Possible iPhone 5 frame hints new antenna, new inside

A newly spotted frame obtained by iPatchiPods has hinted that either the iPhone 5, the 8GB iPhone 4, or both will have a redesigned antenna structure. Where the AT&T iPhone 4 has the antenna breaks on the steel frame on the bottom of its left side and the top left, and the CDMA iPhone 4 has both at the top of the sides, the model shown to MacRumors has two at the bottom.
On the current CDMA model, the antennas were placed to account for the different behavior of the radio. The frame shown here has a SIM slot, though whether it's dual-mode or not is still uncertain.

Today, a user from the daily mobile forums has posted an image which he believes is the Nokia 900, a blue-chip Windows Phone due out in early 2012. Samsung releases Bada 2.0 SDK, promises three new Waves

Samsung has announced that it is releasing the Bada 2.0 development kit to app makers, with three new Wave smartphones set to launch before the year is out.
Bada 2.0 brings multitasking, Wi-Fi Direct, near field communications (NFC) and voice recognition with it, as well as support for Flash and HTML5 web browsing and apps.
The three new Wave smartphones, of which we'd expect at least one to make it to the UK, will launch with Bada 2.0 and range from premium to entry-level standards.

The Windows Phone Mango-powered HTC Omega is expected to be part of the big announcement at the HTC event that will be taking place on September 1st across four European countries. Check out a couple of these screenshots posted by the guys over at XDA China that show what could possibly be the finalized version of the HTC Sense 3.5 user interace for Android devices.
One of the screenshots shows the lock screen which looks to be the same as the one featured on HTC Sense 3.0. The home screens are where most of the changes are made. The icons, including the ones for the phone and for the menu have been revamped.

BGR has confirmed with multiple trusted sources that this is accurate — Samsung will not unveil a Verizon-branded GALAXY S II smartphone next week at its New York City launch event on August 29th. Verizon intros GoPayment credit card reader for phones, tablets

In partnership with Intuit, Verizon Wireless introduced a mobile payment solution for small and medium businesses called GoPayment on Thursday. GoPayment will provide customers with a small credit card reader and a mobile application that allows businesses to charge credit cards using a smartphone or tablet. Here’s how it works: a business simply needs to plug the card reader into the 3.5mm audio jack of a tablet or smartphone. Cards can then be swiped and payments are processed immediately. The Motorola DROID 3 is locked down no more. It was a good day for the root community. Earlier today, a root method was finally found for the DROID 3, and just hours later a (pseudo) one-click root method was created by Framework43 and psouza4. And, best of all, it looks like this root method will work on all Motorola phones running Gingerbread, including possibly the soon to be released DROID Bionic.

Pictures of what is alleged to be the casing for the rumored lower priced Apple iPhone model, let's call it the 4S, was obtained by MacRumors from iPatchiPods. The current GSM version of the Apple iPhone 4 has a single seam on top while the CDMA version has two seams on either side of the top. The seams separate the iPhone 4 into different antenna segments. There are two on the GSM version and three on the CDMA variant.

Motrola forced to pull ATRIX ads that claim most powerful smartphone in UK

It looks like Motorola will end up having to rework its advertising plans for the Motorola ATRIX smartphone in the UK, as a court has ruled that it can no longer claim it as the "most powerful" smartphone available. Last month, UK consumers filed a complaint against the tagline, since the Samsung Galaxy S II sports a 1.2GHz processor, compared to the ATRIX's 1GHz chip.
This week, the UK Advertising Standards Authority said that Motorola would have to pull the offending ad, despite Motorola's protests.
