As part of its customer loyalty program, Verizon Wireless is offering select 4G LTE smartphones for free — provided you sign up for a new contract. According to Droid Life, a recent email sent out to Verizon customers revealed a trio of devices as part of the program, including the Galaxy Nexus, Droid Razr, and Samsung Stratosphere, all of which can be had for free if you renew your contract with Verizon for another two years. We've reached out to Verizon for some more details — including who actually qualifies for the deal — but have yet to hear back as of this writing.
Update: a Verizon spokesperson has told us that the limited time promotion is not nationwide, but instead limited only to ...

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is finally official: S Pen supporting tablet
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsung
he Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has just been officially confirmed and it’s as real as you imagined it - a 10.1-inch tablet with a dual-core processor and support for the S Pen. The S Pen support is actually what defines and will define the Galaxy Note series for Samsung. At the same time, Samsung will keep the Tab lineup for traditional no-stylus tablets.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 features Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with the TouchWiz skin on top. It also comes with a number of tweaks for the Wacom-based S Pen - you can sketch in a dedicated app which is brought by a double tap on the screen while holding the pen button, you can annotate screenshots and you have Adobe Photoshop Touch and Adobe Id...

Samsung announces Galaxy Note 10.1 with Android 4.0, dual-core chipset and S Pen
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsSamsungGoogleAndroid 4.0
Samsung on Monday took the wraps off another new addition to its Android tablet lineup, the Galaxy Note 10.1. Like the supersized “phablet” it joins in the Galaxy Note family, the Note 10.1 includes Samsung’s S Pen stylus for drawing, note-taking, highlighting and much more. Sadly, this still isn’t the high-definition slate we’ve been waiting for so it looks like Samsung is shooting to launch its Retina-like tablet later this year. The 10-inch Galaxy Note runs Samsung’s TouchWiz UI atop Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and includes a 1.4GHz dual-core processor along with the same cameras found in the original Galaxy Tab 10.1. In fact, the Note 10.1 essentially seems like a redesigned Galaxy Ta...

Specs for the Samsung Galaxy S III, the rumored successor to one of the most popular Android devices to date, have been obtained by Boy Genius Report.
Sources are reporting the upcoming device will feature a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, which is a faster clockspeed than my 13-inch MacBook Air. A spacious 4.8-inch 1080p HD display will consume the front of the phone, and with a 16:9 aspect ratio, it’ll be stunning for entertainment. Above that, a 2MP camera for video calling and of course a higher quality 8MP shooter on the back. Obviously, the Galaxy S III will be equipped with 4G LTE and run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Samsung intros 10.1-inch Galaxy Note
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsung
Samsung has expanded its Galaxy Note lineup to include a 10.1-inch tablet. The Note 10.1 integrates a 1280x800 display that appears to match the Galaxy Tab 10.1 panel, though the new model jumps from a 1GHz chip to a 1.4GHz dual-core processor to match the five-inch Note.
The Note 10.1 keeps the same two-megapixel front-facing camera as its smaller counterpart, however the larger tablet steps down from an eight-megapixel camera to a three-megapixel shooter with autofocus and flash for the back panel.

Samsung unveils new Galaxy Beam smartphone / projector combo with dual core CPU
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungGalaxy Beam
Samsung has finally started to reveal its new products at MWC 2012, starting with this refresh of the Galaxy Beam packing Android 2.3 and a 1GHz dual-core CPU. Just like its predecessor it brings an integrated projector capable of 15 lumens of brightness, enough to shoot a high definition image that's up to 50 inches wide. There's a dedicated app that activates the projection, letting users pump out video and pictures, as well as interact with games when the 4-inch WVGA screen just isn't big enough. It has a 2000 mAh battery to keep the party going -- handy when you're stuck somewhere inconvenient with a few dozen of your coworkers -- 8GB of built-in storage and a claimed 6GB of RAM (we're d...

Samsung Galaxy S III 4.8″ display and ceramic chassis tipped
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungGalaxy S III
Samsung’s much-anticipated Galaxy S III smartphone will pack a whopping 4.8-inch display, according to the latest rumors, along with the unusual choice of ceramic rather than plastic for the back panel. The oversized display hasn’t been detailed by BGR‘s insiders as to technology or resolution, though a Super AMOLED Plus likely offering at least 720p HD is probably on the cards. Meanwhile, Samsung’s publicly-stated intention of not revealing the Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress next week is apparently so that it can prepare for a huge, simultaneous multi-location release.

Samsung Galaxy S II sells over 20 million units in 10 months
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungGalaxy S II
Samsung announced in late September that the company sold 10 million Galaxy S II smartphones, and five months later the popular handset has crossed the 20-million shipment mark. The smartphone’s predecessor, the Galaxy S, took 17 months to reach the same milestone according to Samsung. When the Galaxy S II launched in April, it quickly became the company’s fastest selling smartphone. Sales are sure to slow in the coming months, however, with Samsung rumored to launch the highly anticipated Galaxy S III in April.

Samsung Rugby Smart offers ruggedized construction and Android 2.3 on AT&T for $99.99
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungRugby Smart
If you've been looking enviously at the Motorola Defy+ and its semi-waterproof construction, AT&T and Samsung might have the phone for you. The upcoming Samsung Rugby Smart is claimed to be dustproof, temperature-resistant, and able to sit in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes, much like the aforementioned Defy+ and the recently-launched Pantech Element tablet. The Rugby Smart's other specs are a bit more pedestrian: it'll include HSPA+ connectivity, a 3.7-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, 4GB of internal storage (with a microSD slot), 1650mAh battery, and 5MP rear camera that can shoot 720p video. There's also the requisite front-facing camera for video chat, and, of course, Android 2.3 ...

Samsung Rugby Smart gets rendered as it anxiously awaits our drops and kicks
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungRugby Smart
Rugged phones seem to be the exception more than the rule when it comes to smartphones. However, AT&T apparently has one in the pipeline dubbed the Samsung Rugby Smart. Destined to be the latest addition to the lineup of Sammy's military-spec devices, the Smart will -- as you probably guessed -- be the first member of the Rugby family to ditch the clamshell form factor and take on Android at the same time. Pocketnow, which leaked the above press renders, also mentions that the device is slated to offer Android 2.3.5, 512MB of RAM, HSPA+ and a 1,650mAh battery. Nothing impressive, to say the least, unless there are a few other surprises that await us sometime in the (hopefully) near future. W...

Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungT-MobileGalaxy S Blaze 4G
The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze, first teased in early January has been confirmed by T-Mobile to be landing on the network in ‘late March’ for $150 on a two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate is applied. The device is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It supports 42Mbps HSPA+ speeds, which T-Mobile claims is faster than the average home Internet2 broadband connected to a home.
The Galaxy S Blaze centers on a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and sports a 5-megapixel rear camera that shoots video at up to 720p, with a 1.3 front-facing camera for video chatting. While it boats a respectable set of hardware specs, the only real disappointment for users is that it will...

Samsung Galaxy S II announced for US Cellular: 'coming soon' for $230
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungGalaxy S II
We already had a strong hunch that it was coming to US Cellular, thanks to the FCC, but now it's official: Samsung's iconic Galaxy S II is finally making its way to the regional carrier in the coming weeks for $230 on a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. This version of the GSII offers the same 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos CPU found in the original version, as well as a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), an eight megapixel rear camera and 16GB internal storage are also confirmed, though we think it's highly likely this unit will feature the same specs as the rest of the series. Sadly, the device lacks support on USCC's brand new LTE network, so brace yo...

Samsung Epic 4G Touch Ice Cream Sandwich update in works
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsSamsungGoogleEpic 4G TouchAndroid 4.0
We all know Samsung will rollout the Android 4.0 update for its super-popular Galaxy S II smartphone later this year. However, Sprint customers may be wondering whether they’ll have to wait longer, since their particular version of the device (Epic 4G Touch) is specific, made to sing along the carrier’s WiMAX network. Plus, Sprint (and other mobile operators for that matter) always want to test the phone software thoroughly before releasing it to the general public, the process that usually ends-up in prolonged wait time for the end-users.
