Verizon runs HTC Rezound ads early, confirms Beats audio
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCVerizon WirelessRezound
Verizon on Sunday spoiled HTC's November 3 event by posting ads for the Rezound. While they don't show more than a product shot, they do confirm the Beats Audio connection, including the signature red-corded headphones and red light-up navigation keys. The ads hint the phone might be ready to go soon after the event.
The Rezound, sometimes known as the Vigor, is expected to be HTC's most advanced US phone. It will be a slight spin on the Raider, already available in Canada, and revolve around a very sharp 4.5-inch, 720x1280 screen. A dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor and LTE-based 4G will also put it at the high end, although Verizon's model will logically use CDMA for voice instead of t...

Walmart makes boo boo by showing HTC Hero instead of HTC EVO Design 4G in flyer
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCHeroEVO Design 4G
You might recall the HTC Hero that was released by Sprint back in October 2009, just a few days before the Motorola DROID started Androidmania. The Hero was evolving from the T-Mobile G1 and certainly looks nothing like HTC's current lineup of Android handsets. That is why it seems strange that whomever was checking the copy for Walmart's latest circular let a picture of the 2 year old phone sneak in above copy for the brand new HTC EVO Design 4G.
The HTC Hero variant that landed on Sprint in October 2009 introduced Sense UI to the U.S. and had a elongated look with a trackball on the bottom of the phone. Of course, the HTC EVO Design 4G does not have the trackball and is currently available...

HTC Mozart getting firmware update with internet sharing in India, but not Hong Kong
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTC7 Mozart
WeloveWP.hk reports that a firmware update to the HTC Mozart is rolling out in India which brings internet sharing to the handset. The update was reported by Aviraj Ajgekar, a Microsoft employee, and has also rolled out to others in the region.
WeloveWP.hk are however pretty miffed, as they have also had a firmware update for their handsets, including the HTC HD7 and the HTC Mozart, without any Internet Sharing enabled. It seems this is one feature which, probably due to carrier support, will not be available to everyone after all.
Have any of our readers received the post-Mango firmware update, and did it bring Internet Sharing? Let us know your your region and carrier below.

O2 UK is now selling the HTC Sensation XE, which is still the best Android smartphone made by the Taiwanese company. The Telefónica-owned operator is offering the device for free to anyone willing to commit on a two-year contract with a 36 GBP per month plan. Of course, there are also some more expensive options as well as those that require some cash upfront — all of which you can see from this page at O2′s website (accessible only in the UK).
As a reminder, the Sensation XE is the handset maker’s first smartphone with Beats Audio technology that comes with Beats by Dre in-ear headphones. In addition, it also sports a 4.3-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) touchscreen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, HS...

Nexus One denied Ice Cream Sandwich, becomes official relic of Android's yesteryears
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsHTCGoogleNexus OneAndroid 4.0
If you're still clinging fast to Google's first ever Nexus device, now might be the time to start eyeing an upgrade. While the search giant's solidly confirmed an Ice Cream Sandwich destiny for owners of its penultimate Android flagship, the Nexus S, the same cannot be said for its HTC-made progenitor. It's not as though Mountain View's lost any love for its game-changing dev phone, rather that handset's 2010 guts just aren't up to snuff for the 4.0 polish. Besides, there are plenty of other more attractive and able-bodied smartphones to help you through the mourning process.

HTC Raider 4G LTE heading up north to Bell and Rogers
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCHoliday
The first LTE enabled handset expected to be available for AT&T will supposedly be the HTC Holiday. But when not getting ready to offer fast data speeds to the few AT&T customers who have access to the carrier's LTE pipeline, the phone will go by the name of the HTC Raider 4G LTE up in Canada for Bell. Designated for the Canadian mobile operator's Superphone category, the device will cost you $169.95 with the customary signed three-year contract up north. Without a contract, the price tag is a hefty $499.95. No launch date has been mentioned.
Bell's LTE network supports the phone and when out of coverage area, the HTC Raider 4G LTE will drop back to the HSPA+ 42Mbps network. The device itsel...

Sprint's HTC EVO Design 4G now just $29.99 on Amazon
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCAmazonEVO Design 4G
Good ol’ Amazon is offering the brand new HTC EVO Design 4G for just $29.99. That’s full 70% off (or “$70 less” whatever sounds better) Sprint’s price of $99.99. Needless to say, you’ll also have to put your signature on a new two-year contract to get the phone. On the other hand, if you’re upgrading or adding a new line, Amazon will take $79.99 out of your pocket. Finally, if you don’t want to commit on a two-year contract with Sprint, there’s the phone-only option, which costs $479.99.
As a reminder, the EVO Design 4G comes with a single-core 1.2GHz processor, 4-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) capacitive touchscreen, WiMAX, EV-DO Rev. A (used in areas where there’s no WiMAX signal around), Wi-Fi...

Nexus One takes a bite out of Ice Cream Sandwich, chews slowly
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsHTCGoogleNexus OneAndroid 4.0
The Nexus One, grandaddy of Android's latest pure-bred wonder, appears to have some fight left in it. Developer drl33tmd has managed to coax the old man into running an early port of Ice Cream Sandwich, although it's not perfect. The somewhat unstable build is a bit sluggish, and suffers from media playback issues and a distinct lack of WiFi. Check out the demo after the break to see the original Google smartphone struggle up some increasingly steep software stairs.

HTC on Ice Cream Sandwich: "our goal is to upgrade as many HTC devices as possible"
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsHTCGoogleAndroid 4.0
Folks over at HTC shocked customers last week when they replied to a question that they still have to “figure out what they had to do about Android 4.0.”
The uncertainty alone was on the verge to become the first chapter of the next Android update, but luckily for the company and HTC owners, HTC changed its stance pretty quickly.

HTC Rezound leaks in a press photo with an HTC case
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCRezound
Even though we haven’t seen the official press photos for the upcoming HTC Rezound, a different type of press photo has leaked of the powerful Android handset that shows it off wearing an HTC branded case.
For the past couple of months we have come to know the device formerly known as the HTC Vigor quite well. We have seen it in unofficial photos, videos, renders and more. Although the smartphone is expected to be launched on November 10 on Verizon Wireless along with the Motorola DROID RAZR and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus it still hasn’t been officially introduced.
The HTC Rezound is going to be quite the beast of a smartphone. Although it will not have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich when it...

The HTC Radar 4G shows up on T-Mobile USA’s website as coming soon
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCT-MobileRadar
The HTC Radar 4G has shown up on T-Mobile USA’s website as coming soon. The handset is currently expected to hit stores on the 2nd November, and T-Mobile is touting its HSDPA+ abilities, which the carrier and AT&T are both labelling as 4G speeds.
While the handset is welcome, many T-Mobile USA subscribers are still complaining that they will not be getting the HTC Titan, a somewhat more premium handset, that may have to wait for the T-Mobile/AT&T merger to be available to all.
