HTC Reveals Which Devices Will Unwrap Ice Cream Sandwich

Posted on Mar 15, 2012 by MG3

Do you own a Droid Incredible 2 by HTC? If so, you can expect a future update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The same applies to the HTC Amaze 4G, Desire S, Desire HD, and a dozen other smartphones HTC has confirmed will be upgraded to ICS. Unfortunately, HTC didn't provide specific dates for any of the planned upgrades, so you'll have to settle for warm fuzzies from simply knowing your device is the list.

HTC EVO Design 4G for Sprint

HTC EVO Design 4G for Sprint

Posted on Nov 08, 2011 by MG1

The HTC EVO Design 4G continues the popular EVO line for Sprint, but for a fraction of the cost of what you’d normally expect to pay for the high-end Android smartphone line. The EVO Design 4G is attractive and has that unmistakable HTC build quality, and it runs Android 2.3.4 and runs HTC’s Sense 3.0 UI, so the phone is fresh and mostly up to date. It also supports Sprint’s WiMax network, hence the “4G” in its moniker, so you can expect fast web browsing and speedy data-intensive apps.
While the HTC EVO Design 4G is priced nicely at just $99, it doesn’t feel too much like a budget handset. It certainly has a few drawbacks, and it’s a little on the thick side compared to most of today’s smar...

HTC details Android 4.0 ICS upgrade for 8 smartphones

Posted on Nov 08, 2011 by MG1

Many have wondered what HTC's plans are when it comes to upgrading its existing Android smartphones to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, as the manufacturer has said that it was still evaluating the new operating system and how it fits with HTC's custom Sense interface that it likes to use. Now, those questions have found answers, as HTC has announced a list of eight smartphones that will get Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades in 2012.
The company says that in addition to the just-released HTC Vivid, which is apparently ready for Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL, HTC Sensation XE, HTC Rezound, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G, and HTC Amaze 4G are all planned to get...

Walmart makes boo boo by showing HTC Hero instead of HTC EVO Design 4G in flyer

Walmart makes boo boo by showing HTC Hero instead of HTC EVO Design 4G in flyer

Posted on Oct 31, 2011 by MG1

You might recall the HTC Hero that was released by Sprint back in October 2009, just a few days before the Motorola DROID started Androidmania. The Hero was evolving from the T-Mobile G1 and certainly looks nothing like HTC's current lineup of Android handsets. That is why it seems strange that whomever was checking the copy for Walmart's latest circular let a picture of the 2 year old phone sneak in above copy for the brand new HTC EVO Design 4G.
The HTC Hero variant that landed on Sprint in October 2009 introduced Sense UI to the U.S. and had a elongated look with a trackball on the bottom of the phone. Of course, the HTC EVO Design 4G does not have the trackball and is currently available...

Sprint's HTC EVO Design 4G now just $29.99 on Amazon

Sprint's HTC EVO Design 4G now just $29.99 on Amazon

Posted on Oct 26, 2011 by MG1

Good ol’ Amazon is offering the brand new HTC EVO Design 4G for just $29.99. That’s full 70% off (or “$70 less” whatever sounds better) Sprint’s price of $99.99. Needless to say, you’ll also have to put your signature on a new two-year contract to get the phone. On the other hand, if you’re upgrading or adding a new line, Amazon will take $79.99 out of your pocket. Finally, if you don’t want to commit on a two-year contract with Sprint, there’s the phone-only option, which costs $479.99.
As a reminder, the EVO Design 4G comes with a single-core 1.2GHz processor, 4-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) capacitive touchscreen, WiMAX, EV-DO Rev. A (used in areas where there’s no WiMAX signal around), Wi-Fi...

HTC EVO Design 4G press photo revealed

HTC EVO Design 4G press photo revealed

Posted on Sep 28, 2011 by MG1

The yet-to-be announced HTC EVO Design 4G has been called many other things, such as the Hero S and the Kingdom, but now we have an official press photo to go along with the name.
Given its EVO moniker, this smartphone is more than likely heading to Sprint, although another name change could change that. The specifications of this Android 2.3 powered smartphone suggest it is more of a mid-range handset, much like the HTC EVO Shift 4G was. It features a 4-inch qHD display, a single-core 1.2GHz processor and 768MB of RAM.
The EVO Design 4G has two cameras; a 5 megapixel camera is on the back while a front-facing 1.3 megapixel shooter is there to aid in your video chatting needs. It is still a ...

U.S. Cellular's HTC Hero S pictured alongside Motorola Electrify

U.S. Cellular's HTC Hero S pictured alongside Motorola Electrify

Posted on Sep 26, 2011 by MG3

Aside from the Motorola Electrify, U.S. Cellular will be adding another Android smartphone to its offering in the next couple of days (or weeks). It’s the HTC Hero S, which as far as we see is the carrier’s version of the Kingdom (EVO Design 4G). If that’s true (and we think it is), expect a device with specs that include a single-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, 4-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) display, 5-megapixel camera on the back, front-facing VGA camera (for video calls), GPS, 3G and Wi-Fi data, Bluetooth and so on.

HTC EVO Design 4G leak confirms specs

HTC EVO Design 4G leak confirms specs

Posted on Aug 24, 2011 by MG15

The HTC EVO Design 4G, formerly known has the HTC Kingdom, is a Sprint bound device that we have only known preliminary information until now thanks to a leaked photo and some confirmation on the smartphone’s specs.

For a while it was believed that the HTC Kingdom would be called the HTC Hero 4G. Instead, it was given the EVO moniker just as 2 smartphones (and 1 tablet) had before it. The specifications of the HTC EVO Design 4G are pretty much what they were first rumored to be.
