UK readers have one more thing to lord over their colonial cousins. Starting today, Archos has made available the long promised Archos 80 G9 Turbo in its full 1.5 GHz glory. Positioned as relative bargains in the Android tablet space, the updated slate can be bought from the UK Archos Store for £199.98 or £239.99, in 8 GB and 16 GB models, respectively. The updated line is shipping with Ice Cream Sandwich on board, so no firmware updates when you open the box.

Archos has finally given a firm launch date and price for its G9 Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablets. Originally announced back in June, the G9 tablets feature dual-core processors clocked at up to 1.5GHz and internal storage of up to 250GB.
The Archos 80 G9, the smaller of the two tablets, will come in an 8GB version with a 1GHz processor. It will cost $299, and will be available for purchase from Archos on September 20. Other retailers will be added in October.
Upgraded versions of the 80 G9, with 1.5GHz processors and storage capacities of 16GB and 250GB, will hit shelves in October. They will cost $329 and $369 respectively. The larger 101 G9 will also be available in October in 16GB and 250GB...

If you're still waiting to pull the trigger on an Android 3.1 tab, decision day may be coming soon. Back in June, Archos revealed two G9 models: the 8-inch 80 and the 10-inch 101. Well... in case you needed time to save up a little extra dough from your paper route, pricing has been revealed ahead of the September release. The smaller of the two tablets will start out at $299.99 and the more stout of the pair at $369.99 (both 8GB base models), a cool Jackson more than originally reported. Archos has been one of the few companies that have been bringing tablets to market at incredibly low prices, and was one of the first to bring an Android tablet to market, even if it was barely notable. The company had released updated Android tablets for insanely low prices, but the build quality and materials used have all been questionable. Well, that may have changed this time around, as Archos recently announced the next generation of its Android tablets, the G9 series.
