Samsung's Galaxy S III is done, in production, and set to be amazing

Posted on Mar 15, 2012 by MG3

One device that was sorely missed from Mobile World Congress last month was Samsung’s third generation Galaxy S. The South Korean handset maker let us know well in advance that they weren’t going to be showing off their latest flagship at MWC, so it’s not like we were disappointed, but we have to admit that we did feel a bit empty inside. We know the Galaxy S III will be announced during the first half of this year and start shipping soon thereafter, but today we have some new information courtesy of Eldar Murtazin, Editor in Chief of Mobile-Review. According to him the Galaxy S III has been finalized, it’s currently being mass produced, and “preorders from operators/retailers are really hig...

The Samsung-exclusive content includes a Galaxy Note-branded level, the game's first 30-level DLC pack for free, and an exclusive weapon: the Lazer Bird,
This isn't the first time Rovio has offered up exclusive content for its games on specific devices. The level-ending Mighty Eagle was offered to Nook Color owners for free whenever they were playing Angry Birds inside of a Barnes & Noble, and the web version of ...

AT&T version of Samsung GALAXY Note hacked to work on T-Mobile's 4G pipeline

AT&T version of Samsung GALAXY Note hacked to work on T-Mobile's 4G pipeline

Posted on Mar 14, 2012 by MG1

If you have been watching those Samsung GALAXY Note ads on television, or know someone with the "phablet," you might ask why others get all of the fun. If the problem is that you're an AT&T customer and don't have an upgrade at this time, and you don't want to pay the retail price, well there is not much anyone can do for you outside of giving you the money you need to buy the device. On the other hand, if the problem is merely that you are a T-Mobile customer, there is some hope for you.
Thanks to those Mensa members at XDA developers, there is a hack that will allow you to use the AT&T version of the Samsung GALAXY Note (i717) on the 4G network belonging to the fourth largest carrier in th...

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G to launch via T-Mobile on March 28th for $149 on contract

Posted on Mar 13, 2012 by MG1

The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will be launched March 28th via T-Mobile at a price of $149.99 with a signed two-year pact. Don't let the price fool you, the device has some decent specs including the dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 processor, a 3.97 Super AMOLED display with WVGA resolution, Android 2.3 and 42Mbps HSDPA+ connectivity. The 5MP camera on back offers AF and captures video at 720p
While Android 4.0 won't be loaded on the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G right out of the box, the odds favor the handset getting updated to Google's latest and greatest not terribly long after launch. The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will join with the Samsung Galaxy S II and the HTC Amaze to form a rather power...

Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus coming to India for March launch

Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus coming to India for March launch

Posted on Mar 12, 2012 by MG1

Samsung apparently is about to launch a new phone in India later this month, the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus. This is not the high-end Samsung Ace 2, but is an entry-level device that was originally introduced in January. The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus also made the trip to Barcelona last month for MWC and Indian online retailer Flipkart says it will ship on March 21st. For now though, Flipkart is accepting pre-orders for the phone, which will cost 16,275 INR ($327 USD).
The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus will come to market with a 3.65 HVGA display, and a rather meager pixel density of 158 ppi. a single-core 1GHz processor captains the ship with 512MB of RAM on board. The unit offers 3GB of native storage...

Samsung teases Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update

Samsung teases Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update

Posted on Mar 09, 2012 by MG1

Samsung is toying with our emotions as it announced the Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update would be available tomorrow, only for it to dismiss the report hours later.
The initial report regarding the Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update appeared on Samsung's Filipino portal and declared Galaxy S2 users would be able to upgrade their handsets on March 10.
Unfortunately Samsung was quick to respond via its Samsung Tomorrow Twitter account, stating that the Filipino announcement was "wrong" and "not true".
Hopes dashed, tears shed
We've been waiting for what seems like an eternity for the Ice Cream Sandwich update to hit the Galaxy S2 and Samsung is still unwilling to provide an...

White Galaxy Nexus 16GB coming to Verizon on April 5th?

White Galaxy Nexus 16GB coming to Verizon on April 5th?

Posted on Mar 06, 2012 by MG3

We’ve been seeing photos of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus all decked out in white, but so far no word on a U.S. release date. According to a device launch schedule given to Droid-Life, it appears that the 16GB version of the Galaxy Nexus will be arriving at Verizon on April 5th in both the white and gray variety.
While many of you will be disappointed that there won’t be a white 32GB Galaxy Nexus, it may be good news for those hoping to score a Galaxy Nexus at a more equitable rate – it seems likely that the launch of the versions with less internal memory will be concurrent with a reduction in price. At that point we’d expect the Galaxy Nexus to be $199 on contract, and likely less from other re...

Samsung Galaxy S Advance with AT&T 3G is at the FCC

Samsung Galaxy S Advance with AT&T 3G is at the FCC

Posted on Mar 06, 2012 by MG3

Samsung Galaxy S Advance, you know that Sammy smartphone that sits somewhere between the original Galaxy S and Galaxy S II, has been spotted at the FCC, where the government-employed engineers got to play with it before it’s potentially introduced to the U.S. market. We say “potentially,” since the fact that some device gets FCC’s seal of approval doesn’t necessarily mean it will be introduced by an U.S. carrier.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket: The cheapest Galaxy yet

Samsung Galaxy Pocket: The cheapest Galaxy yet

Posted on Mar 06, 2012 by MG3

Samsung has just announced yet another Galaxy device, the Galaxy Pocket. It’s the exact opposite of the massive 5.3 inch Galaxy Note. With the Pocket you’re looking at a 2.8 inch screen that pushes the now ancient resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, it has a 2 megapixel fixed focus camera, runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a single core 800 MHz processor, and of course comes with all the associated radios (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS) you’d expect from most modern smartphones. We don’t have an exact price for this thing, but we do know it’s going to come to the UK “later this year”. If we had to take a guess, we’d say it’s going to cost no more than 150 EUR. In fact, we’d go so far as to say it’ll cost j...

Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update out next week

Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update out next week

Posted on Mar 06, 2012 by MG1

Samsung Galaxy S2 owners will be getting their first taste of Ice Cream Sandwich on March the 15th, according to Samsung Israel. Yup, looks like that Android 4.0 update is coming right on cue.
Samsung may have been the first to get an Android 4.0 phone to market, but that was one of Google’s bleeding-edge Nexus phones. Regular Joe Galaxy owners knew they would have to wait for Sammy to tweak ICS and bolt on its TouchWiz UI ‘improvements’.

No Samsung Galaxy S III launch for April

Posted on Mar 06, 2012 by MG1

Rumours had been circulating on the web after a report from ZDNet Korea touting an April arrival, but Samsung has taken to Twitter to debunk the claims.

Samsung Galaxy S III allegedly confirmed for April launch

Samsung Galaxy S III allegedly confirmed for April launch

Posted on Mar 05, 2012 by MG1

Aside from the next-gen iPhone, the Samsung Galaxy S III is certainly the most anticipated device of this whole year. Samsung’s 2012 flagship has now allegedly been confirmed to launch as early as April, soon after its official announcement which is yet to come. ZDNet Korea reports about the launch date after it spoke with Cheil Worldwide, Samsung’s marketing and ad agency, which is preparing the device for the market in the UK.
Now, it looks like ZDNet refers to the official arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S III to shelves in April, at least in the first markets of availability. We’re not yet clear about when the device will arrive stateside, but we expect it to be later on in the year.
