Motorola ATRIX 2 sees a new software update, but it's not for ICS

Let’s get it out of the way, it’s not the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update that some handset owners are dreaming about in their sleep, but rather, the Motorola ATRIX 2 is seeing nothing more than a maintenance update.
Requiring owners to download the update via a Wi-Fi connection, the software update brings forth some new enhancements, tweaks, and fixes that will no doubt extend the handset’s functionality even further.
Specifically, it features improvements to the performance of the camera, the installation of the Google Music app, enhancements to deliver greater device security, addition of emergency alerts for things such as Hurricane warning notifications, improvements to the keyboa...

Motorola LAPDOCK 100 turns select Moto smartphones into laptops

Motorola LAPDOCK 100 turns select Moto smartphones into laptops

Posted on Oct 13, 2011 by MG1

This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for, the moment when smartphones are beginning to replace laptop computers. The newly unveiled Motorola LAPDOCK 100 connects to select Moto smartphones effectively turning them into laptops.
To be fair, we’ve already seen something similar in the past with Celio REDFLY products, which worked with Windows Mobile devices, providing users with big screen and big keyboard. This time, however, we’re talking about an Android-based solution and we’re hoping other handset manufacturers and/or third-party accessory makers will release more of such “docks” that sing along an array of smartphones.
The Motorola LAPDOCK 100 weighs 2.2lbs (less than 1Kg) and works...

AT&T starts CTIA off right by introducing five new smartphones to its Android lineup

AT&T starts CTIA off right by introducing five new smartphones to its Android lineup

Posted on Oct 11, 2011 by MG1

At CTIA last March, AT&T stole the show by announcing its intent to purchase T-Mobile US. This time around the news is a bit more modest, but the company is still hoping to give us a bit of a shock by introducing a litany of new handsets right on time for the holiday season. The carrier promised the release of 12 Android devices throughout the course of the year, and this week's announcement pushes the 2011 running count to 19. Not too shabby. Naturally, we're looking for quality more than quantity, so we couldn't wait to dig into the devices that are coming out. Check out all five after the break, along with a quick video teaser.

Motorola may have big plans for the holiday season, at least according to a few new leaks from This is my next. Official press shots of the AT&T ATRIX 2 and its brand new Laptop Dock 100 accessory were spilled recently, as were details on an unannounced Motorola Spyder smartphone and two models of the XOOM 2 tablet. Last week we published an exclusive first look at the ATRIX 2 and now several of the phone’s specs have supposedly been confirmed. It is equipped with a 4.3-inch display with a qHD resolution, 8GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera. Motorola ATRIX 2 images and details revealed

Posted on Sep 21, 2011 by MG1

BGR has just been given photos of the follow up to the original Motorola ATRIX 4G, the Motorola ATRIX 2, internally known as the Motorola Edison. The Motorola ATRIX 2 will not be an LTE device according to our source, though the phone will launch with a dual-core processor (either 1.2 or 1.5GHz TI OMAP, we’d assume), an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, and Android Gingerbread 2.3.5. We weren’t given a launch time-frame, though we’d expect the phone to touch down in the next few months, most likely around Thanksgiving. Check out all of the photos in our Motorola ATRIX 2 gallery!
