Being headphones designed for the sportsman, they are sweatproof and washable and feature a variety of innovations that set them apart from all others. One of these is the the nagging problem of in-ear headphones that slip out during strenuous use. Monster deals with this through a patented in-ear clip anchor system, which fits the curve of...

Kinect hitting Windows in February
Like UnlikeFiled in: Operating SystemsMicrosoftWindows 7
Microsoft's largely uninspiring CES 2012 keynote did let slip one juicy morsel of news: Kinect will be coming to Windows in February 2012.
Starting next month, Windows users will be able to control their PCs and laptops by motion and gestures, with nary a mouse in sight.
As well as allowing you to control things on screen your computer will know broader motions too, like when you're sitting in front of it - so it could feasibly put itself to sleep when you get up to make a cup of tea, then bring itself back when you return.
There were sadly no revelations as to what this will look like in practice, no sneaky screenshots of the user interface or what have you, but given Microsoft's strong foc...

Xerox and consumer aren't necessarily words that get thrown together a lot, but the company's Mobile Scanner could actually find a home with some -- provided they're willing part with $250. It's reasonably light-weight (only 22.5 ounces) and it can (almost) instantly beam any document you feed it to an Eye-Fi connected device. It'll survive 300 pages on a single charge and keep your Android phone full of docs. What makes it special is the ability to scan not just JPGs, but PDFs. You can also switch between JPG, black and white PDF or color PDF with just a few taps of a button. It can even create multipage PDFs if you just feed a second document through within five seconds. Around back you'll...

SUS displayed its latest sound card, the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Phoebus. This card is designed for multichannel gaming audio. While it might not pack any fancy DSP that doesn't already exist, its AMP circuitry is so designed to give the best positional audio that could come handy with competitive online gaming. With this card, ASUS also brought to the fore C-Media's latest audio chipset, the CMI 8788DH Oxygen Express, which packs native PCI Express support. All PCI Express sound cards launched by ASUS so far feature OxygenHD and ASUS-rebadged AV-100 chipsets, that use legacy PCI, and hence depend on PCIe-to-PCI bridge chips by PLX to function on PCI Express.

The Lenovo K91 is a holy matrimony between Android and a TV set

And what a TV set the Lenovo K91 is – a 55 incher boasting a full HD IPS-LCD panel with LED backlight and 240Hz refresh rate. Delivering the processing power is a dual-core Qualcomm APQ8060 chipset clocked at 1.5GHz, which is actually the very same chip that runs on some Samsung Galaxy S II versions. You also get 8 gigs of on-board storage that can be expanded via an SD card, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a 5-megapixel camera. What comes pre-installed is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Lenovo's very own Sandwich UI that combines traditional TV f...

MasterImage glasses-free 3D tablet and smartphone displays
Like UnlikeFiled in: Tablets
MasterImage 3D recently announced that it would be demonstrating two new glasses-free 3D displays at CES, and we just had our first look. The company is working on two displays — a 720p 4.3-inch display, and a 10.1-inch tablet display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution — and it says its new cell-matrix parallax barrier technology provides brighter images, better image quality, and wider viewing angles. Based on our first look, the technology is certainly promising: the 3D image is brighter, clearer, and much easier to look at than other glasses-free displays (we were fortunate enough to have an Evo 3D in hand to compare). Still, you're going to have to pretty much look directly at the screen, sin...
