The HTC Bliss has been circulating headlines all over in the last week or so, gearing for a possible September 20th launch, and now the first press images have leaked, hinting that the device is right on track to arrvial. The HTC Bliss appears as the HTC Rhyme in these press shots obtained by German tech blog HTCInside, and flaunts an all-new cleaner and intriguing HTC Sense 3.5 on top of Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. What you’re looking at on the press shot seems to be the home screen, which you can populate with quick access icons on the side.
Judging by this latest leak, the handset might after all launch under the HTC Rhyme moniker, or that could be its European nickname. In either case, we...

HTC Bliss to be called the Rhyme, launching September 20?

HTC Bliss to be called the Rhyme, launching September 20?

Posted on Sep 15, 2011 by MG1

The HTC Bliss is a phone we've seen so much of that new press renders don't necessarily show us anything we haven't seen before -- there have been enough hands-on photos, walkthrough videos and leaked Sense 3.5 screenshots that there's really no questioning its future. The image you see above was leaked with a few new pieces of quality information: the Bliss will inevitably become the Rhyme once it hits stores -- which plays right into HTC's infatuation with Beats, though the tech probably won't be incorporated here -- and will likely be announced at the September 20th event (the date on the press image is often a solid indicator). HTCInside is also reporting that the Rhyme will be available...

HTC Runnymede and Bliss details sneak out from leak-town

HTC Runnymede and Bliss details sneak out from leak-town

Posted on Sep 14, 2011 by MG1

Naming your flagship handset after a small village in Surrey isn't what we'd do, but then we aren't in the handset business. The first full render of the HTC Runnymede has leaked and as you can see, it's one big heap of telephone. It's the first phone to benefit from the company's partnership with Beats Audio and will come with a pair of Beats-branded cans rather than regular earbuds. If you missed the specs first time around, the 4.7-inch, 9.9mm thick phone gets a beastly 768MB of RAM, 1.5GHZ Qualcomm chip and a serious 8 megapixel camera with f2.2 lens and double LED flash round back. Availability is still up in the air but we know that UK prices are £499 or £530 for the 16 or 32GB version...

HTC may buy its own smartphone OS

Filed in: Cell PhonesHTC

HTC has seen tremendous success with its Android smartphones, reporting record revenue month after month thanks to ballooning handset shipments. HTC’s Android smartphones are also the target of numerous patent attacks, however, and despite new-found support from Google, the Taiwan-based vendor is reportedly investigating alternative paths. After all, Google’s free operating system is getting expensive. Perhaps as a result, a report from Focus Taiwan states that HTC chairwoman Cher Wang has confirmed that the vendor is considering a purchase of a new smartphone operating system. Read on for more.
“We have given it thought and we have discussed it internally, but we will not do it on impulse,”...

HTC Vigor hits the FCC with a dose of Verizon LTE

HTC Vigor hits the FCC with a dose of Verizon LTE

Posted on Sep 12, 2011 by MG1

Verizon's LTE lineup just keeps looking better and better all the time. The oft-rumored HTC Vigor is the latest device to pass through the halls of the FCC whilst sporting Big Red's 4G frequencies, along with a handy dose of CDMA / EVDO. HTC's still keeping an uber-tight lid on all of the details of this phone, however, mandating that all of the juicy secrets remain confidential for now. The Vigor's rumored to have a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, but we're still in the dark despite the phone's fancy new badge of approval. We're just another baby step closer, folks, so feel free to peruse the numbers and graphs in the source link.

HTC Holiday running on AT&T's 4G LTE network photographed

HTC Holiday running on AT&T's 4G LTE network photographed

Posted on Sep 07, 2011 by MG1

BGR has obtained photographs of the still-unannounced HTC Holiday Android phone, which may be AT&T’s first 4G LTE-enabled smartphone. We were also shown the results of LTE speed tests taken on the HTC Holiday in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas, and from what we saw, they topped out at an incomprehensible 29Mbps — far faster than the fastest speeds we have seen on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Of course AT&T’s 4G LTE network is basically empty right now since it hasn’t yet officially launched, but we definitely like what we’re seeing so far. As far as the HTC Holiday hardware goes, previously reported spec highlights include Android 2.3.4, a 4.5-inch qHD display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8...

T-Mobile roadmap leaked: Galaxy S II, HTC Ruby and tablet

Posted on Sep 07, 2011 by MG1

Many of you T-Mobile fans are anxiously awaiting the Galaxy S II and we’re happy to tell you that a leaked roadmap says it should launch at the end of October.
TMoNews got its hands on the leaked schedule for the next few months and it shows that the Android superphone from Samsung should be landing in late October but we still don’t have a specific release date. We know the Sprint version of the Galaxy S II will be coming first in September, so let’s hope it doesn’t lag too long.
Confirming a previous rumor, the leaked roadmap says late October should also be the release date of the HTC Ruby, or what could be called the “Amaze 4G.” This Android beast is expected to have a 4.3-inch screen an...

HTC Ruby found in the jungles of Thailand

HTC Ruby found in the jungles of Thailand

Posted on Sep 07, 2011 by MG1

Last month a blurry photo and a rough spec sheet for a device known as the HTC Ruby started circling around the internet. The Ruby was also said to be coming to the United States as the “Amaze 4G” on T-Mobile. Thanks to the Thai website Droid Sans, we now not only have clearer pictures of the Ruby, but confirmation that the absolutely ridiculous spec sheet we saw in August wasn’t just a fanboi’s wet dream, but indeed real. You’re looking at a device with a 4.3 inch screen that has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, a dual core 1.5 GHz processor that’s paired up with 1 GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera with a dual LED flash, a forward facing 2 megapixel camera, and best of all support for 42 Mb...

Pre-orders are expected to be available for the HTC Radar and Titan - priced at £285 and £415 respectively

Posted on Sep 05, 2011 by MG1

Yesterday, HTC managed to execute a one-two punch as they officially unveiled their upcoming Windows Phone 7 Mango smartphones – the HTC Radar and Titan. Even though release dates weren’t mentioned regarding the two, we’re getting a clearer picture with pricing instead thanks to retailer Clove UK.
In fact, the popular mobile online retailer is going to start accepting pre-orders for the two device later today as the HTC Radar will be selling for £285 ($461). Meanwhile, the more compelling HTC Titan is going to be priced at a heftier £415 ($672), which is indeed wallet chomping in price. Still, Clove UK intends on getting shipments sometime in early October – so you’ll need to wait a good mon...

HTC Runnymede: Are these guys seriously launching a 4.7 inch phone?

HTC Runnymede: Are these guys seriously launching a 4.7 inch phone?

Posted on Sep 02, 2011 by MG1

Large smartphones are something that polarize the mobile community. When the first generation Samsung Galaxy S shipped it packed a 4 inch screen. Many people were protesting at what was at the time considered a monstrosity. It didn’t take very long for someone to outdo the Galaxy S however and release a 4.3 inch smartphone; that made even more people cringe. The madness doesn’t stop there though, at the Consumer Electronics Show this year the 4.5 inch Samsung Infuse was announced for AT&T and it was, to put it lightly, ridiculous. During this week alone Samsung announced two devices with a 4.5 inch screen, the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and the T-Mobile variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II. HTC, ...
