Motorola Milestone 3 headed to Latin America next month

Motorola has announced that the GSM version of the DROID 3 smartphone, the Milestone 3, will be making its way to seven Latin American countries in September. Brazil will get an early crack at the device, as it is scheduled to go on sale there starting today, and then the other six countries will get it next month. The Milestone 3 sports a 4-inch, qHD (540 x 960 pixel) display, a 1GHz, dual-core processor, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It also has a 5-row, slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Motorola Droid Bionic officially hits Verizon Sept. 8

The long wait for the Droid Bionic is almost over, as Verizon’s first dual-core, 4G LTE phone will be landing Sept. 8.
“On September 8th 2011, the Motorola Droid Bionic will be in your hands.” the Droid Bionic official Twitter account said.
This will end a long and strange journey, as the Motorola Droid Bionic was first introduced in January at CES with a scheduled summer release time. Since then, the Droid Bionic has gone through a system redesign, three Verizon 4G LTE phones have been released and Motorola itself has been acquired by Google (or will be soon).

Yes, there will come a time when the Motorola DROID BIONIC actually gets launched and you are going to go through some type of news withdrawal. It seems that there is something new happening with this device everyday except for the release of the official launch date and the official price of the long-awaited phone.
The latest news is that the Motorola DROID BIONIC has now been listed on Motorola's online store. Unfortunately, there is no button to click on to pre-order the device. Motorola DROID BIONIC battery life hinted in photos

The Motorola DROID BIONIC is supposed to sport the above average battery life that we are accustomed to give Motorola credit for with its Android handsets running Texas Instruments silicon. It was also confirmed by a tester a few weeks ago.
A few photos have now emerged that show the battery meter at different stages during a DROID BIONIC usage. Up to the 60% mark the phone had been hooked up to Verizon's 3G network, and lasted about 15 hours. Then the user flipped the LTE switch, and the phone ate 10% more in four hours, arriving with the 4G connectivity on at the 25-hour mark, and still having 15% of juice left.

DROID 3 gets one-click root, could extend to all Gingerbread Motos

The Motorola DROID 3 is locked down no more. It was a good day for the root community. Earlier today, a root method was finally found for the DROID 3, and just hours later a (pseudo) one-click root method was created by Framework43 and psouza4. And, best of all, it looks like this root method will work on all Motorola phones running Gingerbread, including possibly the soon to be released DROID Bionic.

Motorola XOOM 4G LTE upgrade begins next week

Motorola has started to email XOOM customers to alert them that it will begin to upgrade the XOOM with support for 4G LTE next week. According to Droid-Life, Motorola will start with business and government customers during a “pilot program” first and then will begin updating XOOMs owned by the general public. Customers will need to file an upgrade request before Motorola mails a package containing a pre-paid FedEx box and instructional material. Motorola suggests backing up the data on your XOOM before sending it in and said the process should take approximately three business days. Read on for an image confirming the details.

Motrola forced to pull ATRIX ads that claim most powerful smartphone in UK

It looks like Motorola will end up having to rework its advertising plans for the Motorola ATRIX smartphone in the UK, as a court has ruled that it can no longer claim it as the "most powerful" smartphone available. Last month, UK consumers filed a complaint against the tagline, since the Samsung Galaxy S II sports a 1.2GHz processor, compared to the ATRIX's 1GHz chip.
This week, the UK Advertising Standards Authority said that Motorola would have to pull the offending ad, despite Motorola's protests. That's right folks, the Droid Bionic is back with another leaked appearance. This time it stars in a video clip that reveals the phone's boot sequence, which is followed by an all-important thrill ride / speed test on Verizon's LTE network. As if you needed further proof, this Moto reveals itself to pack dual cores, and as you might expect, it sports Motorola's animation-laden skin. What about the LTE test, you ask? It pulls in respectable numbers -- approximately 4.5Mbps down and 1.9Mbps up -- but as you're likely aware, these speeds pale in comparison to what we've seen on the Droid Charge and Revolution.

Sprint has begun pushing out an update to the Motorola PHOTON 4G Android smartphone that addresses a nasty bug when making calls. Numerous PHOTON 4G users have reported that there is no sound when placing or receiving phone calls. Apparently the PHOTON 4G was muting itself automatically, preventing any sound from coming through. This software update addresses that bug, and also improves overall stability of the system. Good news for those of you still sticking to the Motorola Flipside. The American handset maker, which will soon be owned by Google, has finally released the Android 2.2 Froyo update, bringing a ton of improvements introduced in this version of the Android OS.
