Grab the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for one cent on Amazon Wireless

Grab the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for one cent on Amazon Wireless

Posted on Jun 06, 2012 by MG1

As per usual, Amazon Wireless is throwing up some great deals on smartphones and is offering the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for a mere penny. While the handset may be 6 months old at this point (Ancient in Android phone years), it’s still a great phone and grabbing it for a penny is a steal.
Of course, to get the Galaxy Nexus for a penny, you’re going to need to sign a two-year contract with Verizon. Also, this deal is only for new customers, and existing Verizon customers will still have to pay up $149 to get the handset. While we really like the Galaxy Nexus, if you’re looking to upgrade your phone within the next two months, we’d suggest you wait it out for the Samsung Galaxy S III that should ...

Nokia Pureview 808 available for pre-order on Amazon UK

Posted on May 31, 2012 by MG3

The Nokia Pureview 808 is an average smartphone with a plethora of ordinary features except for one: it has a 41MP Carl Zeiss lens. Photography enthusiasts can rejoice because it’s now available for pre-order on Amazon UK.
Now hold on just a second. Is this thing really capable of snapping photos with a 41 megapixel resolution? If you look closely at Nokia’s advertising, it says that the Pureview 808 has astounding 41MP “image quality.” This means that the photos it does take have quality comparable to a 41MP photo, but in a nutshell, no it does not take 41MP photos.

Amazon Wireless offering up the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for only $100

Amazon Wireless offering up the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for only $100

Posted on Jan 27, 2012 by MG1

Amazon Wireless is known for some rockin’ deals when it comes to new smartphones but its latest offering is a doozy. You can grab the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for a mere $100 on a new two-year contract with Verizon.
The Galaxy Nexus was officially released on Verizon just a little over a month ago, so seeing the powerful handset come in at this price is pretty awesome. Those who craved the Pure Google experience on the handset but weren’t in love with paying up $300 now have their chance to get the best of both worlds. That said, if you’re serious about grabbing one of these bad boys at this discounted rate, we’d suggest you do so as soon as possible. At this price, the offer probably won’t be a...

Unlocked version of the Nokia Lumia 800 lands on Amazon for $649.99

Posted on Dec 07, 2011 by MG1

Are you still waiting around to pick up the highly regarded Nokia Lumia 800, but don’t feel like importing the Windows Phone Mango device? Well, you can now purchase one directly from Amazon – though, it’s still from a third-party seller.
In any event, the listing is for an unlocked version of the Nokia Lumia 800, which means you can pop in your SIM and start using it right away. Naturally, AT&T customers should take notice of this one seeing that the handset is compatible to work with the carrier’s HSPA network. Meanwhile, T-Mobile customers can still opt to use the handset with the carrier, but considering that it doesn’t support Tmo’s 1700MHz band, you’ll be surfing the web on EDGE speeds...

Amazon offering awesome smartphones for a penny

Amazon offering awesome smartphones for a penny

Amazon is kicking off the holiday shopping season early by offering multiple, high-end smartphones for a penny when you sign up for a new, two-year contract. Additionally, if you get a phone with a hotspot and activate it, then you can get a $100 Amazon gift card.
We’re not talking about junk smartphones either, as you can get the recently-released Droid Razr for just a penny. In our full review, we were a little disappointed with the battery life but found the design to be striking and the device is packed with all the features you’d like in a modern smartphone.
If that’s not your style, you can also pick up the Samsung Galaxy S II, Epic Touch 4G for a penny as well. We absolutely love this...

Samsung Galaxy Nexus shipping delayed by Amazon UK

Samsung Galaxy Nexus shipping delayed by Amazon UK

Posted on Nov 10, 2011 by MG1

We are still waiting for proper information about the release dates, locations and carriers for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and in some bad news it seems that Amazon UK has delayed the shipping date of the phone to December 2nd.
This obviously doesn't indicate a wider delay with the Galaxy Nexus, but it certainly isn't good news. The pre-order page for the Galaxy Nexus on Amazon UK has recently changed the shipping date of the phone to December 2nd. O2 still has the release of the Galaxy Nexus listed as "Soon: November", so this may just be an issue with Amazon UK.
We'll bring you more as we get it.

Verizon's Motorola Droid Bionic now available for $119 at Amazon

Verizon's Motorola Droid Bionic now available for $119 at Amazon

Posted on Nov 09, 2011 by MG1

Amazon has once again lowered the price of Verizon’s Motorola Droid Bionic, now selling it for $119. Of course, a new two-year contract is required but that’s like given these days. And that’s still much lower than $249, which is the phone’s price at Verizon’s website.
Now, we all know Verizon will soon start selling the Droid RAZR that we also know as the “world’s thinnest smartphone” as well as the Nexus Galaxy, both of which are better in some ways than the Droid Bionic. Actually, RAZR is only thinner than the Bionic, while the rest of the specs are pretty much identical. That said, the Bionic is still one of the best smartphones in the Big Red’s portfolio and grabbing it for 120 bucks ma...

Sprint's HTC EVO Design 4G now just $29.99 on Amazon

Sprint's HTC EVO Design 4G now just $29.99 on Amazon

Posted on Oct 26, 2011 by MG1

Good ol’ Amazon is offering the brand new HTC EVO Design 4G for just $29.99. That’s full 70% off (or “$70 less” whatever sounds better) Sprint’s price of $99.99. Needless to say, you’ll also have to put your signature on a new two-year contract to get the phone. On the other hand, if you’re upgrading or adding a new line, Amazon will take $79.99 out of your pocket. Finally, if you don’t want to commit on a two-year contract with Sprint, there’s the phone-only option, which costs $479.99.
As a reminder, the EVO Design 4G comes with a single-core 1.2GHz processor, 4-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) capacitive touchscreen, WiMAX, EV-DO Rev. A (used in areas where there’s no WiMAX signal around), Wi-Fi...

Amazon UK has vendor with Samsung GALAXY Nexus in stock November 7th for $930

Amazon UK has vendor with Samsung GALAXY Nexus in stock November 7th for $930

Posted on Oct 26, 2011 by MG1

According to Verizon's latest MAP listings, we expect to see the Samsung GALAXY Nexus launch in the States on November 10th. But if the listing for the phone spotted on Amazon's UK site is correct, we might see it released a few days earlier overseas and maybe-just maybe-in the U.S. as well. The listing comes from someone with the name "KingofGadgets" which might put a bit of a damper on this whole thing.
The version of the Samsung GALAXY Nexus on the Amazon UK site is SIM free and unlocked which means in the U.S., it will be running over AT&T's 3G pipelines. The price is 539.99 GBP which is approximately $930 USD. Of course, if you are a Verizon customer, and have an update to burn, you wi....

Amazon has already slashed the price of the Samsung Epic 4G Touch and is offering the Sprint variant of the Galaxy S II for only $99.99 for a new line of service or $149.99 with a qualified two-year upgrade.
Amazon has made dramatic price cuts before and this one definitely should not be overlooked. The Samsung Epic 4G Touch is perhaps the best device currently available in Sprint’s stable of smartphones. Sprint version of the Galaxy S II features a massive 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Exynos processor and 1GB of RAM. It also features the latest version of Android in the form of 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

Droid Bionic's secrecy betrayed on Amazon, by simple dock listings

Droid Bionic's secrecy betrayed on Amazon, by simple dock listings

Posted on Jul 25, 2011 by MG1

We had our hands on a raw version of the Droid Bionic way back at CES, but two listings on Amazon for desktop and car docking stations, uncovered by Android Central forum posters, may give the clearest look at the phone so far. As you can see in the shot above of the desktop dock Motorola's slab appears to have a chrome ring running around the outside, while the dock itself has a 3.5mm audio out, HDMI output and USB ports. There's no price or release date listed for either accessory but if you've been lusting over the beast and its rumored specs we're figuring some quiet time with these shots is just what the doctor ordered -- check after the break for a shot of the car dock and the back of ...
