Win a free Samsung Galaxy Note from Samsung Canada

Posted on Feb 09, 2012 by MG1

As part of the promotion for its highly sought-after phablet (phone/tablet), Samsung Canada is running a contest in which it will give away 5 Galaxy Note units to lucky bastards users.
The huge device is heading to Canada’s three networks — including TELUS, Bell and Rogers — and will cost up to $729.99 sans any long-term commitments. Of course, with a three-year contract the price goes down, but you’ll still need to shell out some $200 to get this beast phone/tablet.
The contest has already started and it runs through February 13th at 6:00 pm. You can check out all the details from this page at Samsung’s website. Good luck!
And before I let you, let me once again repeat the Galaxy Note’s sp...

Customers can pre-order the Android device both online and in-store starting February 5th and will receive their Galaxy Note by the 17th.
The Galaxy Note is a monster of a phone with a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED screen that’s 0.7 inches bigger than the Galaxy Nexus. It has a whopping 800 x 1280 pixels (WXGA) resolution with 285 pixels per inch. Under the hood, the Galaxy Note has a 1.4GHz dual-core chip, 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of onboard storage. Samsung Galaxy Note coming to Bell, Rogers and Telus in February

Samsung Galaxy Note coming to Bell, Rogers and Telus in February

Posted on Jan 31, 2012 by MG1

Those of you who seem to be more closely connected to the Maple Leaf than the pine needle might've jumped on the envious side at the news that folks across the border are getting their hands on the LTE Galaxy Note. Envy no more. Via blog post, Rogers has announced that Samsung's "phablet" creation will be surfing through its fresh 4G waves in the upcoming month. Aside from the Rogers branding we expect to see, it'll be hard to distinguish this Note from its AT&T brother, as it'll be identical in the specs department. Based on a page thrown up at Best Buy Canada, it looks as if it'll sell for $249.99 on a three-year contract (with Bell and Telus getting in on the fun, too), with the first of ...

Galaxy Note S Pen makes sense for larger screens, says Samsung

Galaxy Note S Pen makes sense for larger screens, says Samsung

Posted on Jan 27, 2012 by MG1

Could the Galaxy Note's S Pen stylus be coming to other Samsung products in the future? That's the proposition hypothesized by Ryan Bidan, Samsung's product marketing manager, in an interview with Laptop. He thinks that the stylus "continues to make a lot of sense across a number of screen sizes, like the larger is more obvious of those," before going on to say "that’s about as specific as I can be without announcing a product." That would certainly seem to suggest that Samsung is considering the S Pen for future models of its Galaxy Tab, though we suppose he could also be talking about Windows 8 devices. We didn't find much use for the S Pen in our Galaxy Note review, but it's possible that...

Samsung Galaxy Note is coming to Verizon as the Galaxy Journal?

Samsung Galaxy Note is coming to Verizon as the Galaxy Journal?

Posted on Jan 17, 2012 by MG15

Arguably, one can say that Verizon managed to do right by forgetting about the Samsung Galaxy S II, seeing that they eventually brought along the Samsung Galaxy Nexus before anyone else. Even though the exclusivity is short lived because Sprint is bound to start selling its own version soon, it simply goes to show how Verizon is willing to go above and beyond its rivals to get the best devices onto its lineup.

Well folks, it seems that we’ll be seeing that same mentality because the rumors point to the possibility of Big Red getting its own version of the ridiculously large smartphone in the Samsung GALAXY Note – yeah, the same one coming to AT&T officially. According to the rumors spewing ...

Telus announces Samsung Galaxy Note launch, LTE in Q1

Telus announces Samsung Galaxy Note launch, LTE in Q1

Posted on Jan 11, 2012 by MG15

Well here's some pretty fab news: the Samsung Galaxy Note is en route to Canada and that network will boast LTE sometime this quarter. The LTE launch alone gives us tingles up our spines, but coupled with this useful little handset, we're overjoyed. Telus, however, didn't provide any information on the exact date of the Note's launch nor even a hint of what it might cost, but we'd expect that'll come tumbling our way soon. In the interim, have a peek at the press info, our hands-on and give our first impressions a read, won't you?

Samsung Galaxy Note Gets ICS-based CyanogenMod 9 Build

Samsung Galaxy Note Gets ICS-based CyanogenMod 9 Build

Posted on Jan 04, 2012 by MG3

Work on CyanogenMod 9 continues: yesterday saw the release of an experimental development build for the Samsung Galaxy Note, the first port of the new Ice Cream Sandwich-based OS to support the device. Samsung's official Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Note is scheduled to be released before the end of the first quarter of 2012.
The new port is labeled "experimental" for good reason - while wi-fi, cellular data, audio, the touchscreen, and the GPS and sensors should be working properly, Bluetooth, battery usage, MTP mode, and the camera aren't. The team says that the camera won't work until it gets access to one of Samsung's official Android 4.0 builds for the Note, while the build's cur....

Samsung Galaxy Note spotted with AT&T logo

Samsung Galaxy Note spotted with AT&T logo

Posted on Jan 04, 2012 by MG1

The Samsung Galaxy Note has been spotted in a leaked render with an AT&T logo. The South Korea-based phone maker has already confirmed that the popular device will launch in the United States, but we haven’t yet heard a confirmation from a U.S. carrier. That may all change soon, however; the Consumer Electronics Show kicks off in less than a week and AT&T may make a Galaxy Note-related announcement at the show. The device packs a 5.3-inch display with a 1280 x 800-pixel resolution, an 8-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats and a 1.4GHz processor. AT&T’s version of the Galaxy Note will supposedly offer 4G LTE support, too.

The games include such titles as Air Penguin, Air Attack HD, Riptide GP, Paladog, Sprinkle. Samsung Galaxy Note may be headed to AT&T early next year

Samsung Galaxy Note may be headed to AT&T early next year

Posted on Dec 19, 2011 by MG1

The supersized Samsung Galaxy Note may land on AT&T early next year. Pocketnow said Friday that the device could also pack support for AT&T’s 4G LTE network when it does. The Galaxy Note is equipped with a huge 5.3-inch Super AMOLED screen and, due to its size, is often considered the most tablet-like phone on the market. The AT&T version of the device will reportedly be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 processor, as opposed to the 1.4Ghz dual-core Samsung Exynos chip used in the European version, and offers an 8-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and massive 2,500 mAh battery. Unfortunately, rumors suggest the device will run Android 2.3 (Ginger...

Samsung Galaxy Note released in UK

Samsung Galaxy Note released in UK

Posted on Nov 04, 2011 by MG1

The Galaxy Note surprised many with its 5.3-inch, 1280 x 800 Super AMOLED display at a time when some of us were still pondering whether or not 4.5-inches was overkill. Samsung's been pretty quiet about the plus-sized device since that announcement, but a Facebook event today has announced its imminent arrival. In case you forgot, the Galaxy Note comes with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB storage options, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, and an S Pen stylus. The device has also been rooted by XDA Developers. While Samsung hasn't announced any pricing details, two online retailers have filled in that blank for us. Clove is selling the smartphone u...
