Canon is a leader in digital imaging solutions. Today, the company announced that they will have two new projectors to their REALiS series very soon. The REALiS WUX5000 and WUX5000 D are almost identical in design. They both feature 5000 ANSI lumens, a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. They also have been fitted Canon’s fourth-generation AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) optical technology that helps enhance the capabilities of the LCoS display chips. Attention amateur photographers and photo camera entrepreneurs, it looks like Canon is about to release its Canon EOS 5D Mark III Full-Frame DSLR. The camera has just been spotted being put through its paces in Kenya, Africa together with Canon’s upcoming 200-400mm zoom lens as Softpedia reports:
From the pictures provided by Aperture Academy, it seems like the new EOS 5D Mark III will be pretty similar to the current 7D and 5D Mark II, but with a slightly larger display and a redesigned button arrangement.

Canon EOS C300 cinema cam gets pre-order status, ships at month's end for $16,000

Back in November we joined Martin Scorsese and other Hollywood luminaries at Paramount Studios for the unveiling of Canon's latest cinema video camera, which is now available for pre-order. The EOS C300, that aims to compete directly against the Reds of the world, carries a Super 35mm CMOS sensor capable of up to 4K resolution 1080p capture, and should be helped in large part by the company's top-shelf lenses; like the 14.5 - 60mm and 30 - 300mm. The Canon HF G10 will remain Canon’s flagship Vixia camcorder for 2012, and the company is not announcing a new top-line consumer camcorder this year at CES. The Canon HF G10 was a powerful and top-notch camcorder when we reviewed it last year, so it’s likely that this year-old model will still be able to hold its own against the newly-minted competition being released from other manufacturers. Still, Canon’s decision to sit on its top model rather than provide a new version with a few updates is somewhat surprising.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 520 HS and 110 HS target your pocket

Canon’s new G1 X isn’t the company’s only fresh PowerShot; there are also two new ELPH point-and-shoots, the 520 HS and 110 HS, each with sub-$300 price tags. The ELPH 520 HS totes a 10.1-megapixel high-sensitivity CMOS and a 12x optical zoom, while the ELPH 110 HS has a 16-megapixel sensor and a smaller, 5x optical zoom.
The 520 HS supports ISO up to 3200 and 28mm wide-angle shots, along with 1080p Full HD video capture and 6.8fps continuous shooting. The 110 HS, meanwhile, also captures 1080p and has the 3200 ISO range, but manages 5.8fps continuous shooting. Its lens is even wider, 24mm, for fitting more into any one shot.

Canon's G series has long been the company's flagship point-and-shoot line, and the PowerShot G1 X the company just announced might be the best yet. The 14.3-megapixel shooter has a 1.5-inch (18.7 x 14mm) sensor, bigger than a Micro Four Thirds sensor and nearly as large as the APS-C sensors inside most DSLRs. (It's also 6.3 times larger than the sensor inside the PowerShot G12.) Canon says it's the largest sensor ever in a PowerShot camera, which might also explain why the G1 X is much more expensive than a typical point-and-shoot — it'll set you back $799.99 when it goes on sale in February. Not taking cues from a certain other manufacturer that unveiled well over a dozen models last week, Canon is adding just two cameras to its PowerShot ELPH family, in addition to the just-announced PowerShot G1 X. The 10.1 megapixel ELPH 520 HS and 16 megapixel ELPH 110 HS both include high-sensitivity CMOS sensors, sensitivity up to ISO 3200, 1080p video capture and 3-inch LCDs. The pricier 520 HS has a 12x wide-angle (28mm) optical zoom lens and can capture burst images at 6.8 frames-per-second, while the 110HS has a 5x optical zoom lens starting at 24mm at the wide angle and can snap up to 5.8 frames per second.

Another leak from Wells Fargo Advisors has revealed a whole host of point-and-shoot cameras due to be announced at CES next week, most notably a new flagship G-series PowerShot model from Canon. The G1X (not to be confused with Panasonic's GX-1) has a huge-for-a-compact 1.5-inch, 14.3-megapixel sensor and a 28-112mm zoom lens that starts at f/2.5. It'll shoot RAW and 1080p video, and will feature what sounds like the same DIGIC 5 image processor as the S100, enabling multi-area white balance and advanced noise reduction. There aren't any details on what the camera actually looks like or what sort of interface it'll use, but we can't wait to see it fully unveiled.

Canon has released updated firmware for its EOS 5D Mark II full-frame DSLR. Firmware v2.2.1 corrects a bug that meant only a single image was captured in continuous shooting mode or AE bracketing continuous mode. It also corrects some menu errors for Dutch language users.

Canon has more on the way from its newly launched EOS Movies lineup than just the C300, as shown by this new prototype DSLR. Promised to be "ideally suited for cinematographic and other digital high-resolution production applications" this camera packs a 35mm full frame image sensor capable of shooting Motion-JPEG encoded 4K video at 24fps. The press pics show it fitted with both EF 50 and new Cine 24 lenses, as Canon looks to blend the success of the 5D MK II with RED-rivaling video capabilities.
