BlackBerry Bold 9900 now available in white with Vodafone UK
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesRIM BlackBerryBold 9900
The BlackBerry Bold line has a history of white variants, and the new BlackBerry Bold 9900 has now lived up to its pedigree, scoring one with Vodafone UK. We've previously seen information that both Telus and Rogers are going to have the white version in Canada, that it'll be up for sale in Netherlands, and earlier this year there was a leaked shot of it from Dubai — but now the white 9900 finally gone official, in the UK anyway. The variant is available immediately through Vodafone, and is free on a two-year, £39 per month contract.

Waiting for those new BlackBerries arriving on AT&T? After they've arrived on Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile, the wait will soon be over for AT&T as well. The nation's second-biggest carrier will get three new BlackBerries riding its 4G HSPA+ network:
- the RIM BlackBerry Bold 9900 has its release date set for November 6th,
- RIM BlackBerry Torch 9860 coming November 6th,
- RIM BlackBerry Curve 9360 on November 20th.
The classical Bold 9900 is arriving this Sunday carrying a price tag of $199.99 when purchased with a two-year contract agreement. The screen-centric Torch 9860 is even more affordable and is getting released on the same date. Finally, the Curve 9360 is the last one to arrive and...

BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Curve 9360 MasterCard PayPass approved

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the BlackBerry Curve 9360 are the world's first SIM-based NFC smartphones to be MasterCard PayPass approved, Research in Motion has announced.
What this means is that the devices have met the financial giant's guidelines and, as such, any MasterCard PayPass-issuing bank will now be able to offer MasterCardPayPass-enabled accounts to the SIM card of these smartphones.
Basically this will turn your BlackBerry into a mobile wallet, in much the same way that the Samsung Wave 578 offers NFC action with Orange and Barclaycard.
"MasterCard is proud to be the first to certify these popular BlackBerry smartphones for mobile payments, and offer consumers another simple, ea...

Late to the party, AT&T to launch BlackBerry Bold 9900 on November 6th
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesRIM BlackBerryAT&TBold 9900
Whatever happened to tradition? After all, it was AT&T that helped RIM step up and become a more relevant smartphone manufacturer with the launch of the BlackBerry Bold 9000 in 2008. The shape and size of the device had many becoming fans at first touch. And of course, the physical QWERTY on that phone is one of the best ever to be melded onto a handset. We can still remember the ads AT&T was running proclaiming it the fastest 'Berry ever with a 624MHz processor under the hood (compared to the single-core 1.2GHz processor in the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930).

T-Mobile slices the upgrade price of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 starting today
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesRIM BlackBerryT-MobileBold 9900
According to some photographs of T-Mobile pricing documents, the mobile operator is cutting the 2-year upgrade price of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 from $299.99 to $249.99 starting today. The nation's fourth largest carrier had given the handset the highest price out of the three major U.S. carriers offering the model. Following the price cut, T-Mobile's price will match the $249.99 subsidized price Verizon is asking for the CDMA variant of the phone, the BlackBerry Bold 9930. That still is $50 more than the $199.99 that Sprint is charging for the BlackBerry Bold 9930.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 in white spotted and photographed

What is it about the color white that makes a handset look more luxurious? Take the BlackBerry Bold 9900 for instance. With a physical portrait-oriented QWERTY keyboard that many call the best ever attached to a cell phone, the device in black looks every inch the flagship model that it currently is for RIM. Make the casing and keys in white and the BlackBerry Bold 9900 looks even better.

The white BlackBerry Bold 9900 in the photo was spotted at a technical exhibition in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. But this is not the first time that we have seen this model looking pale. Back in August, a T-Mobile reseller in Hungary showed a slide that had both the b...

BlackBerry Bold 9900 now available at T-Mobile

RIM’s latest batch of BlackBerry smartphones have been gradually working their way out to various carriers over the last few weeks, and now there’s yet another notch to scratch. T-Mobile now has the BlackBerry Bold 9900 on sale for $299.99 on a two-year contract, as expected. That pricetag is a little on the high side, but up here in Canada, Bell has already slashed the price to $100 on a three-year contract, so expect a few cuts in the near future.
The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is spearheading RIM’s latest efforts, offering a 2.8-inch touchscreen with a 640 x 480 resolution, 1.2 GHz processor, 768 MB of RAM, and a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video recording. The operating system is more or less...

BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 appear in Rogers upgrade system
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesRIM BlackBerryBold 9900Torch 9810
While we'd heard word on Bell's -- and most of the US carriers -- pending launch of the Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 BlackBerry 7 devices, the Rogers rumor mill stayed shuttered. That's all changed with the lovely screengrab you can peep above apparently from the Rogers point-of-sale system upgrades department. While sadly this little gem doesn't mention dates or pricing for this highly anticipated duo, Rogers has typically been first to market with new BlackBerry goods in Canada -- and we're hopeful that holds true in this case. But if we had to guess at a ballpark figure, Vodafone UK priced the Bold 9900 at roughly $650 and has us thinking we might see something in that realm over here. There'...

AT&T to launch BlackBerry Torch 9810 this month, Torch 9860 and Bold 9900 later this year
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesRIM BlackBerryAT&TBold 9900Torch 9810Torch 9860
Research in Motion has had better days -- and years, for that matter -- but it's always had a loyal partner in AT&T, a company that's cranked out BlackBerry products faithfully for the past twelve years. The tradition continues, as the GSM giant has announced its intentions to bring the 4G BlackBerry Torch 9810 (aka the Torch 2) to stores sometime this month, followed by the 4G BlackBerry Torch 9860 and 4G Bold 9900 "later this year." No specific dates or prices were given on any of the devices.
The Torch 9810 comes with a 1.2GHz CPU, 3.2-inch touch display, a total of 8GB internal memory (with microSD expansion up to 32GB), and a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture. Oh, and about ...

BlackBerry Bold 9900 jaunts through FCC
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesRIM BlackBerryBold 9900
There’s been some worry that RIM’s next lineup of BlackBerry smartphones wouldn’t make it out the door before the back-to-school rush, but to back up rumours of a mid-August release, the Bold 9900 has recently passed through FCC filing. That’s usually a good sign that we’ll see the device within the next month, although hardly a sure bet. Some documents are dated far back as June 23, but have only been viewable recently due to the usual confidentiality period the FCC grants.
The BlackBerry Bold 9900 was announced at RIM’s annual conference this spring, and is spearheading their new OS 7 platform. It’s a slim device, has a lot of fresh style to it, while still staying within the well-establis...

BlackBerry Bold Touch UK release date revealed
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesRIM BlackBerryBold 9900
Three and Carphone Warehouse have both estimated BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 UK release dates, suggesting that the touchscreen BlackBerry will arrive this summer.
Three has listed the hybrid QWERTY handset as arriving in September, while Carphone Warehouse is a bit more optimistic, expecting the Bold Touch to land in August.
RIM is yet to release a smartphone into the market this year, concentrating its efforts on the QNX-running BlackBerry PlayBook tablet instead.

The company's fortunes have not fared too well in the meantime, with its stock dropping like a lead balloon after poor financial results and the threat of job cuts imminent.

Research In Motion today indicated via its quarterly earnings report that it is delaying the launch of its BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900/9930 smartphones. Both phones were scheduled to launch during the summer, but RIM said it has been hit with production delays that will force their introduction to be postponed until the "very late part of August." RIM also indicated that it plans layoffs starting in its second fiscal quarter, though it didn't say how many employees would be let go.

Blackberry Bold 9900 coming to Three UK in August
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesRIM BlackBerryBold 9900
We got the lowdown last month on the Blackberry Bold 9900: 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, 640 x 480 capacitive touchscreen, and looks that say "it's business time." Back then RIM said we could snag a svelte new Bold sometime this summer. Then came word that the handset wouldn't be available until September. Now, Three UK has put the Bold 9900 up on its "Coming Soon" page and indicated it's set for an August debut. Whew, we're glad that's settled, but there's one more thing we'd like to know -- how much is it going to cost?
