Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 available for preorder

Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 available for preorder

Posted on Jun 30, 2011 by MG1

If you really wanted a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but wished it had mobile data connectivity built it, you’ll be happy to know that the Verizon 4G LTE version is now available in preorder. There are a few caveats though.
The first issue is that the Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 won’t ship for at least a month, as the company is quoting 4-6 weeks before it will get to you. If you love your gadgets as much as we do, that’s going to be a long, long time to wait.
The second issue that some of you may come up against is price. The Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 will start at $529 for the 16 GB model and $629 for the 32 GB version. That’s not much more than the WiFi-only model but these come saddled...

US consumers are getting their fill of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 as we speak, but as we’ve reported earlier in the month, the European launch of the Honeycomb flavored tablet has been pushed back to August due to alleged Android 3.1 issues.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 headed to Sprint on June 24

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 headed to Sprint on June 24

Posted on Jun 22, 2011 by MG3

Sprint has just announced that it will be carrying the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 beginning June 24. The carrier will be stocking non-3G, Wi-Fi-only versions, much like the way it carries non-3G versions of the Motorola XOOM and BlackBerry PlayBook. The carrier says that the 16GB edition of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available for $499.99. It is the same version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 that hit retail shelves last weekend. The tablet will be available online, in-store, and through telesales.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 hitting Sprint on June 24th, bring your own 4G

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 hitting Sprint on June 24th, bring your own 4G

Posted on Jun 22, 2011 by MG1

Samsung wouldn't get any more specific than "mid-summer" when it revealed that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 would be coming to Sprint, but it turns out you don't have to wait much longer to pick one via the carrier. Sprint has just announced that the WiFi-only tablet will be available through its website and other channels starting June 24th for the same $499.99 it demands elsewhere (though you'll have to wait until July 24th to get one at a Sprint retail store). It also not-so-subtly notes that the tablet is "even more amazing" when paired with an Overdrive Pro 4G mobile hotspot or Novatel MiFi -- sold separately, of course. Full press release is after the break.

Samsung NC215S solar netbook will see the light of day in Russia

Posted on Jun 21, 2011 by MG1

Anyone who's ever attempted to use a laptop on a sunny summer day can surely tell you that direct sunlight is not your friend -- that's why we like to ride out the season in our dark basement apartments. If only there were a way to harness the sun's rays for good, instead of evil -- like powering your PC while you're off doing whatever it is that normal people do when it's sunny outside. First introduced for the African market, Samsung's NC215S will be hitting Russia in early August for 13,999 rubles ($479). The netbook sports a lid almost entirely monopolized by a solar panel, which contributes to an overall estimated battery life of 14.5 hours. The NC215S packs a 1.6GHz N570 Intel Atom dua...

As usual, you should proceed with some caution if you decide to take the plunge, but the root can been unrooted if you wind up having second thoughts -- all the details you need are at the source link below.

So, we knew the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was coming, but it looks like some shoppers eagerly anticipating the tablet's arrival will go home empty handed today. We just received word from a Samsung rep that there have been "shipping delays to some stores in certain regions." They went on to say, "We expect most retail locations to have inventory by tomorrow while supplies last." That's all we have at the moment, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.
