Nissan creates the world's first self-healing iPhone case

Nissan creates the world's first self-healing iPhone case

Posted on Jan 17, 2012 by MG15

Although the concept of “self-healing” materials might sound like something out of a sci-fi movie, an iPhone 4S case with such properties already exists. And what might surprise you even more is that it is made by Nissan (yes, that Nissan). It is known as the Nissan Scratch Shield iPhone case, and what gives it its magical properties is the same high-tech paint finish that the car manufacturer uses in some of its vehicles. The case, made out of ABS plastic, is covered with polyrotaxane-based paint, which helps it repair on its own and gives it a bit of extra grip too. Verizon's record iPhone sales in Q4 have lowered its profit margins, Apple might have moved 35 million in total

Verizon's record iPhone sales in Q4 have lowered its profit margins, Apple might have moved 35 million in total

Posted on Jan 05, 2012 by MG3

Therefore it isn't rocket science to conclude that the more iPhones sold for the sake of Androids and others, where Verizon subsidizes less, the bigger the carrier's total expenses, hence smaller profits.

Verizon's iPhone 4 activations slow significantly in Q2

Verizon's iPhone 4 activations slow significantly in Q2

Posted on Jul 25, 2011 by MG1

Activations of Apple’s popular iPhone 4 handset slowed significantly at Verizon Wireless last quarter. The nation’s No. 1 carrier reported its second-quarter earnings early Friday morning, at which time it revealed its latest iPhone numbers. Verizon Wireless activated 2.3 million iPhone 4 units in its June quarter for an average of just under 177,000 phones each week. In the first quarter, Verizon Wireless activated 2.2 million iPhones, but the device had been available for just seven weeks in the quarter. During that period, the carrier was activating an average of more than 315,000 devices each week. It stands to reason that iPhone 4 sales would slow following the device’s debut with the c...
