Remember the Xtion Pro and Wavi Xtion motion sensors that Asus showed off at CES? Well, fast-forward six months and there's already an updated model on the market: the Windows- and Linux-compatible Xtion Pro Live. The new version complements the original's IR and depth sensors with a Kinect-like VGA webcam and a pair of microphones, while also jacking up the bill to a distinctly un-Kinect-like 175 Euros ($300). That price tag won't make us shift our living room furniture around anytime soon, especially since Kinect is already officially heading to the PC. ASUS today unveiled the new U56E 15-inch notebook. Measuring at only 1-inch thick, the laptop comes jam packed with the 2nd generation Intel Core family processor, a 1GB nVidia GeForce GT 540M graphics, USB 3.0, a fast USB Charger+ for quick charging of devices and up to 10-hour of battery life. Additional specs include a 0.3MP webcam, LAN, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, a card reader, a couple of USB 2.0, HDMI and an 8-cell battery. No word on pricing at this time.

It would be absolutely fine if you remain skeptical after reading this one as the rumor that we just came across comes straight from our favorite hit-or-miss source DigiTimes. So, according to sources supposedly familiar with the matter, Asus is planning on shipping as much as 4.5 million tablet devices during the second half of 2011 – more than twice as much as the company initially estimated to pump out over the course of the whole year.

Yesterday, we reported that a tweet from ASUS said that Android 3.2 is being tested on the popular tablet and that the update should be out shortly. Unfortunately, it made the owners of the tablet excited when they received an OTA upgrade on Friday. No, the update that is on the device now is not going to give you Android 3.2.
According to those who have downloaded and installed the update, the changes appear to be a new build of Wi-Fi which is now 1.50 from the previous 1.42. The Kernel number has been changed as has the build numberto 8.4.4.11-20110711 from 8.4.4.5-20110527. According to others who have installed the update, there is a new boot logo that has a "Powered by Nvidia" logo on ...

The 3G version of ASUS' popular Eee Pad Transformer tablet has been priced for the Italian market. The product pages are up, revealing a price tag of 499 euros, tax inclusive (about $710) for the 16GB 3G model and 599 euros ($850) for the 32GB version and this fact was pointed out by NotebookItalia. While the website reveals specs and the prices, it doesn't provide a release date for the tablet, though many expect it to be August.
Other than the 3G radio and the addition of a SIM card slot, the same specs as for the regular Wi-Fi model are retained. This includes the 10.1-inch, 1280x800 touchscreen and 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra II processor. There is also 1GB of RAM, a five-megapixel rear camera, 1....

ASUS detailed its WX-Lamborghini wireless mouse, which has been in cold-storage since September 2010, when it was first spotted. ASUS is an authorized manufacturer of Lamborghini-branded electronics, which has a line of high-end notebooks branded and inspired by the fast-car maker. Measuring 106.5 x 68 x 36 mm, the design of this mouse is inspired by the Lamborghini Concept S, the mouse uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology with a range of up to 10 meters from its receiver. The optical sensor's resolution can be set between 800 and 2,500 dpi. It has a total of 7 buttons, and a vertical scroll-wheel that's resembles the design of Lamborghini's stock wheel. It is retailing in Europe for around €38.

Some might argue that ASUS already has an ARM-powered Android laptop in its inventory thanks to the Eee Pad Transformer, however the company's now been identified as planning a more spacious 13-inch notebook device, whose power and pricing could well be even more attractive than the Transformer's. We should naturally be wary of the source here, DigiTimes having a record that's as patchy as the grass at Wimbledon after the first week's play, but the Taiwanese rumormonger says ASUS has already made launch plans for this 13-incher and will be using "NVIDIA's processor" inside.

These laptops just keep on getting thinner, with the latest to enter the super slim brigade arriving in the form of the Asus U36.
The 19mm thick magnesium alloy netbook features clever technology that means it keeps itself clean, so you can transport it anywhere you go. Dirt, water and fingerprint marks are repelled by the laptops nanometer coating. Mucky-pups will also like the seamless chiclet keyboard which keeps those crumbs at bay.
