The Google Music service that launched back at Google I/O will now work on iOS devices, including both iPhones and iPads. The service has generated very little buzz since its inception and still remains in a private beta stage. However, the service had been rumored for months before its launch and is Google’s first major attempt to rival Amazon’s Cloud Player and Apple’s iTunes with iCloud.

Android 'Ice Cream Sandwich' Coming in October or November?

Last Friday, Google chairman Eric Schmidt slipped that Android 4.0, the next major overhaul to the mobile operating system, will be released in "October or November."
Speaking to Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff at the Dreamforce conference, Schmidt said, "We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October, November." HTC promised that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the DROID Incredible would be coming in September, and it looks like some users are seeing the update show up on their phones already. The update bumps the Incredible up to Android 2.3.4, and includes a number of bug fixes with the new software. Anxious users can head to the About Phone section of the Software Update option in the Settings app to check if the update is ready for them.

Dell Streak 7 on track to get Honeycomb upgrade

Erik Day, Dell's director of marketing for EMEA, has confirmed that the Dell Streak 7 will be getting an upgrade to Android 3.2 (Honeycomb).
Speaking to Thinq, Day demoed the softare on the 7-inch tablets at IFA 2011, but wasn't able to say when the Honeycomb update would come to existing Wi-Fi only Dell Streak 7s.
The Android 3.2 build of Honeycomb was intended to bring the tablet software to smaller than 10-inch slates, so it makes sense for Dell's 7-inch offering to be in line for the upgrade.

Yesterday, the mobile version of the YouTube webpage mysteriously disappeared for Windows Phone users, but the confusion didn’t last long and Google is back, and it seems the daily absence has yielded only good results as when you access the webpage now it shows a refreshed and cleaner user interface. Why should you care for it? Well, the YouTube app in Windows Phone is nothing but a redirect to the mobile version of the website and when you tap on a video you are taken to the media player.

HTC has the most up-to-date Android phones

The Android Update Alliance (AUA) was set up back in May to unite phone makers under the umbrella of timely Android updates, but we haven’t heard a word about the idealistic venture since then.
And just a couple of days ago, we saw that Gingerbread is slowly replacing older versions of the platform, but Froyo is still the dominant flavor. So who can you trust for the fastest updates and the most up-to-date Android versions?

It was only a couple of days ago that a RUU (ROM update utility) leaked online that contained an early build of Android Honeycomb to the HTC Flyer, but now the guys over at XDA have turned that RUU into a flashable ROM.
The screenshots show what Honeycomb looks on the HTC Flyer with the Sense user interface. It is very similar looking to the HTC Jetstream currently available on AT&T. At the moment, this ROM is not quite ready to get pushed out to Flyer owners everywhere. However, it is nice to see that it is possible in the future.

HTC Flyer users, how would you like to see Honeycomb powering your 7 inch tablet? Thanks to a leaked Honeycomb ROM Update Utility (RUU), you can head over to the sourcelink and download what is called a "very early beta build" of Honeycomb for the HTC Flyer. Of course, by doing this you might not be able to root your tablet or put it through the wayback machine to load a more stable version of the OS.

Google has started pushing an update to the Nexus S smartphone that brings it up to Android version 2.3.6. The update is said to include a fix for a voice search bug, along with a few security patches. If there are any other improvements contained within, Google isn't saying. HTC has let it be known that the DROID Incredible and ThunderBolt smartphones will be getting updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread in September. Mozilla announced the launch of its long-awaited Firefox app for Honeycomb tablets, which will “show the evolution of its phone based predecessor,” with some added enhancements. Check out a couple of these screenshots posted by the guys over at XDA China that show what could possibly be the finalized version of the HTC Sense 3.5 user interace for Android devices.
One of the screenshots shows the lock screen which looks to be the same as the one featured on HTC Sense 3.0. The home screens are where most of the changes are made. The icons, including the ones for the phone and for the menu have been revamped.
