Judging from the comments left on various articles, a lot of you have yet to bite into the juicy GTX 680 apple. Some of you flat-out can't find one available; others have been waiting for 4GB models to start rolling out. Good news for the latter camp: today, both Palit and Gainward announced the launch of new GTX 680s with 4GB of DRAM onboard. (You still probably won't be able to find them that easily, though!)

Intel: Higher Resolution Displays Coming 2013

According to a presentation caught by Liliputing, Intel has made it abundantly clear that current resolutions lack the necessary pixels-per-inch (PPI) to efficiently complete everyday media tasks. To solve this problem, Intel is supporting plans for “Retina”-like displays in the near future. The company specifically expects 5-inch Smartphones at a resolution of 1280x800, 10-inch Tablet devices at a resolution of 2560x1440, 11-inch and 13-inch Ultrabooks at 2560x1440 and 2800x1800 respectively, and 15-inch Notebooks and 21-inch All-in-one desktops at a resolution of 3840x2160.

HID Evolution has started taking pre-orders for the first Asus G55-series 15.6-inch gaming laptop model – the G55VW-DS71. Priced at $1,475, the laptop features an Intel Core i7-3610QM Ivy Bridge processor, which is combined with a 15.6-inch Full HD display, a 2GB (GDDR5) nVidia GeForce GTX 660M GPU, a 12GB of DDR3 1333MHz RAM (upgradeable up to 16GB), a single 750GB 7,200rpm HDD and a DVD burner. Other specs include a built-in subwoofer, a 2-megapixel webcam, three USB 2.0, a single USB 3.0 port, Thunderbolt, HDMI, Bluetooth and an 8-cell battery.

Intel grabs record share of growing chip market

As global semiconductor revenue hit $306.8 billion in 2011, Intel grabbed its biggest bite of the chip market to date.
Worldwide semiconductor revenue was up $5.4 billion, or 1.8 percent, in 2011 compared with 2010, according to a report from Gartner Inc. on Tuesday.

GIGABYTE unveiled its newest high-end gaming mouse under its AIVIA gaming peripherals brand. Called AIVIA Krypton, the mouse is designed to be an ambidextrous.
The mouse features a multi-macro button layout that's symmetrical. The main USPs of Krypton, apart from its ambidextrous design, are a very high tracking resolution (exact figure not known); a "gliding feet" design that suspends the mouse slightly higher, with lower surface contact, to reduce friction; and of course adjustable weight. More details are awaited.

AMD Reports $590 Million Loss in Q1, Still Thumbs Nose at Wall Street

Scanning AMD's financial report for the first quarter of 2012, you would think the Sunnyvale chip maker is in big trouble. Revenue was $1.59 billion, a nice number if not for the fact that it represents a net loss of $590 million, or $0.80 cents per share, along with an operating loss of $580 million. That's a 6 percent sequential decrease and a 2 percent decrease year-over-year. Non-GAAP earnings were $0.12 a share. So why wouldn't investors want to hit the panic button?

Check out the KFA2 GeForce GTX 680 Hall of Fame (HOF) Edition. Overclockers UK listed the card for pre-order, it wil sell for £529.99, including VAT (US $854).
The card features an all customized PCB and cooling assembly on .. yep yep all white PCB. The card is locked and loaded with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface. The GPU is factory overclocked with a base core speed of 1202 MHz and the boost core speed is locked in at 1267 MHz.

Nvidia: Tegra 3+ ''Wayne'' Arrives Later This Year

On Thursday Michael Rayfield, general manager of Nvidia’s mobile business unit, confirmed during HTC's Frequencies conference in Seattle that the company plans to release an upgraded Tegra 3 SoC later this year in 3Q12.
A Tegra roadmap displayed during the conference named the new "Wayne" chip as "T3+" or "Tegra 3+," although that will not be the official title when the chip ships to device manufacturers later this year. Rayfield indicated that the SoC will bring better performance to smartphones and tablets, but it won't feature the integrated LTE modem as reported earlier this year.

AMD announced on its blog that its A-series APUs (Trinity) began shipping last quarter. The chip designer says Trinity and Brazos 2.0 systems will be available globally soon.

JVC Releases DT-E21L4 and DT-E17L4G HD Monitors at NAB 2012

JVC is happy to announce today the release of two new professional monitors, the DT-E21L4 and the DT-E17L4G. These screens measure 21 and 17 inches, respectively, and they both feature full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. The displays will be joining the company’s E Series monitors and come with a TN panel with 10-bit color processing. The company has included a diverse connection panel that includes HDMI, VGA, 5BNC, and more. The monitors will be on display this week at the NAB show. The DT-E21L4 will be priced at $2950, while the DT-E17L4G will retail for $2560.

Bang & Olufsen Looks to Unveil B&O Play HDTVs on May 2nd

A few days ago, Bang & Olufsen announced that their first B&O Play HDTV will be releasing soon to the consumer market. Today, the company has invited the press to an event on May 2nd in order to unveil the new B&O Play TV as well as other Play products. The B&O Play brand is designed to provide high quality Bang & Olufsen products to the consumers for a lower than normal price. This would allow the company to branch out more in the market. The invite doesn’t give any specification details, but hopefully on May 2nd, we’ll finally have some more details about these TVs.

Optoma Unveils EX855 and EW865 Projectors

Optoma announced recently two new projectors that will be joining the ProScene series, the EX855 and EW865. Both projectors use DLP display technology and feature a 4000:1 contrast ratio. The main difference is that the EX855 only comes with 5500 ANSI lumens and a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, while the EX865 is a little brighter with 6000 ANSI lumens and comes with a WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. Optoma has included a diverse connection panel that includes HDMI, RGB, composite, component, s-video, and several audio ports as well. The Samsung Galaxy Beam projector phone has been fairly popular since its debut. It is the first of its kind to be manufactured by a major company. Today, anticipating customers got some good news as the FCC announced that this device is cleared to retail in the USA. This pretty much guarantees that the phone will be releasing soon in North America. The projector is fixed onto the top of the phone and is capable of displaying 15 ANSI lumens and a 640 x 360 resolution.
