AT&T promotes Nokia Lumia 900 launch with huge signs; phone available in stores today
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesNOKIAAT&TLumia 900
With the Windows Phone flagship Nokia Lumia 900 getting launched on Easter Sunday, the device will actually be first available in AT&T corporate stores on Monday. To let everyone in the States know that the device is available, AT&T has put up some major signage inside its stores. One gentleman told WPCentral that he drove past three of AT&T's corporate stores in Long Island and each had huge Nokia Lumia 900 banners hanging from the ceiling that could be easily spotted from the road. It looks like the tag line for AT&T's campaign will be "Beautifully different".
Inside the stores there will be an area where you can test out the Nokia Lumia 900 and the HTC Titan II. The latter, as we already ...

Best Buy says ICS for the RAZR delayed, Rezound still on for Friday
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsHTCMotorolaGoogleRezoundAndroid 4.0RAZR
Droid-Life got ahold of an internal employee memo Best Buy sent out yesterday, updating employees on the status of Ice Cream Sandwich updates for some of Verizon’s most popular phones. First, Best Buy told employees what we already reported to you – that the updates headed to the Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX aren’t going to be ICS, they will be bug fixes.
We’re not sure that translates as ICS being “delayed”; there was never anything but speculation that today’s soak test for RAZR devices would be Android 4.0, so Best Buy may have simply jumped the gun with their previous announcement.

We’re fresh off of yesterday’s announcement of the HTC EVO 4G LTE on Sprint. It looks like HTC is wasting no time promoting the newest addition to its EVO lineup.
As you can see from the video below, HTC is showcasing its latest Android handset, which is only 8.9mm thick, with an elegant video that compares its sleekness to that of a pin.
The HTC EVO 4G LTE sports a 4.7-inch S-LCD 2 display, a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, 1GB RAM, an 8MP camera with 1080p video, Android 4.0, and, of course, 4G LTE connectivity.

Nexus S 4G ICS update starts rolling out
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsGoogleNexus S 4GAndroid 4.0
A few weeks ago we told you Android 4.0 was coming to the Nexus S 4G soon, then just a few days ago we saw a leaked update based on Android 4.0.4. Sprint just let us know that the update is officially rolling out, starting now. The update brings a number of new enhancements from Ice Cream Sandwich, including Android Beam, a new camera interface with panorama mode and the new UI enhancements in Android 4.0 that we've come to love. Sprint's email says that the update will be automatically downloaded to the user's phone when it is available, so keep an eye out for a prompt to apply. It will be sent out in waves, and they make no mention of a manual download process. For those of you rockin...

HTC EVO 4G LTE US bound, but not UK
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCEVO 4G LTE
Damn those Americans. They get all the good stuff.
Not content with Disneyland and oversized burgers, HTC has unveiled its latest member of the EVO series, the HTC EVO 4G LTE, and it’s only coming to the US.
The smartphone that packs a domineering 4.7-inch HD display will be available exclusively from Sprint for $199.99, despite the fact the US network doesn’t currently have LTE capabilities.
However, as the phone won’t be out until the summer we assume this will give Sprint time to get its house in order.

Motorola DROID RAZR and Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX soak test to start on Thursday
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorolaRAZRDROID RAZR MAXX
The soak test for the Motorola DROID RAZR and the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX will begin on Thursday. The new software version is 6.12.181 and includes a large number of fixes as the manufacturer tries to get the models ready for the upcoming Android 4.0 update.
Among the items listed on the changelist for the update is an optimization of device performance to improve battery life, which does sound redundant with the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX. The update will bring a new MotoCast widget to allow easier access to MotoCast files. Also, you should notice an improvement in MotoCast performance. Storage settings have been changed to clarify total, available, and used storage space.

iPhone 5 'will arrive in June'
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesApple
A fresh report has surfaced which suggests the iPhone 5 release date is set for June of this year.
According to a Foxconn recruiter, who is part of the mass recruitment drive at the Chinese firm's factories, the sixth generation of iPhone is expected to arrive in two months time.
The recruiter refers to the next model as the fifth generation of iPhone, which is technically incorrect as the iPhone 4S was the fifth model to roll off the Apple production line.

MetroPCS adds $70 a month pricing tier for unlimited LTE data, caps $60 plan at 5GB
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell Phones
MetroPCS LTE data plans just got a little less confusing, but users may not be happy with the changes. The company is adding a new tier to its plans, raising the rate for unlimited LTE data (along with unlimited voice, SMS, Rhapsody music, and Video On Demand) to $70 a month. The extant $60 plan will now offer 5GB a month, slowing users' speeds when they exceed that amount. "Customers will remain on the 4G LTE network but receive a reduced speed similar to what they might experience on MetroPCS' 3G networks," a company spokesperson told FierceWireless. Users of the cheaper $40 and $50 plans, which offer 250MB and 2.5GB of data respectively, will see the same thing happen after hitting their ...

RIM launches BlackBerry Mobile Fusion
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesTabletsRIM BlackBerry
RIM announced BlackBerry Mobile Fusion last November, a new enterprise service that will allow companies to manage multiple types of devices from a single, web-based interface, and the company says the service will launch today. The service can manage smartphones running BlackBerry 7 or earlier, PlayBook tablets, and tablets and smartphones running Android and iOS. RIM says that Mobile Fusion will allow IT managers to activate and configure devices and profiles for various phones, enable access to enterprise services, deploy apps, and detect jailbreaks and roots. RIM hasn't traditionally provided much support for competing devices over the years, but Mobile Fusion is probably a necessary con...

New photos of LG Miracle with Telus branding surface
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesLGMiracle
LG's rumored Miracle Windows Phone still hasn't been announced, but PocketNow has gotten new photos that appear to show a version headed for Canadian carrier Telus. The pictures include a Telus-branded home screen, the back of the square-cornered phone, and an information page that shows it running Windows Phone OS build 8107. That suggests that this might be a relatively recent photograph. The phone's name is given as the LG E740H, a variant of the E740 name that's been associated with the Miracle before.

Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S III already being tested in Korea
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungGalaxy S III
There’s a lot of misinformation on the internet about the Samsung Galaxy S III and we’re just going to contribute to that mess today by linking to some more rumors. First rumor, from a Koren publication called DDaily, is that the Galaxy S III will have a 4.65 inch AMOLED display that pushes 1280 x 720 pixels and doesn’t use the PenTile subpixel configuration. What does that mean in layman’s terms? The Galaxy S III will have an ultra sharp display, text will be smooth as hell, and it’ll make you drool. Second rumor, from another Korean publication called AsiaE, is that local operators are already testing the Galaxy S III. Samsung is a bit worried though, since testing usually takes two months...

Motorola GLEAM+ shimmies onto shelves, into European pockets
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesMotorolaGLEAM+
There are many typographical accoutrements manufacturers can hang on existing product names to let you know that this one's different, better. Motorola's plumped for the humble "+" to let us know this isn't just any Gleam, it's a new, improved beast. So what's changed since last time? Well, it's dropped a dress size first of all, measuring 0.4mm thinner than its elder sibling, and that dot-matrix style outer display now stands much taller. The main screen also jumps from 2.4- to 2.8-inches, sporting a 400 x 240, WQVGA resolution. So, if you're a fan of the form-factor, and live in Europe (it still only has that dual band GSM radio) then you can get your mitts on it from today.
