Samsung’s Galaxy S and Galaxy S II have sold more than 30 million units since first launching at the 2010 Mobile World Congress. To put that into some perspective, that’s happened over a span of 20 months, so that’s an average of 1.5 million units sold every month. Samsung now wants to ban iPhone 4S sales in Australia and Japan

Posted on Oct 17, 2011 by MG1

The ongoing legal battle between Apple and Samsung gets another turn as Samsung now has filed motion for an injunction on Apple iPhone 4S sales in Japan and Australia. Earlier, the Korean company said that it will try to ban sales of the iPhone 4S in France and Italy just a day after its launch as the handset allegedly infringes on its patents.
"In light of these violations, Samsung believes the sale of such Apple devices should be banned," Samsung said in a statement.
At the same time, Apple on its part says it owns a “thicket of patents,” but would only agree licensing “lower level patents.” This basically means that Apple is not there for the money like Microsoft which has reportedly sign...

Silicon Valley’s most prominent ones headed to Stanford University's Memorial Church on Sunday evening, all gathering to pay tribute to Apple’s chief executive Steve Jobs. The iconic CEO passed away last week at the age of 56, losing a lengthy battle with cancer.
The memorial service was private, just like everything Apple - walled off from the public’s eye. The Stanford area was heavily populated with police and security when black limousines started arriving.
Tim Cook, who took over the company after Jobs announced his resignation, was one of them, accompanied by a man wearing a Buddhist garb, and they both walked into the chapel. Steve Jobs was known for also practicing Buddhism. Apple’s ...

Google Voice pulled from App Store following iOS 5 crash

Posted on Oct 17, 2011 by MG1

What once was there now is gone. Earlier today, Google Voice was just two clicks away in the iOS App Store. Now, all that remains is a page cache (at the source link below) and versions of the app that were already installed on iPhones and iPod touches. Vincent Paquet, Senior Product Manager for Google Voice confirmed that the app had been pulled, explaining "our last update of this week had a bug that caused the app to crash at sign in. We removed it so it did not affect additional users until the fix gets published."
