot at 12fps and have just a 50ms shutter time lag.

Sony's NEX-7 exposed (again), spec list in tow
Like UnlikeFiled in: CamerasSonyAlpha NEX-7
Having previously caught a glimpse of Sony's upcoming NEX-7, it was only a matter of time before we saw the whole enchilada. Purported to carry the same 24.3 megapixel Exmor sensor rumored to be in the A77, the compact camera will also allegedly feature an OLED viewfinder and a 3-inch TruBlack LCD. Ostensibly, the 1080p / 24fps shooter also wields a magnesium alloy body, integrated flash and a new auto locking hot shoe. We have a feeling it won't be too long before this puppy becomes official...

Today, Nintendo revealed a new Wii bundle featuring a slightly redesigned console that will not be compatible with GameCube software or accessories.

Sony announces WiFi-less PSP E-1000, hits Europe this fall for €99
Like UnlikeFiled in: Game ConsolesSonyPSP-E1000
Sony had more than just a PS3 price cut to reveal at its Gamescom press conference today: it also announced that it will be releasing a new budget-priced PSP model that sports a new design and curiously ditches the WiFi capability that the PSP has had since its debut. No word of a North American release just yet, but folks in Europe will be able to pick it up this fall for €99 (or about $140, though we're guessing the actual US price would come in below that; the standard PSP-3000 currently demands €130 in Europe). Hit the gallery below for a closer look.

Sony slashes Google TV prices
Like UnlikeFiled in: SonyGoogle
The signs that Google TV may not quite be the living room revolution that the bods over in Mountain View hoped it would be continue apace, with Sony again slashing the prices of its Google TV kit.
At the end of July we told you how Logitech had severely cut the price of its Revue Google TV set top box to $99 to "remove price as a barrier to broad customer acceptance" - a device launched only 9 months prior at cost of $299.99.

Sony's upcoming A77 DSLR has surfaced in a commercial posted on YouTube. It is unclear if the segment fabricated, a genuine leak, or an official teaser released ahead of the camera's formal unveiling. The short video shows the A77 half buried in sand on a beach. The operator then picks up the magnesium-body camera, brushes off sand and takes a snapshot of the water.

The CDX-GT565UP, DSX-S210X, and DSX-S310BTX all stream Pandora's Internet radio from a connected iPhone and go beyond just basic USB or Bluetooth audio. At least on the S210X and S310BTX, all the Pandora controls shift to the receiver, including the thumbs-up/thumbs-down to tune the recommendations.

Sony PlayStation Vita delayed until March 2012?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Game ConsolesSonyPSVITA
No, we’re not joking. The latest pre-order updates from Best Buy and Amazon suggest the Sony PlayStation Vita will not launch in the US and UK until the 30th of March 2012. That’s nearly three months after the December launch in Japan. Following the initial shock of the PS Vita delay, today’s update feels like Sony is rubbing salt in our wounds.

Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and XpanD finally team up for an active 3D glasses standard
Like UnlikeFiled in: SonySamsungPanasonic
The lack of a universal standard for active shutter 3D glasses became painfully clear during our 3D TV shootout last year, and gave plenty of reasons for buyers to skip the pricey specs altogether. Nine months later we see that LG has jumped onto passive 3D and CEA is playing catch up on the IR glasses problem, but many of the new HDTVs for 2011 are using Bluetooth technology to keep their glasses in sync -- again without any promise of cross-manufacturer compatibility. A day late and a few dollars short, Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and universal glasses maker XpanD are announcing the "Full HD Glasses Initiative" which should lay down a standard for consumer active shutter glasses to communicat...

Like UnlikeFiled in: TVsSony
Sony unveiled back in February a new HD Monitor that will provide a unique 3D experience. Today it was unveiled that these monitors will be releasing on December 31st. The monitor will measure 24 inches, diagonally and is the first to feature dual-view technology. This technology is specifically designed for gamers and provides a full screen view for each player. Unfortunately it can only work when two players are playing at the same time. The screen can also be used for 3D content. Sony is looking to bundle the screen with a copy of the PS3 game MotorStorm Apocalypse and a pair of 3D glasses. The package is looking to retail for just under $500.

Additional details about Sony's two tablets S1 and S2 revealed
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsSonyTablet STablet P
Sony never really went into details when it announced its two Honeycomb tablets – S1 and S2. Now we have few additional tidbits of information to share, though we still don’t have the complete picture.
First of all, we know that the S1 — which is the one with a single 9.4-inch IPS LCD display with the TruBlack and BRAVIA technologies — will be available in 4 versions. Users will get to choose between 16 and 32 GB of built-in storage and whether they want the 3G+Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi only version. Moreover, we’ve heard the S1′s battery life will be comparable to that of Apple’s iPad 2, which is about 10 hours.
As for the S2, at least initially it will only be available with both 3G and Wi-Fi connect...
