Unfortunately it does not update the DROID X2 to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and Motorola has not announced plans to do so in the future. Windows Phone accused of being a passionless OS

Claiming the Windows Phone UI lacked “pizzazz” and did not “stimulates the geek” in him like the super-customizable Android, which made him feel each Android device was made just for him, or the folders in iOS (!?!) which he found a “joy to use”, he found scrolling down a long start page particularly disheartening.

Included are Anonymous HOIC, John the Ripper, SQL Poison and more. Chromium OS shown working with desktop manager

Chromium OS shown working with desktop manager

Posted on Mar 15, 2012 by MG3

Since its inception, the Google Chrome operating system for Chromebook computers has been unique in its ability to work completely independently of the desktop environment. Very recently the open-source version of Chrome OS, Chromium, has been seen to be amped up by developers in a setup called Aura Shell to have not only a desktop which interacts directly with the offline storage space of the hardware its running on, but applications other than the Chrome browser being launched directly from the desktop as well. While some might say that this defeats the purpose of Chrome OS entirely, the developers working on this project insist that because this version of the OS still has a very cloud-ba...

Ex-Microsoft Employee Launches 'Fixing Windows 8' Initiative

Ex-Microsoft Employee Launches 'Fixing Windows 8' Initiative

Posted on Mar 15, 2012 by MG3

It seems that Microsoft's latest version of Windows is receiving a mixed reaction: some people like it, and some people don't. Naturally you can't please everyone on the planet, but we really haven't heard this much negativity since Windows Vista. The biggest issue thus far is that Microsoft seemingly caters to the new touchy consumer and brushed aside the old, making Windows 8 difficult to manage using the typical mouse and keyboard setup.

Samsung doesn't deny Android-based camera

Samsung doesn't deny Android-based camera

Posted on Mar 15, 2012 by MG3

Samsung has refused to confirm reports that it is working on an Android-based camera, only to say it is looking at the idea. The non-denial, which says 'it is something we are monitoring,' comes in response to reports from tech website Engadget that it is considering an 'open' camera operating system. However, while the site goes on to speculate that Android makes sense, based on its parent company's use of the OS on its smartphones, we think there are other reasons for Samsung to use Android.

Google confirms it's bringing Metro-themed Chrome browser to Windows 8

Posted on Mar 14, 2012 by MG1

Google has confirmed that it is working on a custom version of its extremely popular Chrome browser for Windows 8, an important step to keep Chrome’s momentum growing so that eventually the browser could grow to be more popular than Internet Explorer.
The version of Chrome for Windows 8 will be built in accord with the Metro UI design idea - that of tiles, typography, simplicity and clean looks. In terms of simplicity, Chrome on the outside has always been an emanation of that idea.
“Our goal is to be able to offer our users a speedy, simple, secure Chrome experience across all platforms, which includes both the desktop and Metro versions of Windows 8. To that end we’re in the process of bui...

Common folk running Windows XP, Vista or 7 should grab GeForce 296.10 as it boosts SLI performance in various titles, including Blacklight: Retribution, Dirt 3, Dishonored, Dungeon Defenders, F1 2011 and rFactor 2.
The update also either improves or adds 3D Vision profiles for Dear Esther and Deep Black: Reloaded. Microsoft to let Windows 8 web browsers play nice with Metro, Firefox version in the works

Microsoft to let Windows 8 web browsers play nice with Metro, Firefox version in the works

Posted on Mar 13, 2012 by MG1

We previously heard that Mozilla was planning a Metro version of Firefox, and now developer Brian R. Bondy has announced that the company has begun work on it. While that's good for Firefox fans, the real news is that the program is going to belong to a new, third type of Windows 8 apps: "Metro style enabled desktop browsers." We're still trying to figure it all out (and we think Microsoft is too), but from what we understand, this new, third type is an exception to Microsoft's rules and lets traditional Windows web browsers participate in the Metro experience. The third category would co-exist alongside Windows 8's two current categories — one for apps in the traditional, Windows 7-like env...
