Casio is the creator of the World’s First Hybrid Laser and LED light source. Today, the company announced the release of their latest additions to their Pro series, the XJ-H1700 and the XJ-H1750. Sim2 Releases NERO 3D-2 Projector

Sim2 has been displaying their new Nero series all year. Today, the company announced that their NERO 3D-2 is finally available on the consumer market. This device features 2000 ANSI lumens, a full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and 30000:1 contrast ratio. It is also 3D Ready but doesn’t come with its own 3D glasses. The connection port includes dual HDMI ports, a RGB port, component, and a composite. Other major features include PureMotion, color calibration software, a motorized iris, and more. The retail price was not announced at this time. The other projectors in the series are expected to release within the next few months.

Optoma Releases PK320 Projector

Last year, Optoma unveiled their latest pico projector, the PK320. This device features 80 ANSI lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and WVGA (854 x 480) resolution. Today, it was unveiled that this projector is now available in the UK. The PK320 features a similar design as the PK301. However, the PK320 is a little heavier and comes with a brighter lamp system. The connection panel includes a diverse selection, including a microSD card slot, A/V inputs, a USB port, a VGA port, and an HDMI for digital content. The projector also has a 90 minute battery life, which is good for presentations or short movies. The PK320 retails for just under $450.

Favi Entertainment Releases A3-WiFi Projector

Favi Entertainment announced recently the release of a brand new pico projector, the A3-WiFi. This tiny device weighs about a half pound and features a 1000:1 contrast ratio and SVGA (800 x 600) resolution. The company did not state how bright the projector is, but they did say that the device can display up to a 100” display. The main feature is its Wi-Fi capabilities, which enables it to access the internet. The projector uses an Android OS and can support Microsoft Office documents, PDFs and uses the Internet Explorer web browser. The A3-WiFi is available now through the company’s website or through certified retailers. It is priced at just under $400.

Barco Provides Auro-3D System to Lucasfilms

Panasonic Unveil Laser-Based Projector Engine

Panasonic unveiled today their very first laser optical engine. This tiny device is designed specifically to be used in LCoS pico projectors. The device incorporates red and blue lasers from external companies, but the green laser is Panasonic’s Second Harmonic Generation. The engine is capable of producing 50 ANSI lumens and a native SVGA (800 x 600) resolution. Laser-based projectors have been revered for their ability to never need focusing and can display onto virtually any surface, even curved screens and edges of rooms. The projector is not expected to be available until late 2011. Also, Panasonic stated that the device will be used to create a laptop accessory for Fujitsu.

Epson has announced a new line of projectors that are in the PowerLite family. The new projectors include the PowerLite 420, 425W, 430, and 435W. The new offerings are all made for short throw distances and to be bright. Brightness is important since this sort of projector is often used in a classroom or office when it is bright. Epson Receives Good Design Awards

Epson was happy to announce today that they have received the 2011 Japanese Good Design Award in 5 separate categories. Among them include the EH-TW6000, who won the Best Projector award and the EH-TW8000 who won the Best Home Cinema Projector. Both projectors feature 3LCD display technology and 3D capabilities. The TW6000 can display 2200 ANSI lumens and a 40000:1 contrast ratio. The TW8000 features 2400 ANSI lumens and a 200000:1 contrast ratio. Both models come with a native 1080p HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. Both models have not hit the retail market yet, but they will be before the end of the year.
