MySpace TV social viewing to launch on Panasonic Viera HDTVs
Like UnlikeFiled in: Panasonic
Well, this is a bit bizarre. Panasonic just brought MySpace on stage at CES to take the wraps off MySpace TV — an app that will be offered on the just-updated Viera line of Panasonic plasma HDTVs. Smartphone and tablet iterations are also planned for the service, which "fully integrates social and television in new ways that add a dimension to content discovery and evolve the traditional television experience" according to the companies. Owners of the upcoming Viera Connect-enabled TVs will be able to download the software, which MySpace says will initially be comprised of music-related content before expanding to movies, sports, and news in the future. Apart from social networking-inspired ...

Panasonic outs 'world's smallest and thinnest' 4K x 2K IPS LCD monitor
Like UnlikeFiled in: MonitorsPanasonic
The world's smallest and thinnest 4K x 2K monitor? According to Panasonic, you're looking at it. Unfortunately the company conveniently also left out its actual size, but what looks to our eyes like a 15 or 17-inch display that's also only 3.5mm thin? Alright, we'll bite. For those that can do math, that's an array of 8 million pixels and vibrant from all angles thanks to IPS-Pro technology. That's great Panasonic, but put it in a tablet or a laptop and we'll show you the greenbacks.

Panasonic adds three full HD camcorders to 2012 lineup

Panasonic added three new Full HD camcorders to their lineup today. The three new camcorders include the HC-V700, HC-V500, and HC-V100, and all three models include single CMOS chips with designs that built upon last year’s models. In addition to a few updates, it appears Panasonic made some administrative changes with its new lineup—this new year ushers in a new naming scheme and sees hard drives eliminated as a built-in memory option.

Panasonic launches HC-X900 flagship prosumer camcorder
Like UnlikeFiled in: CamcordersPanasonicHC-X900M
Panasonic pulled back the curtain on their latest flagship camcorder today—the HC-X900M—another evolutionary upgrade to the top end of their consumer lineup.
The HC-X900M replaces last year’s HDC-TM900, with which it shares most of its specs. It’s built around three separate 1/4.1-inch backlit CMOS sensors, one for each RGB color channel (the so-called 3MOS system, though as we’d expect, there have been some tweaks to the setup).

Panasonic Viera touch remote appears at CES
Like UnlikeFiled in: Panasonic
It looks like Panasonic is trying a new riff on an old idea for smart TV remotes — we've just gotten images of what looks like a new touchpad remote for Viera TVs. It's a pretty simple affair, with a circular touchpad up top and channel and volume buttons down below, but it's certainly better than using a standard remote D-pad to move a cursor around. Panasonic's been down this road before — it introduced a dual-touchpad TV remote at CES 2008 that never went anywhere — but it seems like these sorts of remotes are going to be all the rage this year. We'll try and dig up some more info on this thing soon, so stay tuned.

Ranging in price from $849 to $1,099, the projectors slide into the middle range of Panasonic’s line.

Panasonic announced recently the release of three new projectors that are ideal for traveling and office use. The models include the PT-LW25H, PT-LX30H, and the PT-LX26H. The most powerful model out of the trio is the LW25H, which features 2500 ANSI lumens, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and a WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. The other two both share the same 2500:1 contrast ratio and XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. The only real difference between the LX30H and LX26H is that they come with 3000 ANSI lumens and 2600 ANSI lumens, respectively. All three projectors share an Auto Set Up Function that automatically corrects any screen adjustment features in order to create a square image. This feature also ...
