The biological father of Steve Jobs, who is of Syrian descent, is now in regrets he had never met his uber-successful son, and only emailing him from time to time for his birthdays.
Apple's former CEO was given for adoption as his mother's family was against her having a kid from Abdulfattah John Jandali, who, at 80 years of age, is now a VP of one casino in Nevada, workaholic as his son. The granddad passed away shortly after Steve Jobs was adopted, and his biological parents reunited, but there wasn't much they could do about rolling the adoption back.
"I'd be lying if I said it doesn’t sadden me to have not been part of my son’s incredible journey. What father wouldn’t think that? And I ...

Posted on Aug 31, 2011 by MG1

Microsoft's Windows Phone platform may not be the near the top when it comes to market share, but it is getting there when it comes to the number of apps available in its Windows Phone Marketplace.
The latest numbers from the Windows Phone AppList, a website that catalogs the number of app in the Marketplace, show there to be just over 30,000 apps available. Microsoft reached this number a mere 10 months since the Marketplace debuted. Additionally, there are now over 8,000 registered developers for the Windows Phone platform.
While these numbers pale in comparison to the hundreds of thousands of apps available for Apple's iOS and Google's Android platforms, when compared with other smartphon...

There’s an ongoing debate in the Android community as to how much control Google should have when it comes to how their operating system should be presented to consumers. Some people, including everyone at IntoMobile HQ, think that hardware vendors should stick to what they do best, making hardware, and stop throwing their disgusting attempts at originality on top of what’s otherwise a highly usable operating system. Other folks, namely HTC Sense fanbois, and yes, they do exist, think that the uniqueness of Sense is a selling point, and that without the ability to customize Android, Google’s platform would become stale and boring. Looking at this recent video of HTC Sense 3.5 that hit the in...

Rumors say the next Apple iPhone will have a metal back, small screen

Posted on Aug 31, 2011 by MG1

By this time next month we’ll know either: 1) The exact specifications of Apple’s next generation iPhone, including pricing information and availability or 2) The date when Apple plans to unveil said iPhone. Until either of those two events happen however, it’s going to be rumor madness until the final moment. The latest iPhone rumor, courtesy of Taiwanese news site Digitimes, who has an above average track record of getting these things right, says that the iPhone 5, or iPhone 4S, whatever it’s going to be called, will have a metal back, replacing the fragile glass that many iPhone 4 users have accidentally destroyed, this writer included. It’s also now been predicted that the next iPhone w...

As every gadget aficionado is already well aware of, HP pulled the plug on its webOS-powered hardware leaving mountains of unsold devices collecting dust in retailers' warehouses, as well as in its own. In order to move all that inventory, the manufacturer decided to sell the HP TouchPad and Pre3 at dirt cheap prices hoping to get back at least some of its investment. However, besides recovering from its loss, there seems to be yet another issue that HP is now obliged to take care of.
According to a report by DigiTimes, HP's hardware component suppliers are now sitting on a huge pile of leftover parts, most of which were meant to be used in the 7-inch HP TouchPad Go tablet. Specific numbers ...

It’s due to take place on October 7th at 09:30 in New York City and the only agenda given is “Presentation by Senior Management, Q&A Session”. Considering Sprint has already said that they’re going to transition Clearwire from WiMAX to TDD-LTE, we’re wondering what exactly Sprint has up their sleeves? Rumors suggest that Sprint is in the process of acquiring Clearwire after it’s become painfully obvious that the joint venture approach to r...

Samsung Wave M is now official, runs bada 2.0 and wants to socialize

Posted on Aug 31, 2011 by MG1

The Samsung Wave M is one of the three new smartphones that the manufacturer unveiled today and sits nicely in between the newly introduced flagship of the bada 2.0 family – the Wave 3, and the entry-level Wave Y handset. All three devices are being made official only days before the start of IFA 2011 in Berlin where all three of them are expected to be shown off in person.
We are looking at a smartphone built mostly with social networking in mind, which is why the Samsung Wave M comes equipped with Samsung's very own messaging system, ChatON. Social Hub also comes out of the box so that you can easily keep track of what mischief your buddies are up to. However, the most important software a...

Samsung Wave Y: bada 2.0 for the masses

Samsung Wave Y: bada 2.0 for the masses

Posted on Aug 31, 2011 by MG1

The Samsung Wave Y, the last and most affordable of the three waves that splashed the cell phone industry is officially here, with bada 2.0 showing off on a 3.2-inch HVGA LCD screen. Spec-wise, it’s similar to its older brother, the Samsung Wave M, as it packs an equally powerful 832MHz CPU and 150MB of internal memory extendible via a microSD card of up to 32GB.
The Samsung Wave Y however has cut some corners to be the most affordable in the trio and those are mostly in the photographic department. The basic 2-megapixel fixed-focus camera recording HVGA videos at 30fps on the handset is a significant downgrade from the 5-megapixel auto-focus shooters on the Samsung Wave 3 and Wave M. The p...

GIA Releases Prediction of Pico Projector Growth

GIA Releases Prediction of Pico Projector Growth

Posted on Aug 30, 2011 by MG1

Filed in: Projectors

Ever since pico projectors first entered the market, industry predictors believed that these devices were going to expand and become very popular. The latest group to state this assumption is GIA (Global Industry Analysts). In their forecast they state that the pico projector industry will be selling over 97.5 million units by 2017. They also predict that revenue will total over $10 billion by that time. GIA predicts that the cause of the growth will be the development of embedded pico projectors. However, integrating projectors into other products has proven sluggish and not terribly popular at this time.

Nokia Investigates SQL Injection Attack, Admits Security Breach "Significantly Larger" than Thought

Posted on Aug 30, 2011 by MG1

Nokia is cleaning egg off its face after losing developer records to an SQL Injection attack, prompting the mobile phone maker to shutter its developer discussion forum ahead of its Windows Phone 7 launch. Hackers were able to access a database table filled with email addresses and, in some cases, birthdates and other information included in their public profile.
"Initially we believed that only a small number of these forum member records had been accessed, but further investigation has identified that the number is significantly larger," Nokia said in a statement.
