iPhone PRO would house 3D camera and detachable DSLR lens
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesApple
Could the next iPhone feature a 3D camera and a detachable DSLR lens? The iPhone PRO is the brainchild of designer Jinyoung Choi and is very much caters to the photography enthusiast. With a 4.5-inch LCD screen, the iPhone PRO would be considerably bigger than the current iPhone 4S with dimensions measuring 128 x 73 x 9.6 mm.
Found on the back of the handset in a central position is a 1.2-megapixel 3D camera that can be hooked up to a DSLR lens that in turn doubles up as a projector with embedded speakers. There’s even a removable hard disk at the bottom of the phone.

HTC EVO One revealed, Sprint announcement coming Wednesday?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCSprintEVO 4G LTE
PocketNow has got its hands on the first press shot of HTC's EVO One, which looks set to be unveiled for Sprint at an event being held by the two companies tomorrow. It's the middle phone in that shot you see above, and while we can't read too much into the picture it certainly seems to fit in right next to AT&T's One X and T-Mobile's One S, both of which we gave pretty glowing reviews to yesterday.
AndroidCentral's sources say that the phone features a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED screen (which seems odd given the quality of the One X's 720p Super LCD 2), LTE, an 8-megapixel camera, and a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, which at least on paper sounds like an offering unlikely to disappoint Sprint c...

Sprint restarts Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for LG Optimus S
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesLGSprintOptimus S
Way back in September of last year, Sprint released the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus S smartphone. Unfortunately, it was pulled shortly after launch because users were reporting a number of bugs with the update. This left Optimus S users confused and bewildered as to where their Android 2.3 Gingerbread update went. Well, here we are nearly seven months later, and Sprint says that it will relaunch the update starting on Wednesday of this week. In addition to the improvements that come with Android 2.3, Sprint says the update also includes fixes for device charging, an SD card unmounting error, the device not being recognized by Windows SP, Vista, or 7 operating systems, a...

Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesAppleiPhone 4s
The Apple iPhone 4S continued its strong sales momentum last month according to Canaccord Genuity analyst Mike Walkley. The analyst told his clients on Monday that "Our March checks indicated the iPhone continues to extend its market share gains. In fact, we believe iPhones are outselling all other smartphones combined at Sprint and AT&T and selling at roughly equal volume to all Android smartphones at Verizon."

Virgin Mobile rumored to be getting HTC EVO 3D; will offer it as the HTC EVO V 4G
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCEVO 3D
Who says that pre-paid carriers don't offer interesting phones. Recently, it was announced that Virgin Mobile would be getting the HTC One V and now a reliable source for PocketNow says that Sprint will be handing off the HTC EVO 3D to its pre-paid cousin. Virgin is expected to offer the stereoscopic handset as the HTC EVO V 4G.
The HTC EVO 3D still has some compelling specs today, with a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood with 1GB of RAM. The 4.3 inch screen offers qHD resolution and the dual-lens 5MP camera on back lets you snap 3D pictures. The unit is one of two glasses-free 3D smartphones in the States and will continue to offer 4G hotspot functionality.

Sprint’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus may launch on April 22nd according to a purported internal document obtained by The Verge. LG Optimus S to resume Gingerbread update on April 4th
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsLGGoogleOptimus SAndroid 2.3
Back last September, Sprint started rolling out the Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus S. But the update had to be halted when owners of the device started having some issues. Some owners were having problems recharging their phone or connecting to data. Other problems included the failure of predictive text to appear while typing on the virtual QWERTY, an incorrect message would appear stating that the microSD card is unmounted, and when connected to a PC, the device was unrecognized by Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7

New Images Of LG Windows Phone LS831 Emerges
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesOperating SystemsLGMicrosoftWindows Phone 7.5
While we are still not sure about LG releasing another Windows Phone 7.5 device, there were numerous leaks on their devices/prototypes. This one is LS831 which we saw in last October when it passed the FCC. The device design looks outdated to me and it has a 5MP camera along with a front cam. Since it features a CDMA band, it should release only on Sprint in US if there is any possibility. Visit the source link for more images.

Samsung's eeeny-weeny Galaxy Pocket is examined under the FCC's magnifying glass
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungGalaxy Pocket
Once those wags at the FCC had finished joking about how difficult the Galaxy Pocket is to see with the human eye, it was time to get examining. Samsung's cellphone with a 2.8-inch display was revealed to be packing GSM 850 / 1900 and UMTS Band V radios that'll operate on AT&T's network (and those like it). The company hasn't committed to a US launch for the handset, but one thing is for sure: if it does arrive stateside, it'll come in very, very small boxes.

Samsung throws in free extended battery with VZW Galaxy Nexus, applies to new purchases only
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesSamsungGALAXY Nexus
Samsung must be keenly aware that the Galaxy Nexus' battery life takes a hit on Verizon's LTE network: for a limited time, the outfit's throwing in a free 2,100mAh extended battery for first-time buyers (sorry, current Nexus owners are out of luck). To take advantage of the promotion, you'll have to purchase it through Samsung Direct (link below), which means you'll be paying $300 for the device and agreeing to a two-year contract. As Android and Me notes, though, you'd save quite a bit of money picking up the VZW Nexus and accompanying battery pack at Amazon for a combined $134. Suffice to say, then, this isn't a stellar deal, but those of you who disagree can avail yourselves through May ....

Fujitsu buys out Toshiba's stake in mobile joint venture, division now called Fujitsu Mobile Communications
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesToshibaFujitsu
April 2, 2012: a great day to officially wash your hands of an unprofitable business. On the heels of Philips stuffing its TV biz into a joint venture, Fujitsu announced it has bought out Toshiba's stake in Fujitsu Toshiba Mobile Communications (just like we knew it would). Fujitsu already had a controlling 80.1 percent interest in the company, so this doesn't exactly mark a seismic change in management. Still, with that final 19.9 percent it's now a fully owned subsidiary of the Fujitsu Group, and has been rechristened Fujitsu Mobile Communications. We've got the PR below, but unless you want to know how much capital the division has (¥450 million, to be exact), we think we've got you cover...
