Nokia Lumia 900 to be released in March?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesNOKIALumia 900
Has the Nokia Lumia 900 caught your attention? If so, you are not alone. In fact, everybody seems to like Nokia's first LTE Windows Phone, and a number of people are probably thinking of grabbing one when it hits the shelves. There is one thing that was omitted during the Lumia 900's announcement, however, namely its release date. All that we were given was the rather vague “next few months” statement.
But now, thanks to a clue spotted inside of a Nokia Developer newsletter, we have a reason to believe that the Nokia Lumia 900 could be available for purchase no later than March of this year. The one who shared the discovery with the world clarifies that March 18 could be the smartphone's exa...

Sprint's HTC Evo 3D gets a small update [It's not Ice Cream Sandwich]
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesHTCEVO 3D
Sprint released a small firmware update for the HTC Evo 3D. “Small” obviously doesn’t include Ice Cream Sandwich and I guess we’ll have to wait for another month or so to see Android 4.0 rolling out for the 3D smartphone.
The new software version comes with some improvements under the hood that improve the battery life and the overall security of the device. Moreover, there’s the updated Peep client (to align with Twitter).
By the time you’re reading this, you may’ve been already prompted to update. If not – don’t worry, Sprint said every Evo 3D owner will get the new firmware in the next 5 days.

LightSquared asks NASA for investigation into GPS advisory board
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesGPS
LightSquared has asked NASA’s inspector general to investigate whether or not an advisor to federal agencies has conflicts of interest that make it unfair for him to determine whether or not LightSquared’s 4G LTE network interferes with GPS networks. The advisor was named as Bradford Parkinson, who works both as a vice chairman of Trimble Navigation, an industry board that advises federal agencies on GPS technology, and also as a Stanford University professor, The Wall Street Journal said Friday. “His involvement on both has been known by everyone involved since concerns of GPS interference by LightSquared were raised,” a GPS coalition spokesperson Dale Leibach told The Wall Street Journal. ...

Like UnlikeAt the Consumer Electronics Show on Thursday, Texas Instruments showed off the company’s OMAP 5 chipset in a reference platform running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The 28nm system on a chip (SOC) features a dual-core ARM Cortex A15 CPU, 2MB L2 cache, a PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU and a dual-channel LPDDR2-533 memory interface. Change the history books, John Sculley says he never fired Steve Jobs
Like UnlikeFiled in: Apple
The history books record Steve Jobs' departure from the company he co-founded as the result of being fired by the Apple Board of Directors on behalf of the man he brought in to run the company. Now, 26 years later, it looks like the history books will have to be re-written. Brought into Apple in 1983 by Steve Jobs, John Sculley had absolutely no background in running a tech company . Sculley was CEO of Pepsi at the time, and Apple's board felt that Jobs was too young to be CEO of his own company. Jobs got Sculley to jump ship by asking him, "Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life or do you want to come with me and change the world?”
John Sculley was brought to Apple for tw...

iPhone 5 may run on all 3G and 4G networks (except WiMAX of course)
Like UnlikeFiled in: Apple
Remember that Qualcomm chip that we told you about back in November? The one that had far better energy usage and seemed like a sure bet to be part of the iPhone 5? Well, it seems Morgan Stanley just noticed that chip was in the pipeline and has come out with a bold statement that it may be in the next iPhone.
Of course, while Morgan Stanley may be a bit late to the party on that piece of news, it did bring a bit of extra news to the table. We had already known that the chip by Qualcomm would be a world-band radio with compatibility with EV-DO Rev. A and B, HSPA+, dual-carrier HSPA+, and LTE, but what we didn't know is that it would be compatible with all frequencies of LTE.

All white Samsung Galaxy Tabs emerge in Vietnam
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsSamsungGALAXY Tab 10.1Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
Samsung has released white versions of several of the company’s mobile devices lately. While the back of the various devices would be white, the front bezel around the screen typically remained black — that is, until now. It would appear that Samsung has been working on a white bezel to integrate into the company’s future milky-colored devices; a white Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus have emerged in Vietnam and feature truly all white design. The specs of the Tab 10.1 and Tab 7.0 Plus remain unchanged, reports claim. No pricing or availability details have been announced.

Samsung plans tweaked Galaxy Tab 7.0N to skirt Apple patent complaints
Like UnlikeFiled in: TabletsSamsungAppleGalaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
Samsung is reportedly planning to launch a tweaked version of its Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus tablet in Germany. The Galaxy Tab 7.0N will likely offer many of the same features of the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus but with design changes that could help it avoid litigation from Apple. Apple and Samsung have been butting heads in courtrooms around the globe and Apple last year successfully banned Samsung’s local subsidiaries from selling the Galaxy Tab 10.1. As a result, Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab 10.1N, which has also been the subject of ongoing patent litigation. The Galaxy Tab 7.0N is expected to cost about $770 without carrier subsidies.

Plextor's PlexEasy backs up your photos, phone and tablet without a computer
Like UnlikeFiled in: Plextor
It was first announced in Europe just about a month ago, but Pextor's PlexEasy stand-alone DVD burner is finally hitting the market. The drive backs up data to CDs and DVDs directly from a variety of sources -- including SD cards, cameras, smartphones or tablets over USB. While it's made to be used without a PC it can be connected to one and draw it's power from your computer's USB ports. Despite Plextor touting its release here at CES we couldn't actually track down any info about pricing, but we'll make sure to update this post as soon as we do. Check out the complete PR after the break.

LG’s Chromebook plans have apparently been outed, with Microsoft revealing the company is working on – or at least considering – using Google’s Chrome OS platform to create a cloud-loving notebook. The fast-booting OS was mentioned alongside Android in Microsoft’s triumphant patent announcement earlier, in which the software company said the new agreement covers “LG’s tablets, mobile phones and other consumer devices running the Android or Chrome OS Platform.”
