HP TouchPad 4G for AT&T Announced

The HP TouchPad 4G has just been announced for AT&T, and this version will be sporting a 1.5GHz processor, which is a pretty nice bump up from the 1.2GHz processor that the Wi-Fi-only model uses. It has 32GB of internal memory and GPS and Wi-Fi capabilities, too, so it’s a pretty solid piece of hardware overall. And while it’s called the TouchPad 4G, it’s probably in reference to AT&T’s HSPA+ network and not its soon-to-be-launched LTE solution.

Second hacker indicted in AT&T iPad hacking

The second of two hackers arrested over stealing iPad data this year has been formally charged in a Newark court. Andrew Auernheimer was accused of identity theft and conspiracy to get unauthorized access to a computer. Along with Daniel Spitler, who recently pleaded guilty, Auenhimer is alleged to have obtained the personal e-mail addresses and other info for about 120,000 iPad 3G users on AT&T in June of last year.

Samsung's mid-sized Galaxy Tab 8.9 has been a bit elusive as of late, but it's now landed in the spot where all devices go to prepare for their big debut: the FCC. What's more, this particular model isn't just WiFi-only like the current Galaxy Tab 10.1 -- it also sports 3G connectivity, and the bands specified in the FCC filing indicate that it's likely headed to AT&T. 26-year old pleads guilty to hacking AT&T iPad data

Last year hackers made headlines when AT&T announced to a security breach that had allowed hackers to access the personal data from 114,000 iPad 3G users. On Thursday, 26-year old Daniel Spitler from San Francisco pleaded guilty to two crimes: conspiracy to gain unauthorized access to computers and identity theft.
