It's been said that Apple has managed to "steal" every CES for the past five years, and without a doubt, it all started on January 9th, 2007. In a day that'll live on in Engadget lore as being one of the zaniest, most overwhelming 24 hours in our history, we can fondly recall shipping Ryan Block a few hours northwest from the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center to the MacWorld Expo to cover what would go down as one of Apple's most memorable keynotes. What happened after that is evident to just about anyone who has even heard of a mobile phone, with Apple's singular smartphone (yes, the iPhone) going on to but pressure on the likes of Microsoft, RIM and even Google. BuzzMob is the latest company to join the location-based social networking space. Their mobile app, at the moment available only for iPhone, allows users to connect with the people around them while experiencing the same social activity like concerts and sporting events. Moreover, BuzzMob also says their service is well suited for college campuses and shopping centers.

Apple has been accused for the second time of manipulating images presented as part of its patent infringement suit against Samsung, this time for resizing shots of the Galaxy S so that they more closely resemble the iPhone 3G. Whereas Apple’s evidence shows two identically-scaled devices, ComputerWorld points out that in fact the Galaxy S is longer and wider than the iPhone 3G.

The big G's photo-sharing app has left the private beta mode it's been in the last few weeks, and is now available to download by any iPhone owner who likes the idea of "growing vines" based on their photographic adventures.

Like the Google Catalogs app yesterday, Photovine seems to only be available on the iOS App Store—what's with that, Google? No love for us Android users? It's a free download, and yes, your photos can be posted to Twitter and Facebook for maximum piss-yer-friends-off functionality.
