Like UnlikeFiled in: SamsungApple

Why developers shouldn't abandon WebOS yet
Like UnlikeFiled in: Operating SystemsHPwebOS 3.0
Hewlett-Packard's surprise announcement that it would end production of its WebOS smartphones and tablets left a lot of developers in a lurch (although exact numbers are hard to come by). As of now, the WebOS development community is effectively an ecosystem in search of a platform.
What next? The smartphone OS market is consolidating, with the lion's share divided between Google's Android and Apple's iOS. Either one of those would be a fine choice for WebOS developers looking to jump ship, but neither offers a development environment that much resembles the WebOS SDK. Meanwhile, Microsoft has been actively wooing WebOS developers to come over to Windows Phone 7, with promises of free smart...

Suspected Anonymous Hacker Faces Potential 10-Year Prison Sentence
Like UnlikeA 22-year-old arrested back in early April for his suspected involvement in hacker attacks as part of the Anonymous hacking group has been formally charged by British police, according to an Associated Press report. Not many details have been released, though the suspect has been identified as Peter David Gibson, currently a student at Hartlepool.
If convicted, Gibson faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. More likely, however, is that he'll plea bargain for a lesser punishment and fork over intel on Anonymous at large (note that plea bargaining in the U.K. works differently than it does in the U.S.). Anonymous has been behind several high profile hacker attacks in recent months, a...
