Oops! Microsoft Lets Possible Social Media Plans Slip

As far as social media is concerned, Microsoft's more of an awkward wallflower than the fun-loving center of the party. They've toed the waters before, sure – Bing Social, the "awesome" Skype announcement and the company's 1.6-percent stake in Facebook are all proof that Microsoft's at least eyeing the field. But a slip-up on the Microsoft-owned socl.com hints that the boys and girls from Redmond may be considering wading in the social network pool, if not quite jumping in head first.

According to a report released by HIS iSuppli, the price of HDTVs have risen for the third straight month. Part of this price hike is due to the more companies releasing 3DTVs, which are typically more expensive. The report states that the average price of flat panel TVs have risen as high as $10 a month for the past three months. “The biggest pricing increases for flat-panel televisions last month were among the new 3D models employing active shutter glasses, the most popular type of three-dimensional set on the market today,” said Riddhi Patel, director for television systems and retail services at IHS.

HP changes the processor in the Pre 3

In a move that has gone completely unannounced, it appears that HP has changed the processor found inside of the yet-to-be released Pre 3 from a single-core 1.4GHz to a dual-core 1.2GHz processor.
This info comes courtesy of the official Pre 3 specs page on HP’s product site. Previously, the Pre 3 had a 1.4GHz Scorpion processor listed as the chipset of choice. For unknown reasons, HP has instead opted to include a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor inside of the device. Perhaps the change of heart is the reason that the Pre 3 has seen delays.

We don’t have this official confirmed but are still pretty confident Sprint and Samsung will release a small firmware update for the Samsung Replenish. That “small” part means it won’t get Gingerbread to the eco-friendly Android smartphone — rather once the phone is updated, some of the known bugs and issues will be resolved, making the phone run faster. The information comes from AndroidCentral, which managed to get it from the leaked Sprint playbook, confirming the firmware release date is set for July 18th.
