HTC throwing a party on October 6
Like UnlikeFiled in: HTC
HTC just announced on their Facebook page that they will be hosting a party on October 6 at the rock ‘n roll Roadhouse in London to celebrate the launch of devices with recently acquired Beats Audio.
The invitation doesn’t give too much detail as to what those attending may expect to encounter during the event. HTC has a couple of performances lined up and a “surprise headliner” waiting in the wings to steal the show.
The surprise headliner could simply be another performance or maybe even a new smartphone accompanied by the celebrated Beats Audio. At this point however, your guess would be as good as ours.
It should be mentioned that this party comes just one day before HTC’s media event wh...

Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCRezound
Since we first caught wind of the HTC Vigor, things have been blurry. And I don’t just mean leaked photos — we’ve been back and forth on a few different features like display resolution, or whether or not it’ll be a Droid-branded handset. But for a handset with such an air of mystery, our latest leak has really spilled the beans.
Courtesy of Droid-Life, we now have some semi-clear pictures, and a full list of hardware specifications for what is indeed the HTC Vigor. According to the “Hardware Information” page displayed within the pictures, the Vigor will run a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Sense 3.5, the newest version of HTC’s user interface, will also come pac...

HTC Runnymede may be called the Sensation XL
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCSensation XL
You remember that monster sized Android-powered phone from HTC that has leaked several times over the course of the last few weeks, the HTC Runnymede? Once it becomes official it may actually be called the Sensation XL.
The Runnymede/Senation XL is a beast of a device. It is going to feature a 4.7-inch display like its Windows Phone counterpart the HTC Titan. Powering the device is a single-core 1.5GHz processor. It is also going to be another one of the new devices to feature HTC’s latest acquisition Beats Audio on board. There had been a rumor going around that the Runnymede would be rebranded the HTC Bass once it hit retail shelves, but that is no longer the case.
Calling it the Sensatio...

Moments ago, T-Mobile took the wraps off three new devices. The Amaze 4G features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, a rear illuminated sensor for night shots, a 4.3-inch qHD Super LCD screen, NFC support and the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS. HTC Amaze teases with a few new press pictures
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCAmaze 4G
Earlier this month, we got a quick glance at a new HTC handset headed to T-Mobile, but some more official-looking shots of the HTC Amaze / Ruby have just bubbled up. No additional information, like a release date, accompanied these shots unfortunately.
From what we’ve gathered, the Amaze is going to be a pretty impressive bit of hardware; it’s got a 4.3-inch 960 x 540 touchscreen, a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, and an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash. The HTC Amaze will be running Android 2.3 with Sense 3.5 on top, and connect to T-Mobile’s 42 MBps HSPA+ network.
These high-end specs should provide a solid alternative to the new Samsung Galaxy S II T-Mobile will be offeri...

HTC Vigor Packs Beats Audio, LTE, But No DROID Branding?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCRezound
Here’s a noodle-scratcher to ponder over the weekend: the HTC Vigor was supposedly going to hit Verizon as the Droid Incredible HD, but files leaked from the forthcoming device hint that the phone may not carry the Droid distinction after all.
Someone who was lucky enough to have a Vigor in their possession managed to rip the device’s boot sequence, wallpapers, and sound files, and shared their findings with AndroidPolice.

U.S. Cellular's HTC Hero S pictured alongside Motorola Electrify

Aside from the Motorola Electrify, U.S. Cellular will be adding another Android smartphone to its offering in the next couple of days (or weeks). It’s the HTC Hero S, which as far as we see is the carrier’s version of the Kingdom (EVO Design 4G). If that’s true (and we think it is), expect a device with specs that include a single-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, 4-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) display, 5-megapixel camera on the back, front-facing VGA camera (for video calls), GPS, 3G and Wi-Fi data, Bluetooth and so on.

HTC strikes Dropbox deal, will offer 5GB free on Sense 3.5 phones
Like UnlikeFiled in: HTC
HTC has now launched itself into the clouds, confirming that its latest Android phones will get an extra 3GB of storage with Dropbox. According to Pocket-Lint, the extra space will extend to all HTC devices running Sense 3.5, which at the moment means it's limited to the forthcoming HTC Rhyme. We probably won't see the Dropbox deal extend to HTC's Windows Phones though -- Microsoft reckons it has the whole file-syncing thing covered.
