ASUS Eee Pad Slider shows off its specs, may launch in September

ASUS' Eee Pad Slider is fast becoming just as mythical as the flying horse the company's named after. We've had several encounters with potential release windows for the slate, only to see it continually creep back into fall. Well, judging by a recent report from Notebook Italia and the tab's new product page, it looks like we may actually see a September launch for the 10.1-incher -- in Italy. Contrary to prior rumors, the company will be offering the Slider in two storage configurations -- 16GB and 32GB at potential €479 and €599 price points overseas, while $400 and $550 models should hit the US.

ASUS Eee Pad Slider available in the Netherlands for 499 EUR

In that sense, I find Asus’ other device, Eee Pad Transformer, to be way more appealing, offering the keyboard as an optional accessory.
Anyway, interested users can buy the 32GB version of Asus’ Slider for 499 EUR (about $709), w...

The Asus Eee Pad Slider has become more of a mystery with every passing day as the 10.1-inch slate first appeared at CES and was expected to land in May, but its launch was delayed all the way until August in the UK. The Slider however has now passed one more obstacle on its way to mass market, this time clearing the FCC, where it appeared with model number SL101.
Earlier in the month, Asus seemed hesitant about releasing the tablet as it was “running a couple of surveys to understand what is important for our customers.” With heaps of Honeycomb tablets storming the market, that's no surprise, but the Asus Eee Pad Slider definitely has more than the common tablet as it stands out with its sl...
