Google Nexus tablet release date, news and rumours
Android Community has done some digging around in Google's repositories and dug up info which points towards a new device being manufactured by Samsung.
The key feature which has been uncovered thus far is a new processor, known as the Exynos 5250 dual-core Cortex-A15, which uses Mali T-604 graphics.

There’s a whole new wave of evidence this week being revealed by none other than Google that points toward them working with Samsung on the next Android Nexus tablet. A Nexus device, for those of you that do not know, is a device that works with Google’s Android in its most basic “vanilla” iteration, and with the evidence we’re seeing today, we may be looking at a Samsung tablet released this summer as the next step. This next Nexus tablet will be the first tablet actually branded as “Nexus” but will be the second released in close collaboration with Google made to show off the next big version of Android, the first being the Motorola XOOM tablet which showed off Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

Sony releases Android 4.0 update for Tablet S

Sony has just announced that the Android 4.0 update for its Tablet S is now available and should be rolling out to owners —j ust connect your Tablet S to Wi-Fi and you should be prompted for a system update. It's good to see Sony living up to its word and delivering this update when it said it would, though we're still waiting for the Tablet P to receive its Ice Cream Sandwich update. To go along with this update, Sony's offering the Tablet S at a bit of a discount — if you buy between now and May 12th, you'll receive $50 as well as a free cradle accessory. This puts the Tablet S at $349 for the 16GB model, and while it isn't the best Android tablet we've ever used, the infusion of Ice Cream...

Acer Iconia Tab A500's Android 4.0 update shows early

Android 4.0 has arrived just a couple of days earlier than previously billed for Acer's Iconia Tab A500, according to reports from Android Central. The OS update had been scheduled to arrive April 27.
Acer has been rolling out the OS update for its Iconia line of tablets since February, with the Iconia Tab A200 first in line. That update fixed a number of bugs in the A200's operation, improving browser responsiveness and microphone functioning, along with the features Android 4.0 itself brings.

ASUS Transformer TF101 gets ICS update

ASUS has released an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the original Eee Pad Transformer. The Taiwanese company announced the update today, posting the release notes to its blog. The update will bring the firmware version to 9.2.1.21 and will start rolling out to users today.
The update will add several enhancements, such as improving system stability, email stability, AppBackup App, and MyLibrary stability. It will also bring support for WiFi Direct, the unzip function in File Manager, and the restore tab function in Browser.

Google Nexus Tablet expected in July

We’ve been hearing loud rumblings that a Google Nexus tablet would be landing soon and that Google would be offering this and other Android tablets directly to consumers through an online store. Well, the folks at The Verge are reporting that we shouldn’t expect Google’s tablet until July at the earliest.
While it’s tough to really call this a “delay” because the device has never been officially announced, The Verge said that Google originally wanted the tablet out in May. The report suggests that Google is pushing it back in order to get it out at a lower price.

A lot has been made about how much hotter the new iPad runs than its predecessors. Overall, the blame has been placed on the much much larger battery found in the device, as well as the higher-res screen, and the updated processor... so essentially there has been blame placed on everything new about the new iPad. Apple, of course, says that the new iPad is "well within... thermal specifications".

We’ve been hearing rumors for some time now but it looks like the Google Nexus tablet will be available at some point in the next few months. Google will jump into the tablet market this year with its own 7-inch device, according to a DisplaySearch analyst.
The tablet market has experienced rapid growth over the past couple of years thanks to devices such as the iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Kindle Fire and it looks as though Google wants in on that cake, with its Ice Cream Sandwich operating system providing it with a good starting point.
Speaking to Cnet, analyst Richard Shim suggested that a self-branded, 7-inch (1280x800) Google tablet running Ice Cream Sandwich would start production in April.

Wow, it has been a while since we last had a rumor about a Google branded tablet. Last time, which was about six weeks ago, it was claimed that a 7-inch slate priced at $199 was being readied for a late Q2 release. But although that information seemed a bit shaky for us at the time, the odds of it turning out to be accurate are raising as we now have another source providing similar claims.
According to Richard Slim, who is an analyst with DisplaySearch, Google is indeed working on a tablet with a 7-inch display and 1280 by 800 pixels of resolution. Toshiba to update Thrive tablet to Android 4 before summer

Toshiba USA just revealed over Twitter that it plans to update its Thrive 10.1-inch tablet to Android 4.0 before the end of the spring. This puts the release in mid-June, as the summer season starts on June 20.
The Thrive is available in three models, with 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities. They are priced at $429, $479, and $570, respectively. All share the dual-core, 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and a 1280x800 resolution display. It differs from other Android tablets by virtue of its user-removable battery and swappable rear covers. The tablet shipped with Android 3.1 onboard.

Acer has begun pushing out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to Iconia Tab A200 owners in the US today, the company has confirmed to us, with the OTA upgrade expected to be completed by the end of next week. Meanwhile, the 7-inch Acer Iconia Tab A100 and 10-inch Iconia Tab A500 are both on track to be updated to ICS in April. However, don’t expect pure, unadulterated Android 4.0 on your refreshed slate.
