Although somewhat semi confirmed DigiTimes mentions that Intel plans to introduce its first 22nm Ivy Bridge processors by the end of April. The launch lineup will include the Core i7-3770K, Core i7-3770, Core i7-3770S, Core i7-3770T and Core i5-3550, while the Core i5-3470, Core i5-3470S, Core i5-3475S, Core i5-3570 and Core i5-3570S will be released in early June.

Shares of Apple stock briefly jumped above $600 shortly before the market opened on Thursday as investors anticipate the launch of the new iPad. Apple’s iPad, which is already available from at least one retailer in Australia, launches in preliminary markets at 8:00 a.m. local time from Apple’s retail stores. The tablet features a new high-resolution 2,048 x 1,536-pixel Retina Display, a faster dual-core Apple A5X processor, an upgraded 5-megapixel camera and an option for integrated 4G LTE connectivity. Shares of Apple stock had dipped back below $600 at the time of this writing.

First the good news: we have an update regarding the HTC One S and HTC One X release dates. Both smartphones are expected to hit the shelves on April 5. Now the not-so-good news: word comes from sources in the U.K., meaning that the U.S. release dates for the two smartphones may vary. The April 5 release date for the Tegra 3 powered HTC One X comes from U.K. carrier O2, which spilled the beans in a tweet this morning. Meanwhile, online retailer Phones4u is already accepting pre-orders for the HTC One S with shipping expected to begin on that very same day.

Amazon on Thursday announced that its mobile marketplace, the Amazon Appstore, is celebrating its first birthday. Korean regulators on Thursday fined domestic mobile phone manufacturers and carriers 45.3 billion won (roughly $40.2 million) for price-fixing and consumer fraud. According to the Fair Trade Commission, the companies secretly agreed to inflate the prices of cell phones while advertising offers with considerable incentives. The companies’ actions apparently tricked consumers into thinking they were buying a new phone for a bargain. “Companies took advantage of the complicated price setting practice in the mobile telecommunications sector to trick consumers,” an FTC official said. Kevin Rose has been something of an Internet icon since the start of the Web 2.0 trend. Rose has been the co-founder or founder of a number of ventures including Revision3, Digg, Pownce, and Milk. The products born from Rose's companies have spanned the gamut from Internet TV, socially curated news, micro-blogging, and even product ranking with his Oink app. And now, starting Monday, Kevin Rose will be a Google employee.

Verizon Wireless has begun distributing an update for the Motorola DROID X2 smartphone. The update fixes a handful of bugs in the device's software and patches a security hole. Unfortunately it does not update the DROID X2 to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and Motorola has not announced plans to do so in the future. Users should get a notification on their handsets when the update is ready to be downloaded and installed.

HTC devices such as the Sensation and Vivid are finally getting in with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, thanks to some recently available software updates, but that doesn’t mean older HTC handsets are left out of the loop in terms of general updates.
Well, if you happen to own either the T-Mobile myTouch 4G or 4G Slide, devices that have been around for quite some time now, you’ll be pleased to find upcoming maintenance updates headed your way. Basically, they upgrade the software of these Gingerbread devices to version 2.32.531.1, and for the most part, it should comfort those who are still dreaming about the possibility of Ice Cream Sandwich.

A Tango ROM has leaked on XDA-Developers. Tango Build 7.10.98.8773 has been made available for download by Football, ready to be cook into ROMs.
It also did not take long to do this either, with Tango ROMs for the HTC HD2 and Samsung Omnia 7 now available.
Besides the optimizations for low memory, Windows Phone Tango brings improvements in MMS messaging and bug fixes, including fixing the SMS of Death vulnerability.
Despite the improvements the official roll out of the Tango update to Windows Phones will be dependent on carriers.

A version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android smartphone has been approved by the FCC that appears to be headed to Sprint. The Samsung SPH-L700 that passed through the hands of the FCC will offer support for Sprint's upcoming 4G LTE(INFO) data network. Microsoft has announced that Marketplace will be opening up 23 new countries within a month, and will be accepting submissions within the next 2 weeks.
The new countries include Bahrain, Bulgaria, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Estonia, Iceland, Iraq, Israel, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Vietnam, raising the total number of supported countries to 63 and resulting in a 60% increase in addressable users.
